    You couldn't pay me a monthly salary to own 4Matic. Why so many people are willing to buy AWD and own 1 car for the price of 2 is totally beyond me.
    A small percentage of these people's cars will ever see conditions that actually require AWD. 90% of them are driving 10 mph under the limit on slightly wet pavement at worst. Get proper tires instead, and free yourself from ludicrously unnecessary failures like this.

      I had the second gen 4 matic in an E430 -01. It was great. Could just stomp on the throttle during almost any situation and the car just took off.
      Didnt add a single problem to that car even after +250k miles.
      Quite the contrary.. actually 1 problem was removed on that model with 4 matic.. spring perch failure from rust. Something the 4 matic never suffered from due to a more heavy duty construction.
