I know that pain you can see on his face, my daughters mother died in a car accident when she was 3. having to explain to a 3 yr old that mommy is dead was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. It took years for her to fully understand what happened but as much as I was grieving her loss myself it was absolutely even more heartbreaking thinking about my daughter's loss, like a level that's indescribable. She never got to know her mom, missed out on all special stuff shared between a parent and child. 24 yrs later it's still difficult for me to talk about. I did my best as a single parent but nothing will ever replace what should have been. 😢 I know she has carried and will always carry that with her and there is nothing I can do about it which kills me to this day.

I lost my girlfriend almost 2 years ago in a homicide. It’ll be 2 years October 5th. Unfortunately I was there when it happened and I had to be the one to break the news to her mother at 4:30 in the morning she was shot and to come to the hospital. She was my best friend. Literally the girl I dreamed of We raced motocross and rode every chance we could and spent every moment we could together until she passed. 2 years into our relationship she was pregnant and we decided on an abortion. I wish I could go back to that conversation and change our minds about it. It kills me everyday, I just wish I had a part of her still here

Anyone in Washington state that can vote for Kent is a fool not to, he's a good man, and a solid leader that Washington desperately needs. Our state and country can be turned around, but we have to do our part by voting for the right people. This man has given his life to our nation, and is willing to continue to fight for us, the very least we can do is to give him that chance to go to battle for us once again. If you have extra money, I'm sure his campaign could use the extra funds, I know where I'll be sending money after writing this. Thank you to the Kent family for all you've sacrificed for our freedom, it isn't taken lightly.

I urge everyone to buy the book, "Send Me." Shannon sounds like a truly exceptional person. Beyond the immediate loss to her family, she had been accepted into medical school to become a psychologist to help other veterans, but the Navy blocked it because she would have transitioned to being an officer. By Navy regulations, her history of thyroid cancer made her "ineligble" to become an officer, but not to deploy worldwide as a Chief Petty Officer. So instead of starting medical school, she deploys again and gets blown up. What a tragedy for all of us.

I'm also an Oregonian. And have lived in Washington state, as well. Agreed that our nation needs individuals in positions of leadership and influence who know the hardships and reality of this world. The ones who know firsthand the tremendous cost of the freedom and privileges we Americans are granted, not by our government, but by those who have given their all for us. We each need to demand and ensure our loved ones in the military and other service to our nation are only placed into harms way for the right reasons, and given the resources and latitude to do their job with as minimal loss as absolutely possible. Nothing less for them is acceptable. I've contributed to Joe's campaign fund, as well as other like candidates around the nation. I encourage you to do so as well.
