I remember getting this game a whole week before its official release. It officially came out September 17, I got it September 13. I walked into a store that was known for getting games earlier and asked about it. The employee told me they managed to get 4 copies and he already had buyers for 3 of them, told me that if I waited for the games to arrive, he'd sell it to me. I waited and yes, they did indeed sold me a copy. I called 4 of my friends and let them know I had the game. They all came over and we spent the whole weekend playing the game with pizzas, sugary drinks and all sorts of snacks. Absolute blast. Definitely one of my favorite memories.
it is, tangerine dream did perfect job also it fits perfectly into the atmosphere, radios were great, but that was not so surprising knowing gta franchise :) yet for me, music in gtaV is a big part and i had to look up for so many tracks :)
Probably the best part of this game is the three character mechanic because it allowed them to make the characters less generic and have more distinct personality than if there was only one like in past GTA's. Micheal is the GTA protagonist that "made it" he's got the money, he's not dead, he's not in prison, but even though he's rich he's completely miserable. If you could play a GTA game post-credits Micheal would be the result, his character is a lot like Tony Sopranos, sold his soul to make it to the top, but is dissatisfied by what he finds. Franklin calls back to San Andreas which was about gangbanging culture in the 90s at it's peak, but with the complete reverse perspective. While CJ wanted to protect his family, friends and his neighborhood and live by the creed, Franklin rejects all of that meaning his peers constantly call his loyalty into question. It's through meeting Micheal that he gets his shot to rise up learning about "white-collar crime" as he gets mentored in taking really big scores. He's arguably the "mainest" of the main characters because he's constantly learning from Micheal and Trevor who have completely different value systems and needs to choose his own path as he begins to see just how messed up they both are Trevor is the GTA PLAYER. The maniac holding the controller that wants to let loose and open fire into the crowd of NPCs drive bikes off of 50 foot cliffs and get into shootouts with a legion of police as they run from the law. In past games with 1 protagonist it was always dissonant to go on these patented "GTA rampages" because the character you're playing as usually has redeemable traits that prevent them from hurting people for no reason at all, but not Trevor. He's complete insanity, but there is more to him because he serves as this beacon of honesty. Trevor knows who he is and for better or worse he owns it completely which sets him apart from this satirical city based on LA arguably one of the fakest places in the world and from Micheal who can be extremely duplicitous. It plays into the game's main theme of honesty vs deceit.
Kinda messed up to think people play this just to shoot people. Trevor does not represent the gta player. That's messed up and kinda insulting. He always entertained me but disgusted me. Never like playing him outside of a few elements.
Each protagonist is quite different and unique in many ways. The description above isn't really correct, so I'll try to make a few things straight: Michael - he's a really oldschool type of guy that loves classic action movies (and sometimes he sinks too much into his own world there). Once a successful heister, now a retired member of witness protection after failed heist - that allowed him to (at least) try start a new life with his family, which doesn't worked as he did think of it. Back days he was one of the best at his job, but now he feels miserable, because he still lives the old times (heists and his passion for the old movies - the only things that he's good at) and can't find himself in a new setting (being retired) - especially with his trouble-making family and FIB on his neck. That's why he's trying to at least do something about his life (i.e. therapy), but he can't find any good ways to do it. Franklin - a young black man that is trying to impress everyone around, especially his crush, but don't know how to do that. He's a part of a gang 'Grove Street', which his buddy Lamar is living it - that of course doesn't interest Franklin too much, since he's seeking for reasonable job - or at least a good way to earn good money and not being screwed or dead by 'briliant Lamar's ideas'. He's loyal, but kinda hate his neighbour friends (mostly gang members) for often being dumb, living the past too much (the 80-90's hood/gang) and strongly wasting their lifes (i.e. on drugs and alcohol). He still don't know many things, but he's trying his best to learn - especially from Michael, which became a mentor for him. Franklin does love cars and fast driving. Trevor - ex-military pilot with some serious mental issues. His childhood is a mess - just like him. Simply a man that you don't want to meet ever in your life. I think we can call him a true insane redneck that can't be controled. Trevor thinks that he can outsmart everyone - and if he can't, he'll just simply take what he wants. He was a part of a heist group with Michael, but he thought that Michael is dead. Trevor doesn't care about hygiene, naturaly provokes, push or force people around - also kill them. His 'big business' company (making and dealing drugs) is all what he have and what he cares about. He thinks that he's a very important person, but at the same time kinda noone really wants to be his friend. For sure police and local bike gang 'The MC Losts' knows him and hate for existing (like probably many, many other people). GTA Universe is really complex and overall well designed - full of satire, risky topics or jokes. A lot of things in GTA is very stereotypical, which can be well noticed by the characters and environment. Not everything makes normal sense, so seeking to connect all dots together (to find reasons/sense) seem to be pointless - some things works better, some not at all. There's a lot of details hidden everywhere, which (by the time) explains more things (like relations between protagonists and other characters). Even the fact, that Trevor is a such outstanding character really fits the GTA Universe and its logic.
@@Gnossiene369 I mean it is a good description, it's not insulting cause if he didn't represent gta players then his rampage missions wouldn't have been in the game. Yes, many gta fans are in it for the story and don't hold any connection to Trevor, but just as many want to go on fictional rampages, because it's a staple of GTA both in its name and its reputation that your playing a criminal, and it's not insulting to compare that with Trevor

When gta v first came out I started playing it when I was 7😂 I couldn’t when I was 17 and now 18 now I can hope you guys have a good day gta v is my favorite game of all time
Michael's character trailer has to be my favorite. I think his whole character can be summed up in that line from Queen's "Radio Ga Ga" that's playing in the background: "You had your time, you had the power, you've yet to have your finest hour."
Let me just tell you guys , that this game was released in 2013 AND it's still active to this day , big streamers play it called GTA 5 RP-aka RolePlaying server. -Where everyone in this big open world City/Desert/Farm land etc.... Been playing since day 1 which was September 17th 2013 and I’ve played the story mode well over 50 times and maybe even 100, online is cool and all but it’s the writing, story and characters for the main story mode that make it endlessly playable for me, favourite character for me is Michael but I love all 3
You two may not be going to play this game on the channel, but though not being a Patreon (you would deserve it, because your reactions are real good, but am already a high-tier Pat for another of my fav Tubers), I would really recommend watching a compilation of all the game's cutscenes, if any Tuber have made one, that is. It's like a real good movie. ^^
We will most likely play this on our channel. We are doing more livestreams and hope to play two games a week two days a week on the channel going forward. Also thanks for kind words about channel and we have been thinking about Patreon but not sure how best to approach it. 🤗😇🥳
GTA 5 is definitely one of my favorites lol. Trevor cracks me up with how friggen crazy he is hahahaha. he is definitely one of my favorite characters to switch to when playing the story mode because you can swap between all 3 characters and its hilarious what you see Trevor up to before you start playing as him hahahahaha. One time he woke up in his underware hung over on top of a mountain in the wilderness when i swapped to him.
No matter what you're enjoying playing at any given time, this is the game you put every other game aside for (well, it was for me when I was younger). So addictive! There's a new enhanced and extended version of it coming in November for the next gen consoles, which should look amazing... Would love to see you both react to all the trailers for Red Dead Redemption 2 sometime, which is another treasure made by the same company that made the GTA games. That game is breathtaking!
I remember the first trailer (or at least first I saw that came out) with Radio Gaga playing and the game looked so colourful and vibrant after what felt like so long with rumours and speculation (nothing compared to now) and then finally to actually play. I can't believe it's nearly 10 years ago. We really need GTA 6 soon
Out of these 3 characters, Trevor is my favorite so far.I know he's the most cracked, the serial killer and who's enjoying torturing people etc. but I love how he's reacting and doing everything different than the others. He's used to fly planes when he was in the military (air force) so that's why he's good at flying stuffs. Also he's very honest at everything because he's not questinoing himself while doing those things.Atleast he didn't try to use an old friend's dead body for hiding himself unlike Michael ha.Don't worry I also love Michael's personality too.He became rich after all these things (North Yankton) with hiding his death and changing his sourname Townley to De Santa -that's why it take a lil bit long time for Trevor to finding him in LS- Well, he tried to make the things good with his family but he didn't get the succes at all.His son and daughter's not loving him that much and his wife (Amanda) is not caring about what he's doin'.Getting into stealing, being a fraud makes it worse with his family.Let's talk about Franklin. He's a classical GTA protagonist right, he sell drugs with his friend Lamar. He's not thirsty for killing people unlike Trevor but if he has to do it he won't even gonna blink while doing it -we've seen it in ending A and B so well- Also he's good at driving cars, good at racing with people and he's a very supportive and useful friend during the robbings etc.
The first time I saw the presentation of GTA V before playing it, I also thought the same as Bethany that Trevor was the character that best fit into that plot full of crime, chaos and madness and to this day I still think the same way.
GTA Online kept expanding since its first release in 2013 and they released a lot of DLCs, each one with its own 1 minute trailer, they're really cool to watch, you can check those, the new one is being released next week
So a theory I read way back in the day is that the three protagonists of GTA5 represent three different kinds of GTA protagonists. Franklin, the young black guy, is the classic GTA protagonist, an up and coming young crook who goes from rags to riches. Michael, the family man going through the mid-life crisis, is the GTA protagonist AFTER he became a success. He starts the game long after the heist that made him rich and successful, and now he doesn't know what to do with himself, hence his mid-life crisis. Trevor is the GTA protagonist as played by Human Player. He goes on random killing sprees with little to no consequences to himself, just like players are wont to do between missions.
What's crazy is this game is still going and if you want to enjoy a calm session with your friends in cars you can do a friend's only lobby. I personally do friends only so I can focus on the multiple business angles from owning the nightclub to running a arcade and selling stolen goods. Saving up for a Yacht takes forever though
You guys should definitely watch all the Deathloop trailers, Looks like a very great and interesting game with a twisting concept, would love to see your reactions!!
GTA5 has always been on my list of games I must try, but was never able to get around to doing so. If it comes up on sale on Steam soon, I might pick it up. Also, if you're into collectable card games, you should react to some of the champion reveals for Legends of Runeterra, which is the card game spinoff of League of Legends. The reveals are grouped up into the expansions they came in (So Call of the Mountain has Taric, Lulu, Trundle, Nocturne, Leona, Diana, and Aurelion Sol, while Empires of the Ascended has Renekton, Jarvan IV, Taliyah, Lissandra, Nasus, Kindred, Sivir, LeBlanc, and Azir).
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames It's actually my main from League of Legends (the character I mostly play as), Irelia. She's really cool, but slightly overtuned at the moment, she's actually getting a nerf on tomorrow's patch.
Many years ago a core memory was created playing the online version of gta5 for the first time. Having such a hard time getting on it had so many bugs, but eventually managed to get on. I was driving around the world and went into a convenient store then an online player came in and robbed it, as an idiot just watched the illegal transaction go down. After that deal was done and all parties had left the store I was left with the heat to contend with as I became a wanted man by the police. I immediately vacated the premises only to find police with itchy trigger fingers, as I make my way back to my vehicle I see the same person who, robbed the store, getting in my vehicle and speeding away. Sadly enough I ended with a bullet in my head.😵
My favorite character to play in GTA V is the online character imperatorfuriosa a character of my creation. Lvl 120 with every dang vehicle that fires a rocket, and all the muscle cars to boot. I get on that game and just drive long laps around the city, and even just that is fun. Then when some fool blows up my streetcar it just devolves into weaponized vehicles that fly or go underwater, have rocket boosts, parachutes, dual driver controlled rooftop mounted rotating miniguns. It can be fun.
The GTA V update trailers from 2013 to 2022 show kinda how GTA Online developed into an even better game. Its actually insane how far this game has come.
One of my fave Twitch streamers is Ash on LOL: an australian streamer who usually plays League of Legends but has mostly focused on GTA5 Online recently. She has an entire slew of friends who role play and live life in Los Santos. Societal events, relationships, heists, day to day jobs, etc. they do it all. IT plays out like reality tv. One good episode is when she gets kidnapped by a cult. GTA4 is good. Niko Belic is a character that if you are a GTA fan, need to experience. Franklin, is my fave in GTA5 probably because of my love for GTA San Andreas.
Hey I sometimes see your videos late but you should also check out the online trailers aswell. It’s the trailers for the new content the developers add in. They could add to the story and add more hiest and characters. All about robbing casinos and sneaking I. Private islands and stealing of Rich’s drug lords etc it’s really shows you that it’s an almost limitless word with many opportunities
Did anyone else notice how they used the hydra instead of the lazer in atleast that one scene from the second trailer, when the hydra wasn't released until later in gta online?

We will most likely play this on our channel. We are doing more livestreams and hope to play two games a week two days a week on the channel going forward. Also thanks for kind words about channel and we have been thinking about Patreon but not sure how best to approach it. 🤗😇🥳
"give me a guy that sounds like ray liotta". Pretty funny considering ray liotta was the voice for the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto Vice City
😂🤗
Congrats on 50k you kooky, crazy kids!
Thanks so much! 🥳🥳🤗
Lmao love that they have stories that continue when you check in on them 😃
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yeah 😂😂
No matter what you're enjoying playing at any given time, this is the game you put every other game aside for (well, it was for me when I was younger). So addictive! There's a new enhanced and extended version of it coming in November for the next gen consoles, which should look amazing... Would love to see you both react to all the trailers for Red Dead Redemption 2 sometime, which is another treasure made by the same company that made the GTA games. That game is breathtaking!
Plan to check more RDR2 stuff out for sure 😎
This was just the trailer reaction i was looking for!
😊🥳
People still playing this game...this game is masterpiece
😎🤟🥳
I went nuts when I realized Simon in walking dead was Trevor in GTA 5.
😯
Michael: "Why did I move here"
Me: to cause mayhem, oh nevermind, that Trevor.
YES THEY REACTED TO GTA5 IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!
8 years later still the king 👑 Rockstar ❤️❤️❤️
😎🤟
"I Think You Need A New Therapist.."
Kent and bethany:Hahahahah😂😂
I Laugh Too The Way You Guys Laugh😂
"constantly developing" that was the biggest true ever xD

GTA V is one of the best games it's still evolving to this day great game if you guys decide to play it, all 3 characters are great to me 💯
Looking forward to experience 😃
I’ve been playing this game since it came out yet the trailers are STILL getting me hyped.
😎🤟🥳
Another great reaction, thanks.
🥰🤗
15:26 My favorite argument I told my parents about GTA
😎🤟
Bethany wincing at every act of violence 😆
🫣🤗
GTA is still my fav game after 6 years 🤩🤩 I finnaly hit level 7000 thank you guys for reacting to this :):):)
Our pleasure 😊🥳
Much love to you guys!
Thanks so much! 😃🥳🥳
Good vibes in every video of yours, love it!! 🥂
Hard to believe this game came out in 2013, and is STILL one of the most popular games today.
😯🤯
Watching this trailer make me wanna complete the game again
😊🤩
This was like heaven for me at one time 😭
Hopefully GTA 6 is somewhere in the near future. 🤗
Appreciating you giving us some more background info on characters and why you like them 🙂
I got the game pretty early on but I never actually seen the trailers. This really takes me back
☺️
The first time I saw the presentation of GTA V before playing it, I also thought the same as Bethany that Trevor was the character that best fit into that plot full of crime, chaos and madness and to this day I still think the same way.
GTAV is great and online is absolute chaos. Great video
😎🤟🥳
GTA Online kept expanding since its first release in 2013 and they released a lot of DLCs, each one with its own 1 minute trailer, they're really cool to watch, you can check those, the new one is being released next week
Thanks for letting us know . We do plan to check those out in the future 😀 Is their a schedule for how often they generally release new content? 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames usually a smaller dlc in the summer and a bigger one just before christmas
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames why you dont playing
That’s a really cool theory and probably spot on 😃
they should make this type of video with all GTA'S certainly I would watch them all
6:35 Oh you are.
I just realized GTA5 5 had trailers I just also realized that gta had trailers 🤯🤯🤯
😂
I like that Jurassic Park VR game idea
Let’s make it happen 😃🥳🤗
Is funny you mentioned Ray Liotta cause he gave voice to "Tommy Vercetti" protagonist of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Fitting they got him for one of the characters in this franchise ☺️😎🤟
What's crazy is this game is still going and if you want to enjoy a calm session with your friends in cars you can do a friend's only lobby. I personally do friends only so I can focus on the multiple business angles from owning the nightclub to running a arcade and selling stolen goods. Saving up for a Yacht takes forever though
Ooh gta 5, this is gonna be fun
😎🤟🥳
You guys should definitely watch all the Deathloop trailers, Looks like a very great and interesting game with a twisting concept, would love to see your reactions!!
Have it on our list to check out 😊
Great reaction guys ❤️
Thanks! 🥰🤗🥳
I would have been even happier if you had also reacted to the trailer for the dlc updates. greetings from germany 😁✌
We need to see all the online stuff at some point 😅
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Do you intend to do this as a full-time job someday? 😊
3:56 - See no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil.
GTA awesome reaction Ken and Bethany I love the GTA games
Haven’t played since San Andreas. Need to get to it 😀
Id give anything to go back to 2011
☺️
We do enjoy some card games. And plan on checking out some more Runeterra stuff. Also you switched up your avatar and fooled us for a second 😂🤗
Damn. Well done leveling up that character 😎🤟
Y'all gotta react to the GTA 6 trailer when it comes out!
The GTA V update trailers from 2013 to 2022 show kinda how GTA Online developed into an even better game. Its actually insane how far this game has come.
I can’t really play Online because it’s always laggy for me!
But the main story is really good! I would recommend getting it!
Great video!
We do want to play main story more than online mode 😃
GET READY FOR THE GTA 6 TRAILER!
😎🤟
I haven't been able to play online but if you go offline you create a character and fill the Fourth spot on the character wheel
Sees Trevor Trailer: i think im gonna like this guy"
Welcome to the club, we all do lol
Haha 🤗
Will you be going left 4 dead 1 and 2 cinematic intros ? 🤩
Yes just not sure when 😇
So many nostalgic memories
☺️
Well... On the plus side, GTA6 was confirmed to be in development earlier today. :)
No way really? 😀 Finally 🥳🥳🍾🥂

🥰🤗
Ray Liota actually voiced the main character of GTA Vice City
😎👍😃
game is 10 years old its hard to find a reaction which makes me hope GTA 6 comes out very soon
a popular game til this day 🏅
😎🤟🤩
Hey Awesome Reaction
Thanks! 🥰🤗🥳
We plan on checking those out. And it’s okay being late. Our videos are always here for whenever you have time 🙂🥳
Ray Liotta was already a voice actore for Tommy Vercetti in GTA Vice City
😎👍🙂
You guys should totally react to all the GTA online updates trailers.
Yup seems like that will happen at some point now 😁
Did anyone else notice how they used the hydra instead of the lazer in atleast that one scene from the second trailer, when the hydra wasn't released until later in gta online?
Are you guys gonna react to the cutscenes?
Ray Liotta Voiced the protagonist Tommy Vercetti in Grand Theft Auto Vice City back in 2002
One of the greatest games of all time
