      As of October 15th, 2020 Walmart Canada no longer does price matches to reduce time at cash out. Maybe change later after pandemic restrictions.

      For international calls, you can buy add-ons from your existing telecom provider which will cost cheaper. You need to talk with the sales rep and negotiate terms before buying a number with them regarding "international/long-distance calling minutes".
      In Virgin mobiles, they offer 1000 minutes of long-distance calls to 10 countries including India. It costs literally $0 extra as it comes within your plan if you negotiated "Bonus 1000 LD minutes".

      Yup but there are alot of other stores that still do it. Flipp app is not only restricted to Walmart.

      Couple more points. Always buy a used car. Even if you can afford it buying new car is a waste of money. Buy one that has low Kms on It so you can take advantage of the depreciation. Second if you have to take a loan take it for the least amount of time e.g. take car loan for 3 years vs 5 years. Home mortgage for 15 years vs 30 years. Next tip - be pound wise and penny foolish and not other way round. Lot of people focus on saving on small things but forget on big items. My advice is focus more on big items like house and car where you can save a lot in one go. Last shop around for interest rates and insurances as these can save you lot of money. I could go on but it would take up too much space 😊 so will end now

    Very good tips, I’d like to add 2 MEGA tips to this list.
    1. Try to get out of Full time jobs and instead do contract work or own a business. You are able to save the MOST by being able to deduct your expenses that you’d be doing anyways. In Canada it’s not about how much money you make, but about how much money you keep.
    2. Never look at your principal house as an Investment. Your investment in Real estate starts from your 2nd property onwards.

    Great video!
    I'd like to add two more points:
    Along with Dollarama, consider shopping from Value Village; the latter is a second-hand store and you can get household items of good quality there as well (e.g. some appliances, linen, utensils, etc.).
    Try shopping mostly from factory outlets, especially for winter wear. Good brands like The North Face and Columbia usually offer heavy discounts at factory outlets.

    Please add a disclaimer that is about living in the Toronto region, not the rest of Canada.
    For example, Ottawa/Montreal, the insurance for a car can be 25-100 per month, not 900 per month. My insurance is 100 per month for 2 cars.

    Qq, are there no apartments in Canada ? I always hear about renting basements and never apartments. In US new desis and even older ones stay in apartments. Another advice is stay away from Costco. Yes in theory it is cheaper but you end up buying a lot more things once you are in Costco. We used to go to Costco primarily to buy milk and eggs and came out with bill of $200-300 because we bought so many things not in list. So Costco is a money pit ! Beware.

      This video is about Toronto not all of Canada. There are apartments to rent, I rented an apartment for 3 years, never a basement and saved much more than basement (I did not need a car, I was connected to the subway line and had grocery stores across from me).
      There are talking about their experience living in suburbs of Toronto.

    • @amitb1072
      @amitb1072 3 года назад +2

      @@joecannes got it. Thanks for the clarification. Canada is a huge country and not one size fits all , so it makes sense. May be they should add a caveat that it’s for someone living in Toronto suburbs.
