I would be fine if Warren Buffett did not want to give me money. I would instead want him to teach me EVERYTHING he knows!!! Some of us would kill to have been his Grandchildren...
Her Grandfather is a genius. She is entitled, I'm glad warren didn't give he anything else. Having your education and living expenses paid for by your grandpa is a huge blessing. He wants to make his children and grand children actually do something. He has said that he doesn't want a bunch of buffet grand children running around basically ruining the family name. This grand child would have absolutely ruined the family name if she had been given money. I think Buffet is a smart man forcing his children to actually go out and do something.
i know the comment is old but this girl, is not related to warren buffet, she is just the daughter from the ex wife from peter buffet (warren buffets son) NOT FROM HIM!!!!!!!!
The fact that he didn't spoil them is a gift for them because they learned what is like to have a normal life and how to survive in this world without having everything prepared. When someone has prepared everything for you, you don't learn how to build resilience, how to cope with difficulties (because life has difficulties no matter rich or poor), and to feel grateful for what you have. Only struggle teaches you that no matter rich or poor.
This strategy sucks! He should of put them in apprenticeships and taught them how to make money before they leave high-school or college or start a business. Versus pay for everything and leave them with no worries and then cast them into a world of worry with no coping skills. Most people get on drugs or kill themselves under this pressure. Sad thing is that these billionaires benefit from Coroparate welfare...they thrive off loans and receiving money from investors, banks and govt.
so why does she think she's entitled to a piece of her grandfather's fortune? she had her education and living expenses paid for while in school. that's pretty nice
I recommend for you the documentary "The Minimalists" for you which can be found on Netflix. Also do you think it is more selfish to donate your money to a charity that help millions of people in need or to donate your money to your own few kids who got a free quality education and have the tools to become rich themself unless they choose to become leeches who only take but dont give anything back to the world? You know the old saying give a man a fish and he eats for a day teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. It can be applied here, give your kid some money and he probably leeches all hes life and end up accomplishing nothing except getting addicted to drugs and ultimately being unhappy with hes life but give your kid a good education and he can build hes own fortune and feel proud and happy about himself and hes life. Let me ask you something, if you had to choose to sacrife your own life or the life of 10 strangers, which would you choose? What about would you sacrife your kids life or the life of 10 strangers kids? I think the problem with our world is that people are too selfish, they think they and their loved ones are so much more important then fellow human beings. You should not think of yourself or your loved ones as more valuable then other human beings.
The document is about people who quit their CEO 200 grand a year salary jobs and donate it all away except what they really need(food, few objects with emotional value that make them happier and a tiny home) so they can ultimately be more happy and focus on the important things in life. You did not answer the main portion of my comment tho.

Wikipedia: Warren Buffett disowned his son Peter's adopted daughter, Nicole, in 2006 after she participated in the Jamie Johnson documentary, The One Percent. Although his first wife had referred to Nicole as one of her "adored grandchildren",[62] Buffett wrote her a letter stating, "I have not emotionally or legally adopted you as a grandchild, nor have the rest of my family adopted you as a niece or a cousin." He signed the letter "Warren."
tien ha But she's still a Buffet. It's not like being Christy Walton and being filthy rich simply because your husband and in-laws are dead. She's a member of the family and a Buffet nonetheless. Biological or not shouldn't mean anything.
FierceONeill, Nicole is just a Buffet by name. And it does mean something. She has no real relationship with Warren besides maybe her Stepfather Peter. That's why she got cutoff from Warren assets & Peter can't do anything about it. You may like to argue otherwise but what really happens matter; she has no biological relation & no true buildup love between her and Warren. A Buffet's last name counts for little in the face of reality.
I get it. Buffett was a child of the depression. His thinking is the greatest motivator is hunger and fear. That incentivizes one to succeed which builds self-worth. You can't buy self-worth you have to earn it. Many spoiled rich children drift miserably through life and are condescending pricks who appreciate nothing.
+Tim Shweaty Warren Buffet is the son of a congressman/stockbroker the grandson of a grocery chain owner. Buffet was born with an excellent foundation, I'm not entirely sure how impacted he was by the great depression.
His dad was unemployed and they relied on his grandparents grocery store for daily needs for a time. Outside of a select few like the Kennedys lucky enough to be extremely wealthy and time their exit from the stock market in advance, everyone was deeply impacted.
Honestly, in my observation, I’ve actually seen the office it. Usually poor people are those who have a lot of complexes surrounding money and tend to be very angry,
There is sooo much hatred toward this poor girl that actually got DISOWNED by Warren Buffet when he found out about her participation in Jamie Johnson's film about the One Percenters in America. And what she said about her grandfather was never hateful or mean. The girl is an artist and working as a maid to survive. There is no shame in that.
He gave his grandchildren the most important gift of all which is a wonderful education. A responsibility that technically belongs to their parents. What they do with that is on them. The BASELESS SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT is exactly why these rich kids need to take responsibility for themselves and their life choices. I think Warren Buffet did a great job, besides its not like they're currently living in poverty and he continually refuses to help them.
She never said that she majored in art. She only said that she had been involved in creating art from a very young age. "A free college education, what more could you ask for!!!" To be free to explore and reach your full potential as a loving and thinking human being, and to share the experience of life with other loving and thinking human beings.
I am not surprised that W. Buffett disowned her after this interview. I senses a tone of entitlement from her to his wealth. She could of attended to any school ...Harvard, Yale, Stanford, etc and done anything with her life. She blew through thousands of dollars on art school and then decides to go on television to petition for a trust fund. Good for Warren! When I first heard he disowned his granddaughter I was put back but in context it's very clear to me why he was compelled to do so.
Whats with the negative comments? Kids nowadays are getting too spoil n have no respect to people this is why i believe that Warren is doing the right thing...
handouts and entitlement make people financially weak and needy. Having money is not exciting its the process of earning it and generating it that is rewarding.
Not exactly, it’s both, what do you want your children and grandchildren to have to work or be able to function fully doing nonprofit/charity and that kind of thing?
IMHO....none of us have ever walked in this gal's shoes. Because of that, we really don't know exactly how we'd feel. She said she's at peace with it, but she also contradicted it by saying she wishes she could've had some of it do "do things for others" with it. It would be ODD for most of the world not to want a piece of that pie. I know I would.
She's Warren's grand-daughter through adoption, and not by blood.
6 лет назад+1
I don't buy that crap. He never talked about adoption, though he bragged about not giving shit about his kids, I read articles about it back in 2010. An entire article about how he wasn't going to give his kids any money. No word was spend on adoption there. Personally I believe he was just enraged about the fact that she participated in a movie in which is the total opposite of his mindset. Because of this he wrote that she wasn't his own.
Wtf this supposed to mean... blood or no blood... after adaption she is his granddaughter! And it seems to me she was just very honest in this interview about the situation... I will be also a little bit bothered if my grandpa would be billionaire and I would not feel his support ... not only financially but also Emotionally, what after I listen this interview, it’s very obviously that he’s not supported of her at all!!!
There are literal pictures of her and Buffet lmao yeah she seems entitled but Buffet was obviously cold for saying that imagine your grandpa telling you to piss off
I had the greatest and the sweetest grandfather who always gave me his love and his time, while my country paid for my education. I can't imagine the emotional void when your closest family is just judgmental.
I disagree with the other comments here. Anyone would have resentment knowing that your mega billionaire grandfather doesn`t help his own family financially (we know why he does it but if you are her is not easy to leave emotions aside) I think she was smart and able to rationalise through it.
She is not from his family, and that doesn't matter, the one that.made the money is buffet, and she also want to stole the name (she is selling nft s saying that is the grandaugther of warren buffet, not even saying that she is adopted) a parasite basically
He's doing the right thing... so many people are ruined and spoiled (literally to death) when they do not have to earn anything. They party the money away and die empty. He worked hard, and so should his children/ grandchildren. He gives them a better chance than most people by promising them that they will not have debt when they get out of college. THAT itself is a gift, not a right.
Perhaps this is the best way to teach family members how to stand on their own two feet. People will pay $10K to speak with Warren for a lunch date. Yet this lady has had a life time to be in his midst. She has a lot peace of mind.
that is exactly my point. to say Buffet gave her no money is false. Buffet gave her a great education growing up and she entered the real world with no debt. more than 90% of college students cant say that. she shoulda been able to find a good job and make her own career and to go on national TV and portraying warren as this man who wont help his own ya its totally fine to see him disown her. he helped her a lot and to do this. no sympathy for her.
She's not a member of his family. She was adopted by his son Peter when he married her mother. They have since divorced and her mother has written several books on investing claiming she got the knowledge from Mr. Buffett. He's not a fan of being exploited and Nicole is continuing the trend of portraying a false relationship in order to gain attention. Mr. Buffett has taken great care for his children and they want for nothing. But of course you will never care about these facts.
Agreed! LOL! "Money isn't everything" is a typical statement of mixed-up people. Obviously the fact she didn't have to peddle her ass to pay for her education has only contributed to that confusion. Whatever money she could get from him, she'd definitely spend on trying "to find herself".
Yeah this is a weird strategy that sabatoges their growth. He should of taught them to invest, start a business, work an apprenticeship and how to make themselves rich before they graduated high-school or college. He might as well just send them to the military. This seems like how you stay on top and keep control of everyone beneath you. This is false leadership. I rather struggle as child and develop those skills as a child than have to struggle for the first time as an adult. They might as well all become doctors but he is frugal and only pays for the the bachelor's and they mostly like have scholarship--so he pays for a discounted education lmao. I rather deal with Sally mae
The reward in life is the journey itself not the end result. That's what he's trying to teach them. Be humble, be respectful and and always remember nothing in life is permanent.
Oh my goodness, talk about feeling like your "owed" something. Warren Buffett worked for all he has, and she's acting like she deserves some of that. People these days lol
I wasn't given that impression from watching the video first time around. Maybe I'll have to give it another watch but from what she said, it sounds like she wanted to have access to some of that wealth to help other people in more of a humanitarian way. I think she wants to be Bill Gates with Warren's capital.
@@TomSleeUK To help others you first need to be self sufficient. If she doesn’t know how to fish and earn her own way then she will be useless helping others anyway.
Typical Amurican clown mentality you have!!! Imagine having the richest person ob the planet as your grandfather and he doesn't even give you money for a freaking trip!!! Imagine the humiliation at school!! That schmuck is an a$$$ hole
@@justicewarrior9187 thats called being humble and earning your way through life ! buffets dad was a congressman but still buffet started business when he was young and didnt expect hand outs
What difference does it make if she's adopted?? She was the WANTED child...the rest, who knows? Clearly he loves her and has a concern about her education. The rest all sounds very healthy to me. She doesn't have the OVERLY expensive educational fees (which are pathetic in America) and she now can decide ON HER OWN what she really wants to do. Lovely young lady... level headed.
The wonderful thing for Nicole Buffett is that whomever she chooses to marry will be done out of a mutual love and respect for one another - the money will not be an issue. I hope that she understands what an opportunity that she has.
I don't understand all the comments on here emphasizing the fact she was adopted. So what? She's still legally his granddaughter. Many people in my family were adopted. Do they not deserve the same benefits and equal treatment the biological members do?
All Warren money he earned was by his own self, yes he did got a great start by his dad, who show him stock market in his early year. He should maybe offer her a job at his firm, but she don't deserved it off the bat. She got her expense paid with a full ride to college, she should be great with that.
He did the same thing with his daughter ... Usually, the mum was the one writing checks , she convinced warren to give them more, and he gave them stocks worth millions and told them to hold them if they're smart .
The reality is its Warren Buffetts money to do as he chooses. That said if one is motivated to do something that adds value be it in business, arts or socially doesn't it make sense to still make resources available to those closest to you so that they can better accomplish their objectives.
I can't believe how many hate filled comments are here against a young woman who none of you know and have never met and most probably will never meet. She is working and living her life and has the right to talk about HER life. How dare you judge her and her values? Stick to your own business and leave her, and others, alone. She's doing well on her own and I applaud her. I would be happy to welcome her in my home.
Giving them everything they need and then taking it away is setting them up for failure. She doesn't need to be super rich but I think she should have peace of mind. Isn't that what we all strive for, us and our family?
I like the fact that Nicole Buffet wears braids. That's afrocentric culture. She looks like the realest white person I've ever seen in my life. She looks real down to Earth. Much love, props and respect to Nicole Buffet.
Well, she's his adopted grandchild, whatever that means. And he disowned her. From Wikipedia: "Buffett disowned his son Peter's adopted daughter, Nicole, in 2006 after she participated in the Jamie Johnson documentary, The One Percent. Although his first wife referred to Nicole as one of her 'adored grandchildren',[83] Buffett wrote her a letter stating, 'I have not emotionally or legally adopted you as a grandchild, nor have the rest of my family adopted you as a niece or a cousin.'"
+katie boo I saw it, she is entitled to her own opinions. It is obviously not only about money. It is about family values. I really enjoyed to see how the so call one percent lives. Some of them are paranoid, racists, and classists. Others truly enjoy the profits and invest wisely. Their crook or opportunists ancestors without scruples worked hard so, their superficial, poor miserable rich descendants could have kids, and spend their fortunes. Nevertheless, they should have some reproduction restrictions, because some of their genes have serious mutations.
She's not spoiled. She's very down to earth. She's not disloyal. She never even said her grandfather was greedy etc. And her being adopted shouldn't have anything to do with it. That's just messed up. It's very obvious that there are a lot of people on here who hate the rich, and want to take it out on Nicole for being born into a rich family. Grow up.
I wish I had someone to pay my college tuition!! No debt!! What!! Warren said that his father didn't give him anything. He had to earn all that he has today. I respect his decision in not giving her all she wants. He knows she is privileged. He knows that because she has that name, that is all she will ever need. So let's see here: Buffet name. school paid, living expenses paid while in college and her color. She is more than well off.
She's just regular person, she's not like CEO of some business; she's just a "rich granddaughter." She is very down to earth in understanding how people feel and people should feel; don't you think?
This is not fair to warren buffet he is an extremely humble guy. He has lived in the same house for 50 years and drives a regular car to work every day. Warren buffet does not live or desire a lavish life and he expects his kids and his grandkids to do the same
also, her paintings sell for $8000 at times. She makes $40,000 a year just off paintings. Let's keep it real here, her paintings would not be worth that much without his name.. Honestly, she should have spoken to him about how she feels rather than going on TV shows and gushing out loud. Warren does not seem like the type that wants his personal business all over the internet.
I simply don't get your point..... How can you call someone an asshole if he has given most of his billions away in charity ?? He also has TAKEN care his responsibilities by educating his children (as well as grandchildren) ...... All the money which Warren earned was with his own .... More than that he has made countless people millionaires or quite rich.... I mean that anyone can simply buy berkshire hathaway shares and get the best return on their investments ..... What more do you want?
Wow, I think this young woman is amazing. If I had billions, I can't imagine not sharing it with my family and with the world. Who needs billions all to themselves? It's just ridiculous to me. Nicole is very wise and intelligent and grounded. He's doing the right thing in a way of course because she is clearly not spoiled but I think it's a little extreme. Just sayin'
@@santiagodespo9475 you mean charities to his friend's charity organisation who was involved with epstein. charity is just another word for evading taxes.
my grandparents had very little money,my granddad was a miner, but the gave everybody what the could, nobody knocked at their doors without getting something
I don't think it was right of her to go on the documentary "The Once Percent" & talk about her (adoptive) grandfather Warren and not speak to him about it beforehand. Warren is a private person and she should respect that. She blindsided him for her 2 mins of fame. Then she goes on Oprah and speaks about not having a piece of Warren's money. I think it's understandable why Warren would feel betrayed by her. But it's sad they couldn't work it out and reconcile. But we don't know the FULL story between them only what Nicole is saying.
Ah! You've got to love "the spin." "Successful Artist?" Right, And I'm "Donald Duck." She's sitting with Jaime Johnson (of 'Johnson & Johnson' fame & director of the documentary that she starred in) giving her "moral support."
why are people being so hard on her?.....she family for fucks sake, supposed to look after family.....she not asking for billions...ones dissin' her are just haters!!
if someone is willing to pay for your education you've already been given MORE than the majority, but i guess when you grow up with a sense of entitlement and expectation because your grandfather is Warren Buffet, this would happen.
Just because your grandpa's the richest investor in the world it doesnt necessarily mean you'll follow his footstep. Her granddad's passion is food for the self and her passion is food for the soul.Personally I dont think she was attacking her family.Certainly as a human being she had the moment of "Only If I'd have" but she adapted the attitude "Ah well".Beside we dont know the inside story of Buffet story hence we shouldnt judge her, or anyone for that matter(unless they're serial killers..)
She is one of the prettiest women I've ever seen. Interesting. I don't like her dredlocked hair (but love the length), and don't like her art, but in terms of pure intrinsic facial beauty, she's lovely.
@15Arigold That's pretty accurate. "New money is just old money that got away." I personally feel good when I learn that some super rich people still drive a used mini van and wear a $79 Casio watch. --- My richest year was also my most stressed out year. No thanks, I don't want to be rich, I want to be wealthy... and there's a big difference between the two. The wealthiest I have ever been was living in a $25.month shack on the beach in Mexico. Zero stress, happy, healthy. I miss that.
i think he is taking it too far. Yes he paid for their education...but he should also work to give them experiences of travel... to send them to programs that can enrich how they think and experience things. If you can't do that for your family that's kind of sad. Meanwhile you give your money to other charities who probably bilk his money and use it for their own personal enrichment and excesses. Who is to say some of those people who received his donation deserved anythng? Maybe some are poor because they have shitty attitudes or put themselves in that position. I am not saying he should leave them each 30 million dollars but give them a god damn field trip for their school; send them off to experience some part of the world to enirch their exposure. That's just my opinion.
What's wrong with her getting a job to travel. Her living expenses and college was paid. She has his last name. Geesh. She is alot better off than many people in society. Most people would just like their college paid. That would free up alot of debt.
I think she is being pretty honest, I would feel conflicted too, I remember asking my parents to cosign, only cosign, for a mortgage and was turned down. I ended up spending 200000 on rent. I would own the place now. I understand their rights but I would be lying if it didn't make me feel bitter. I am sure its hard to be around wealth, deal with the Buffet name and in the end just struggle.
You are right. I think it is natural to have feelings like that. I believe she will fully understand that in due time. But Buffet is just being himself.
If you feel bitterness towards your parents because they wouldn't co-sign your mortgage, then I feel sorry for them. If you're an adult, then you should be self-sufficient. Co-signing a mortgage is a big deal. If you can't pay for any reason, then they are on the hook to pay for your house.
Sounds like she was always money hungry. She never says "I asked my dad for stuff and when he couldn't give me I went to Grandpa." She went straight to the source. That must have annoyed Buffet. Not even Mary McCartney sounded so whiny when talking about how her dad Paul make them go to state schools. Nicole says she didn't know about the money growing up but she seems to have become obsessed. I think he recognized money would have turned her into Paris Hilton. Shame that he was so cold though.
My grandfather was a billionaire (wont say who), and he spoiled a lot of my uncles and aunts who ended up squandering his wealth after he passed away. A lot of my cousins are deadbeats who have not worked a day in their life. My parents refused money from my grandfather saying that it would make us weak if we just continually accepted money from him. I never understood my parents decision until a few years back. I ended up starting my own businesses (with my own money which I've earned ever since elementary school by distributing newspapers), after failing 3 times, I was able to succeed on my 4th business. I have now built multiple 7 to 8 figure businesses on my own with 0 help from relatives or my grandfathers immense wealth. My grandfather told me that good education is the most irreplaceable value. My mother taught me exactly how her father taught her to be successful. Honestly, this nicole buffet is entitled and extremely ungrateful. Her education was paid for, and yet she has the gall to even ask for more...
I agree. I have big dreams to establish wealth and pass it down but I will still keep the poor in my prospects and give a significant portion of my money to them.
My personal opinion is that you can see the resentment in her eyes. She wants the benefits of being with the ELITE so badly, that she can taste it. She needs to be HONEST and CANDID with herself, and amit that she wants the perks. Nicole wants to be one of those "spoiled kids" who benefits lavishly from the Buffett name. But at the end of the day; it's Buffett's money, and he can do WHATEVER he wishes to do with it. Nicole needs a copy of Kiyosaki's book, right about now
Warren didn't adopt Nicole; his son Peter did. Nicole hardly knew Warren. What Nicole said at 1:10-1:30 totally mischaracterizes Warren. That's not what bothered Warren. He objected to her portraying their relationship as something more than it was in order to further her own means-even though he agreed with the basic premise of the film (The One Percent) where she traded on their "relationship."
The whole purpose of working and making money is to leave something behind for your kids. I think he is one fucked up person. All the hard work and everything I do is for my daughter. To have billions and not use a tiny portion of it to make your daughter or grand daughter be able to live worry free is seriously sick.
EpicGamerWorld There is more than money you leave to your kids. What you need to give is education and a lesson for life. Teach to fish, don't give the fish. And she is not even blood related to Buffett, she was adopted by one of his son's ex-wife, after they were divorced.
EpicGamerWorld Given your name "EpicGamerWorld" I wouldn't expect much intelligence or wisdom from you. With the money he has, he can make a huge impact on the world so to him, his grand daughter is not his concern or his problem to try to please her and spoil her. He declared that he will give all his money to Bill Gates after his death (and probably make Bill Gates the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway) because Bill Gates is one of the only people in this world who can use the money for good and change the world to the better. Most other people are just too stupid to use that amount of money wisely. Just because her grandfather is a self-made rich man, that doesn't make her any more special than anyone else in the world. She is simply lucky enough to have been born to be his granddaughter.
I think she wrapped it up nicely at the end: "it's real." If she were given everything she asked for, she wouldn't be like everyone else, she wouldn't experience life the same way, it would rob her of living a "normal" life. All this would disconnect her from the reality the majority of people live in. I imagine her world be very lonely & dissatisfying.
Buffet is cold for that yes and don’t be fooled by the charity (tax write-off) he has given. Look into who he is and his business dealings. He knows this young woman would do things with that money he would not approve of. Wealth in her hands would change a lot of things he and men like him remain only to be the spear in our side. Psalm 59:2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, And save me from bloodthirsty men.
Warren Buffett is a great investor, but he's also a hypocrite. He didn't start out in life with nothing, others invested in him and he was able to grow that money over time. He chooses not to invest in his family other than basic needs. There's no telling what someone can do if given the chance that he's had. I also think that donating that much fortune to the Bill and Melinda Gates' Foundation was a mistake, considering it's run by a family that indulges in life's luxuries like renting a yacht for millions just for a vacation.
Buffett is largely self-made and has been working since he was a child of the depression. He earned $10,000 to help pay for college by doing a newspaper route for years. The main reason his marriage failed was because he worked 80 hours a week. So you're wrong. The one person you trust not to steal or screw up charitable donations is Bill Gates. Why would Bill Gates have any incentive to steal or waste any of it?
You realize that the money for a vacation like that does not come from their foundation, right? It's not like a foundation is your personal wallet just because it has your name.
c0der1020 Do you realise that these monstrously huge donations are also tax deductible? i.e. you get it back next financial year? not so glossy now huh??
I believe he took care of his own kids money issues and they work for him handling charity work and whatnot. I think she feels slighted by not being offered an easy well paying job with Warren. Warren's wife was much softer and she taught him be a little nicer to people.
Warren’s a cheap son of a so $ so!!! Amazing the second richest man still has some broke attitudes. It’s actually inspiring that even with many glaring flaws what a man like him could do what he’s done. AMERICA
I do think it was pretty cold to disown her,but I understand why.Warren Buffet has a very strong set of morals. He believes people should be judged by their accomplishments not their birth.Nicole Buffett just doesn't understand that. She just wants more money. She speaks about MONEY on an "EMOTIONAL LEVEL" and wishes she could be a "part of [the donations to charity]"If she really cared about the cause, she would donate money she earned herself or just be happy that the money is going to good cause.
He has "pledged" most of his wealth to Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (the largest charity in the world). btw as the head of Berkshire he is simply investing his company's money. The point is that Berkshire Hathaway has millions of shareholders (so all the money does not belong to Buffet).
I kind of agree with both top comments. On one hand - when you shower a person massive amounts of money without them having earned it you take their character away. With that money and in the time they spend it you will have robbed them of important survival skills. On the other hand I would not turn down an occasional gift now and then, like a vacation or an experience of some sort. Pleasure and pain - the balance of life :)
according to this video, and from how she thinks. i understand now why he didn't give her more. he did it totally right.

Sad thing is that these billionaires benefit from Coroparate welfare...they thrive off loans and receiving money from investors, banks and govt.
so why does she think she's entitled to a piece of her grandfather's fortune? she had her education and living expenses paid for while in school. that's pretty nice

money does not make you happy, im sure he would help paying medical bills if any of hes children got ill

Wikipedia:
Warren Buffett disowned his son Peter's adopted daughter, Nicole, in 2006 after she participated in the Jamie Johnson documentary, The One Percent.
I admire how Warren parented his kids. Training them not to be entitled brats but stand on their own two feet
Yeah. Right. I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.
Nicole has to remember: she is Not Warren Buffet's biological daughter. She should lead her own life, not clinging to Buffet surname.
Corrected granddaughter I meant
tien ha But she's still a Buffet.
+Tim Shweaty These are adults, and they were not spoiled. He is punishing them for not following his steps.
"A free college education, what more could you ask for!!!"
To be free to explore and reach your full potential as a loving and thinking human being, and to share the experience of life with other loving and thinking human beings.
Because of this he wrote that she wasn't his own.
warren buffet disowned her this is old af
Man, she looks like Susie, Jr.
So?
Wtf this supposed to mean... blood or no blood... after adaption she is his granddaughter!
And it seems to me she was just very honest in this interview about the situation... I will be also a little bit bothered if my grandpa would be billionaire and I would not feel his support ... not only financially but also Emotionally, what after I listen this interview, it’s very obviously that he’s not supported of her at all!!!
She had a 6 digit a month trust fund until she did this interview and got cut off & disowned! She’s so full of it.
But she should have that,
Bullshit

There are literal pictures of her and Buffet lmao yeah she seems entitled but Buffet was obviously cold for saying that imagine your grandpa telling you to piss off
Yeah but its not even technically his grandaughter at all.
I'm confused doesn't inheritance normally flow to her father first and her father can leave her inheritance if he wants to? Or am I missing something?
I had the greatest and the sweetest grandfather who always gave me his love and his time, while my country paid for my education. I can't imagine the emotional void when your closest family is just judgmental.
I disagree with the other comments here. Anyone would have resentment knowing that your mega billionaire grandfather doesn`t help his own family financially (we know why he does it but if you are her is not easy to leave emotions aside)
I think she was smart and able to rationalise through it.
I went to high school with Nicole, she always seemed nice to me. I always though she was related to Jimmy Buffett.
Her body language speaks of resentment.

+Alexander Herzen and other ones? the marriage of Ivanka trump and Kushner is a business one? How fake can one be in a marriage?
I don't understand all the comments on here emphasizing the fact she was adopted. So what? She's still legally his granddaughter. Many people in my family were adopted. Do they not deserve the same benefits and equal treatment the biological members do?
All Warren money he earned was by his own self, yes he did got a great start by his dad, who show him stock market in his early year. He should maybe offer her a job at his firm, but she don't deserved it off the bat. She got her expense paid with a full ride to college, she should be great with that.

Giving them everything they need and then taking it away is setting them up for failure. She doesn't need to be super rich but I think she should have peace of mind. Isn't that what we all strive for, us and our family?

Buffett is about as great of a man as there ever has been. The man has given as much to his fellow man as just about anyone there has ever been.
Well, she's his adopted grandchild, whatever that means. And he disowned her. From Wikipedia:

Their crook or opportunists ancestors without scruples worked hard so, their superficial, poor miserable rich descendants could have kids, and spend their fortunes. Nevertheless, they should have some reproduction restrictions, because some of their genes have serious mutations.
I love her attitude, she seems like a very sweet chill down to earth woman
She's not spoiled. She's very down to earth. She's not disloyal. She never even said her grandfather was greedy etc. And her being adopted shouldn't have anything to do with it. i think he is taking it too far.
+garvoi I am with you 100%. If they pay full tuition for others, why not allow them to become rich.
What's wrong with her getting a job to travel. Her living expenses and college was paid. She has his last name. Geesh. She is alot better off than many people in society. Most people would just like their college paid. That would free up alot of debt.
The whole point is ... you don't need money. Learn the value of money, never be a slave to it.

Warren didn't adopt Nicole; his son Peter did. Nicole hardly knew Warren. What Nicole said at 1:10-1:30 totally mischaracterizes Warren. That's not what bothered Warren. EpicGamerWorld so she could end up like all those rich kid assholes that never had to work a day?? You are one logical and smart man.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Buffet is cold for that yes and don’t be fooled by the charity (tax write-off) he has given. Look into who he is and his business dealings. He knows this young woman would do things with that money he would not approve of. Wealth in her hands would change a lot of things he and men like him remain only to be the spear in our side.
Psalm 59:2
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, And save me from bloodthirsty men.
He's given away $48 billion. So, that's a big tax write off.
you're right but since Buffet's money is in the market and Gate's is mostly in Microsoft when the stocks rises they are the richest.
It's not like a foundation is your personal wallet just because it has your name.
c0der1020 Do you realise that these monstrously huge donations are also tax deductible? i.e. you get it back next financial year? not so glossy now huh??
c0der1020 unless your name is Clinton
***** or Bush or Bush or......
She is the daughter of Warren's ex daughter in law, that his son, Peter adopted.
I don't understand why Oprah doesn't help out the poor people of Chicago. She seems to help everyone else out. After everything Chicago did for her...
While he may not leave them an Massive Fortune, he most certainly has given the family charities generous salaries
She should be working for him!
If she was his real granddaughter, I'd feel shocked and disconcerted, but since she's not, I don't care.
