Thank you very much for watching the video. I connected my Sega Dreamcast in a 4K TV using a HDMI and this is how it looks: ruclips.net/video/isj73_JTzfE/видео.html
I totally understand what you mean. I've been playing most of my childhood games nowadays, but I'm not gonna lie that from time to time I play something from the currently generation. I loved to play Lies of P and I'm still playing Gran Turismo 7. Maybe the studios think only about the money and not the quality of the games. Thanks for watching.
Got mine at launch 9.9.99 when I was 13 years old, along with Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur, and NFL 2K. Dreamcast's game library is still ridiculously good compared to any 2 year window from any other console.
Dreamcast was the best system ever released based on the context of when it was brought to market. It was better than anything else out at that time. Amazing system. I play emulators for it all the time and Sega Rally was legendary!
My personal Dreamcast stayed in a box for the past 20 years and I recently took it out and started playing again because I found some games I liked on emulation. It's as good as I could ever remember. I even bought a new game and a rumble pack which I've never owned. Man, it's so much better than playing on my PC. I kind of got infected by the retro console bug so I bought a NES too! My favorite game for Dreamcast is Test Drive V-Rally but I also love Crazy Taxi. I still need to buy it on disc. Thanks for the great video!
My friend our stories are very similar. I got my first Dreamcast a few months ago in 2024, what a machine. These older consoles are bringing me more love for gaming that I have had for a while.
Bought 2 dreamcasts this year for the first time. One to play a handful of games I picked up, and the other is modded with a MODE to play everything else. Amazing console Bought a ps2 last week as well for the first time. Gen 6 will forever be the golden era of gaming
I have exactly the same intention. I would like to buy another Dreamcast to keep original and another one to install the GDEMU and a new shell, it’s on my plans haha. Thanks for watching 😁
The Dreamcast was such an underrated console that folks today look back on it and say this console was dope for it having a short run. Today I still play it as if it came out yesterday
The VMU's battery is dead, replace the cells to avoid having to set up the time every time... X ) The beep you hear when you plug it into a controller is a signal that it's batteries are dead. The best thing to do is mod the VMU's to replace the two batteries with a lipo and usb charger. Way better for longevity and cheaper than buying batteries every 6 months. Same thing for the internal Battery on the Dreamcast. It's a soldered rechargeble CR3022 I think its the ml2032 variant . If you power off the console for too long it will inevitably loose it's charge but it's also not supposed to last more than 10 years. So replacing it should be the way to go. It's just 2 solder points. You can replace the original with a holder so that you can replace the battery again in 5 years. Please please please don't replace it with a standard CR3022 as those aren't meant to receive a charge and might get damaged, possibly taking the console with them. Anyway, I partly agree with the comparison of old vs new. I wish modern games didn't rely on patches so much. In 10 years when you'll plug in your xbox series or ps4 or whatever to replay some of those juicy exclusives, you'll be shocked that the update servers are down and you are left unable to play the games.
@@GeekPlayGamesUS no worries, it was a pleasure watching your re-discover the console. I'm always looking for new content around the Saturn and DC. Oh, yeah, just in case you want to try some of the rarest and more expensive games, I can only suggest you find a GD-emu. It replaces the GD-ROM drive so you might also want to mod it into a second "dead" Dreamcast, possibly also replacing the power supply with a pico PSU. It's an investment both in time and money but you'll get plenty of benefits including faster loading times and the possibility to load homebrew as well. There is only one game to my knowledge (D2) that unfortunately uses a disk swap method currently unsupported by GD-emu but If you have a second DC, it's only a matter of doing the swap on the other console. I love the DC and what it meant to Sega and their player-base before they pulled the plug and I'm confident that in another timeline they kept supporting it a bit more, possibly producing a "pro" model like our current modern consoles, if only to help carry it to the next generation.
I fell in love with Dreamcast in the summer of 1999 during the lead up to its U.S. launch. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford it at the time. However, I made up for it a few years later when I bought one from a college friend along with Sonic Adventure and Trickstyle. Love that console!
DC was ahead of its time. I remember buying it at launch back in 1999. Had so many games for it and probably the most fun I’ve ever had with any console.
Great video mate What I would suggest due to the high prices is invest in a GDEMU for your Dreamcast you can then play the games on your system using an SD card :)
I love my dreamcast and ps2 consoles and I even still have my sega genesis. I did get a gdemu for my dreamcast and a hdmi adapter, been playing some the really hard to get ahold of games on that thing. I did also get a new controller that has a updated joystick too and that thing is so much better.
I also would like to buy a gdemu, but I’m thinking about to get another Dreamcast to make this installation and also a new shell. I believe most people are playing retro games nowadays and I totally get it. Thank you for watching and for you comment 😁
Sturmwind is an indie shooter from 5 or 6 years ago. It's still in production you can get it for about $60 us with shipping. Plus, there's over 50 titles that have been released independently in the past 5 years. You can get most of them from video games New York many of them are under $35 with shipping even to Europe man. There's some really really great stuff here. You might really like some of it.
Good to know that I can find good games with a good price nearby. For sure I’m going to search more Dreamcast games because right now I’m having a great time playing it. Thanks for your comment 😁
All I am playing, and I mean ALL, are my modded PS2 and OG Xbox. Both have softmods and running SATA SS HHD's. I built an upscaler and connect them both via component. All of this on a 55" UHD TV and I am a more than happy guy! I've been done with modern consoles after the Xbox One. Never again.
Can you give me an idea about what is the best upscaler with a good price? I’ve been looking to buy one but I’m not sure how it works and the best solution. I would like to play the Dreamcast and the ps2 with a good quality of image on modern tv.
@@GeekPlayGamesUS I built a GBS-C. If you are talented with a soldering iron and using Arduino/boards it isn't that hard. If not, I'd personally pay for a Retrotink 5 or a 4K.
I understand how cool it still is, I'm a zoomer(real early one) whose first was a Mega Drive, I was raised on the arcades and SEGA/Nintendo like all the cool kids before me. I do find it humbling when people my age are baffled at the sight of a SEGA system, it makes me feel like a grandma or something.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think you could also exchange saves between 2 vmu by just connecting them. Without using the console at all. Was this a thing or my love for DC is so big that my mind makes up amazing things for it?
You’re right my friend. You can connect the vmu to another vmu and exchange saves. I have a video here on the channel talking about the vmu. Thanks for watching 😁
7:45 If you have a Code Breaker, illegal copy or not, you can use it to play Japanese imported software for a lot cheaper. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is not only cheaper on Japanese Dreamcast, but there's also Capcom vs. SNK PRO and Capcom vs. SNK 2. These fighters are a lot cheaper and have an easier entry point. Demand for these SNK crossover fighters isn't as big as the Marvel crossover fighters, but you get the picture.
I could care less about the modern consoles. Still playing games on my SNES, PC Engine, GAMEBOY DMG 01, 360, Genesis, etc. no waiting for updates or downloads. No internet requirements
2:16 Crazy Taxi has a GameCube port. And like Sonic Adventure DX, both are GameCube games barely any people talk about. Most GameCube discussions mention Super Mario Sunshine and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker instead.

the reason crazy taxi is the best version on the dreamcast is because of the arcade counterpart the NAOMI hardware 🙂 👍
