100000% should honour the mqph. As the player announced zm, the auntie never even show or shout for any intention to pong. ( Even when settling chip, she never ask downleg announce what he gonna throw…) Only when the guy say finish zm mqphkl then the auntie say her piece. And can tell by the tone of language, whereby she straightaway command the zm fella “put back”, she confirm just want to siam the zm.
Another similar situation few months back. Somemore it’s 3 eat pinghu, the player zimo kalong, Bao the up leg. After 2 sec, other leg then shouted pong. The zimo ph, the player put back the tile. The kana bao keep laughing. Then the player who pong kept saying sorry sorry sorry. It’s so unfair to the zimo player. You slow is your problem. If I can take the tile and look at it, mean you are slow.
While it is not 100% clear in the video which came first - opening of kalong tile to announce mqphkl or the 8 suo pong, when playback at 0.25x speed, it felt like the pong was just very slightly later than the mqphkl announcement. Moreover, when 8 suo was discarded, player wanting to pong was helping her downleg to give change to her upleg and helping her upleg to move the chips to her downleg, which I am sure stemmed from player being helpful but also is an action that both the upleg/downleg can do themselves. This helping action, while is quite a norm to see but not required/expected of any players, did distracted herself, resulting the pong shout to be ever so slightly later (at least from what i see with 0.25x playback) than mqphkl announcement. Furthermore, if the 8 suo pong is really intended and possibly crucial as explained later in the vid, one would think that a (seasoned) player would be alert enough to notice despite all the actions going on. Of course, it is right that in all other comments saying that if it is not a mqphkl tile, it would probably be a unanimous agreement to put back to the tile, but when one's interest is involved (all dont want pay mqphkl, 1 banse pp, 1 banse, 1 alr 3 or 4 tai outside), surely no one will honour the mqphkl. It is also probably possible for the mqphkl player coulda woulda shoulda ask if anyone wanted the 8 suo before making his move to draw, considering the many actions going on - paying the bite, helping to move chips/change around which then again, is not expected of every player. In the eyes of an outsider with nothing to gain, i maintain my stand that mqphkl should have been given.. maybe ask again if/when we ownself are caught in the same situation, see if will result in different answer 😅 But at the end of the day, I guess it's the universe's way of making things 'fair', while mqphkl player didn't get the winning from his mqphkl, the 8 suo pong player forked out more than what she would've paid for the mqphkl.. biggest beneficiary is the banse pp and the last player with 3 animals have escaped unscathed 🤣
Can hear opposite shout pong even before he put his 2 tong down.. Think from the other point of view if that wasn’t his ZM card and opposite shout pong at the same time, he will still put back and let opposite pong.
I think most people can agree that both of them can be right depending of how you look at it. For me, at first I was leaning towards shouldnt honour. No matter what, the lady really can pong + everything moving so fast + competitive environment (cannot shout pong first then think so could still be thinking / player never friendly remind he throw 8 suo after all the money exchange). However, if above is right, means the lady dont mean to 恶 pong at all and really want to do suo zi hand. Based on replaying her hands, she most likely got 2 x 4 suo and 2 x 8 suo on hand. If she really want to play suo zi, I feel she would have pong the earlier 4 suo or eat the 3 suo considering can make her hand stronger and transit into potential pong pong banse hand or just banse. But hey, this is how I would have played it at least, which doesnt equate to her playing style. At the end of the day, only she knows the truth. So to conclude, I would honour the hand la cause feels like er pong.
I wld thk, in such fast pace game, hv to be alert. And when such incident of split sec (I can’t even which come 1st), the player has clearly opened the zimo tile, benefit shd goes to him honoring the zimo, else everybody wld hv known what he was calling. In that way, it will no longer be fun for him, or worse. I don’t agree he was too fast. Unless it is obvious the shout for pong came at the point the player saw or felt the tile and still force his way to put down. Just my view
Yes. If the player took and look at the tile before the pong, mean he wasnt fast. But in the case, she was paying the bite money. So really hard to judge
Beg to differ. She didn’t purposely ping the 8suo to block his mqph because she was already doing suo zi. Just that they was activities exchanging $$ and her view was blocked
The zimo wasnt his if was pong in time. cleary this small dispute is cause paying chips/blocked view or whatever. dont be salty and just put back the zimo. unless you think she saw your mqph then try to shout pong to prevent you zimo.
lol who will say ok let you mqzmphkl 5 tai LOL obviously other 3 players will vote against it what… since here want play fast game, want pong must say fast and action fast as you can’t even say wait here.. if too slow, the rule is carry on.. same should apply here
@@AhXiangMahjongthis one abit tricky tbh... But, after watching multiple times on slow mo, I feel that his mqph should be honoured as carebear only shouted pong when he already opened 2 tong. Hahaha ax so late still eating ah? 😂
I felt sorry for that lady , although she's draw her tiles too fast , but the tiles is adly in her hand, n suppose to game pinghu ,but l also felt the players know that she is gaming, and the opposite shout wants to pong eight bamboo, and the gentleman just keep quiet ,by looking at the game , once the players drew the tiles , and is in hand , l think the drawers should game her pinghu , nomattar who's ever wants pong ,l felt is so unfair , and feel is liking cheating her , no supporting , n friendly game, who's else want to playing anymore 😢
My personal view is MQPH shouldn’t stand. Because 1) she is obviously doing suo zi, so she didn’t pong just to make him put back the card 2) the 8 suo was on the table 1-2 sec max and his hand kinda blocked the view 3) the mqph guy technically haven’t throw card so she still can pong, like some of the Comments here said. If it’s not a ZM tile, 99% have to put back one.
1) Agree, but not an excuse. 2) Agree, again, not an excuse. Player busy with something else like drinking water or can’t see properly, it’s own responsibility to ask what was discarded. 3) Disagree, player is gaming on the card, then of course he will nvr throw a card. You can’t use the same yardstick to rule for gaming card.
Should just honour the mqph. Not the player draw fast but the other player react slow (wanting to pong) when arranging the chips
Don’t think she react slow. The 8suo on the table about 1 sec only. Then the guy hand blocking the card also, when paying the chips.

Also should see if her hand really needed the 8 suo. Can be a convenient excuse (to pong for fun) just to take away the zm.
That's why keep money first, throw tile later
