You may hate it, it may make you physically cringe, it may blind you, but having old art to look back on and possibly redraw is a HUGE motivator (and is just a lot of fun) showing your progress as an artist ;)

Oh no...looking at old sketchbooks sure are wild 🤧 but atleast you'll see how much you've improved. Also alice closet actually is nice since i've played it a few days ago. For insiration haha (bc the clothes are so pretty)
I've been playing a game kinda like Alice closet (love Nikki) forma couple of years now and they look almost the same other than how love Nikki kinda looks better quality

I love seeing artist's past sketchbooks! Seeing how similar a lot of us start out and our habits back then! I used my sketchbook in such a wasteful way... And now I try to always fill spreads as much as I can :'D

I used to use my sketchbook (if it can even be called one-) very wastefully too.. thank god, My sketchbook doesn't have to suffer in that way anymore 😌

I'm near my teenage years:') Looking back at my old art really wow me. Seeing others progress from where they started really shows that art is not a talent. It is a skill! The first time I saw your videos was I belive your eye tutorial or you girl anatomy tutorial. It is amazing how you have improved! I learned a lot from your channel, thank you so much!!!💖💖💖💖

One time, I made a sketch that I really didn't like, but the next day I fixed some details, added a few anatomy things and painted it, and now it's my favorite page in my sketch book so far

Um i'm afraid to admit it but when i was about 4 years old, my brother was drawing a car and when he was finnished with it, i scribbled some pink flowers on it(they dont look like flowers) bc i thought it was ugly. I guess i'm kinda like your siblings 🤧

For me it was because the sketchbook size was too big and it got better (less wasted papers yay) when I downsized thru out the years ^~^
When you zoomed in on that unfinished Link I thought: "Hey! She found the Missing Link!" xD

This is literally my sketchbook XDDD, a bunch of faces, eyes, some attempts at anatomy and hands. I just draw on random pieces/sheets of paper and put it in a folder

Not gonna lie tho, when I came back to look at my really old drawings I sometimes judge myself too, both in a mean way and in a cringe way xD
Its so interesting to see other artists sketchbooks!! but oh my god the empty space is killing me bc i make sure to fill the whole page with drawings i just cant leave any place empty😭
When I saw those blank papers, they were so shiny, they produced enough light to set my eyes on fire. But woah, your improvement throughout the years... It's amazing.

I know you referred to these as “bad” but honestly this helped me. I’m trying to learn how to draw anatomy better, especially eyes, and the amount of heads and eyes you drew helped me figure out what they should look like. TYSM!

This really inspired me to improve my skills and dont give up! I used to draw so much when I was younger (like...4 to 8 years old) but I realized that Im really bad at it than how I thought, so I decided to stop and do other things...Im learning a lot from you, thanks for your vids!

I was the opposite- My old notebooks were filled to the brim- I was so scared of wasting literal notebook paper, that every page was so full you couldn’t even figure out what was going on- and it would take me like a year to finish my notebook-

in high school i would take notes in my sketchbook and draw in my notebooks. Basically whatever was in front of me. Altho sometimes my teachers would have us turn in our notebooks, so i'd have to tear pages of my sketchbook and shove it in my school books. I had one teacher that would see my doodles in my notebook and tried to connect all of them from the whole semester in a story and i am very curious what the story was.
Your art tutorials saved me and was my starting blocks for my future style, the classic style is charming. Glad to see that you're growing as well it's exciting to see what's next!
It's so cool to see those old sketch books because I'm in my midteens so it's cool to see where you were at at my age. I used to do the same thing except I would rip out everything and start over cuz I felt I wasn't using the sketch book right lol my first sketchbook is soooo thin 😅🤣

Haha same thing happened to my old sketchbook. I've got alot of empty spaces(especially the back parts of the paper) so I now use it to do math equations or random small sketches now

Haha, I get the whole "most of my pages are blank" thing. I just recently looked through some old sketches of mine, and about 48% of my sketchbook was blank paper. When I was little, I had a problem with completely filling up a sketchbook.
