Red Stripe Beer was reformed dude, Heineken USA owns literally most of the company, so there are changes in the bottle, even the taste of the beer. You gotta go to Jamaica to get an even better taste from the Brewery in Jamaica.
I totally agree. I'm very skeptical of any import, nowadays. I literally inspect the bottle before I buy to find out where it was brewed - and have put quite a few back on the shelf because it was an "import" brewed in the USA. Thanks for watching and commenting and if you haven't SUBBED yet, please do. Check out some more of my 100+ Brew Reviews and CHEERS!
Heineken owns a lot of those classic ones we used to like imported back in the day unfortunately. They also have the Slavic beer golden pheasant under their belt now too Kind of like the great Italian beer peroni is owned by Budweiser now.
I checked this beer out because a 6 pack was like 10 bucks so why not? Not a bad beer, it is kind of citrusy, kind of tart, but not overly bitter or anything. Never been to jamaica, but it is an alright beer. It has become one of my favorites.
Darn good to have you on board and part of the team! Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope to continue to entertain. What is your favorite and least favorite beer? CHEERS!
I’m coming back to this review, I found Red Stripe in 24 oz bottles at one of my local package stores. The back label states: “Brewed & bottled by Desnoes & Geddes Limited, Kingston, Jamaica”. So there’s that for the curious.
Pale straw color, clear. Two foam fingers with low retention. Very distinct cereal aroma. Sweet taste, very light cereal and metallic aftertaste. Watery body. Another super industrial Pale Lager.
Great review! I've never had Red Stripe. There was a little store had 3 six packs of it on the shelf for years. Every couple of months or so I'd swipe my finger in the dust to monitor the progress. Eventually the store closed and I assume the Red Stripe was thrown away.
I picked up a six pack of Red Stripe at our local liquor store. I'm always up for trying a different beer at random. Sometimes I'll do that when I go out and buy some Miller. As long as it's not dark German beer or Belgium beer, then I usually end up liking it.
Keep coordinating the outfits and please review Bells Two Hearted Ale. With so many IPAs out there, you really must try “Americas #1 beer...” It just might shock your tastebuds back.
Fashion is a passion! lol. Bells makes good beer but I've never had the Two Hearted. I'll get in the hunt for it. Thanks for watching and commenting and if you haven't subscribed already, please do. CHEERS!
Enjoying your videos and humour pal ! From here in Canada, yes I've bought a 6 pack of red stripe twice in the past 10 years, rather expensive up here and not worth it but a novelty for the bottles I guess. I really liked that you found labatt blue for a review and I agree with your approval of it, for the price it is one of the best tasting value beers in Canada but I must say that I don't find it very sessionable, its rather filling and not a pound it back beer in my opinion. Id love to see you try a few other cheap Canadian brews like molson Canadian (terrible, worse than heineken or busch) upper Canada lager (a hidden super cheap gem) old style pilsner (a cheap prarie classic that I got sick off of once lol), and perhaps the greatest in terms of value of them all, James Ready 5.5. Happy chugging !
@A Beer Snob's Cheap Brew Review happy to give a few suggestions and thanks for your reply 👍 I live in central Ontario, an area called Muskoka, about 2.5 hours north of Toronto. I also saw you dared to drink busch heavy and busch normal lol, but what about busch ice? Literally the least intrusive diet beer ever, soo cheap, and comparable to those other 4 percent low cal beers. I can tell you like more bang for your buck alcohol % wise but hey, if ppl want an absolutely downable cheap summer beer, busch light (I call it a busch latté lol). Beer costs more up here so I can appreciate a wide variety of "value" beers. Rock on man 🤟
Once i heard this guy say the Red Stripe bottles are getting smaller ... i know he is a certified beer drinker ... you know your stuff man. Red Stripe lost its unique taste because it now says imported on the bottle they only use the brand jamaica to sell the product now.
The Red Stripe today tastes different than it did a decade ago. I am not sure if the brew is entirely different, but it definitely was smoother a decade ago and I actually dont like the current stuff out on shelves. I just had one yesterday at a buddies and even the good memories of the beer were overshadowed by this taste now. RIP Red Stripe. Im sort of a lager and Oktoberfest beer purist and Red Strip no longer makes the cut.
Yeah, it does taste a bit off from a few years ago, and definitely different than ON TAP in Jamaica. Thanks for watching and commenting and if you haven't SUBBED yet, please do. Grab a beer and check out more of my 130+ Brew Reviews and let me know what you think. CHEERS!
You've got a very good eye for Euro soccer kits and nailed my favorite A'dam team. I toured the Heineken brewery when I was in Amsterdam and THAT story is coming soon...CHEERS!
To be fair, I’m from Amsterdam, so I have an unfair advantage on recognition. Red Stripe was always a favorite in college, most likely because of the marketing... Excellent story on your experiences on Jamaica, this is great stuff, I’ve never been, so you bring it to life for us.

Once again another beer that used to be better. I don’t know what they did to Red Stripe other than steal it’s soul. Thanks for the support. CHEERS!
“Lost all sense of head” - dang, that’s a shame.
Great review, enjoyable as always. Cheers!
Love to get my hands on some merch.
The struggle is real. As always, thanks for your support! Now go drink a beer! CHEERS!
I like this lager. Have you ever tried their Dragon Stout?
I have had Dragon Stout, but it's been so long I don't remember much about it. CHEERS!
if you come to England we have a restaurant called Tuttle bay that sells this on tap the only resturant in the uk that does this

Evan Williams Bottled-In-Bond 100 proof. Not normally what I drink, but it kicks it up nicely when mixed. CHEERS!

Good review. Red Stripe isn't bad from time to time. Cheers 🍻
Sadly, it's not as good as it used to be. CHEERS!
Red stripe is pretty good. Not the best but far from the worst.
Yep. Pretty vanilla. Was hoping for more. Thanks for watching and commenting and if you haven't SUBSCRIBED already, please do. CHEERS!
The Canadian old school stubby was 11.5oz
Drank a quantity of the Stripe on my honeymoon Caribbean cruise shortly after I realized I didn't care for cruises one little bit.
I havnt had a red stripe in years … apparently it’s not the same as it used to be ? Used to be very hoppy and yeasty

My favorite beer
Muito bom vídeo!
I used to like this beer but the last few times I tried it it did not taste very good. I do believe they changed the recipe (for the worse)

I mean, its nothing to write home about. But its a good "Cutting The Grass" beer. Its not bad when its ice cold and 100F outside.
I hope you realize just by holding it up that "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, mon!"
I am Jamaican and have been drinking it for 20 years. It does not taste the same. They must have changed the recipe.
Lmao those jamaicans were hitting the wrays in the red stripe
I have one in the fridge.
It's been there for quite a while.......

Jamaica AND the Cayman Islands, too (my last beach Red Stripe). CHEERS!
red stripe from the cans in the uk is the best lager, so smooth

I actually like this beer. Just saying 😅
When I had this beer, it tasted like a mouthful of pennies. Didn't help that I had the bottle of one somehow cut my lip open
It was the canadian brew
This is spot on, I just had one yesterday and didnt even want to finish it for that reason. Who wants to drink penny lager?
Watching you pour that beer made me cringe mate
I am a Jamaican and they messed up the beer
I agree. It's really been back-and-forth the past few years. What is a good Jamaican alternative I can try? Thanks for your SUB and support! CHEERS!

They should call it "flat butt"
Flat Butt? lol.
Try malt liqua
Modelo light... Is my comparison. First time I heard or drank it.. 4/27/23🤨 didn't hate it, didn't like it..
Adding 100 proof bourbon to 114 proof bourbon is a bad thing. Just sayin'. ;-)
Some days you just need a little more. lol. CHEERS!
