This was a great video. It was very helpful because he breaks down the CGC grading systems with real examples. A great way to visualize and conceptualize the grading process. Thanks for the great video.

When you say a book looks perfect, why did it only get a 9.6, you're not taking into consideration all 20 plus interior pages. Those interior pages also account for the overall score.

This was immensely helpful for me. I'm an eBay reseller with ample experience submitting coins to NGC/PCGS, but I'm in uncharted territory when it comes to an assorted lot of 200+ comics I recently picked up at an estate sale. Your video gives me a practical reference for grade ranges when listing on eBay, as I don't think most of the comics I purchased rise to the level of being sent to the graders. Added to favorites and subscribed. Thank you.

Thanks for the video. There's not enough of these on the internet. Sometimes I just need some examples to look at to give me an idea of what I'm jumping into.

Thanks for sharing this! I’ve been a comic book collector for decades and I’m new to the CGC grading. Debating about whether I’ll eventually send some of my books off that I think are worth the cost of shipping. 🤔

Very glad to have found this video. Real examples definitely helped. I returned a comic that had a small but noticable surface scratch but very clean corners and edges, even nice corners on the binding. Just received another copy that had very clean edges and corners, except the corners by the binding. I guess I wont be returning this one if that is supposedly overlooked even for a 9.8.

On the Omega Men 3 9.6 I did see a small blunt of the front cover top left corner. You may also look for fingerprints that are barely noticeable without a black light flashlight. Also consider buying and using magnifying glasses withaminimum of 10ww

Really informative video. I think that it would be useful if CGC 'ALWAYS' provided grader notes stating what precluded the comic from getting a higher grade. That would at least answer your Omega Man question, rather than the certification just stating 'grader notes unavailable'.

Good question. If it is a modern book and estimated at that value a lot of times if its not a 9.8 its impossible to sell if you ever did want to. If you want it graded because you love it and it means something to you I would say go for it.

Not sure if you would know this or not but if you take a book that was graded by one of the other companies like CBCS or PGX and resubmit it to CGC do they generally hold thier grades or no? This video is very informative, thanks.

Great video but you contradicted your self a few times saying it should be a 9.8 yet then show and talk how there is spine ticks and other defects on the grade I agree sometimes they are pathetic with 9.6’s that should be 9.8’s but the ones you showed from 9.2+ wasn’t nowhere near 9.8’s

Would expect no tics or anything, more less perfect book for a 9.8 ??? That 9.4 I would say probably a fare grade, I haven’t sent anything in but the ones I do have set aside Alsace ZERO tics with square corners and pretty well no wear…. So by what you saying here and judging by the close ups a lot of my other books Would pull a decent grade?! But yo why does it say a 9.6 has several flaw allowances??? I dont understand there grading scale scale or the written definitions ….
