When only being able to use a app to control the tv, it is just replacing the remote. So now the mobile phone lies in front of you on the table instead of the remote. This does not make things smart! Via the Orvibo Magic Cube it is promoted that it can be used with Amazon Alexa. But how? The homemate app is visible in the Amazon Alexa app, but then Alexa still does not recognize the voice commands. Even simple commands like TV on, or TV off are not recognized. And as long as this does not work the Magic cube is mainly worthless as there is no difference in using the standart TV remote, of control the TV via the Homemate app. Only thing is that you need to have another device so you can use the app to control the TV.
It would be better if Orvibo would step up and create the app that it will work with voicecontrol via Amazon Alexa. Especially because Broadlink is failing to get their skill working for the Euopean Alexa and Google home users. So please Orvibo, fill this gap in the market as people are getting fed up with promises that are not kept!
