You really showed us alot! I love how unique and affordable stuff they have all under one roof. The fact that they allow content creators to do videos is genius on their part cz they get free marketing unlike our supermakets and malls where taking a pic is a crime
Yeah I wish our local shops could be letting us shoot Abit even for 30 seconds. Content creators are willing to do that even for free like we did with Kamukunji.

For me I felt like this place is overrated. My view, if you live along those sides then yes it's cheaper. But Kamukunji is home. I went there and I was super tired and felt drained 🥴

This is way better than what’s available in Walmarts in the USA 🇺🇸 - the variety and quality is insane. Not to mention the fact that items are as expensive and most more than in the USA 🇺🇸 yet people are paying with cash and debit cards in Nairobi. Meaning a huge middle class yet these are supposed to be cheaper than what’s available locally wow! Walmart failed to set up shop on the continent for years - reason Africans are dirt poor 😂. Thanks for sharing. China 🇨🇳 is not playing in Africa.

Walmart doesn't even come close. Lots of variety here and prices way cheaper than Walmart. No wonder there's a scramble for Africa from the West, knowing the Chinese are solidifying their presence there. They should open more China Squares in different parts of Nairobi and other big cities.
*Actually we've experienced the same China stuffs in Middle East way back in early 2000😂😂😂. Handbags, na viatu, na nguo na stationeries zime jaa mpaka maduka zinatapika. Tulivaa mpaka tukashiba😂 I used to buy wallpapers kama mchezo na tunaji instalia wenyewe. When I came back to Kenya I was shocked to see online stores sell Wallpapers for 2k 😳 and then they charge installations too. My God.!*
Today low cost means using plastics as main material. Since the durability is very short for most items I am wondering why people want that shop to be closed ? This is about convenience for many low budgets families. Plastics dominate the all store.

Sincerely speaking I would prefer to go to kamukunji and promote our local sellers .....until African/Kenyan government realizes that promoting locals will benefit the country more....then they shall wake from their day dreaming 😴 sleep🤔🤔🤔🤔 the prices are overated no common citizen will afford to go shop there😥😥😥

here’s fact, if China Square is considered cheap in Kenya, Kenya’s cost of living is really high, example, a toilet brush is 620KES, here in America, I can pick one up from ikea for 1/2 price…. Before Russia/Ukraine war, it’s 128KES…

@@misswiro I heard the news when I was flipping through news about Taiwan/China & found this incident very interesting… after I dig through some information & know a bit more about Kenya… such as % of import duties & 16% VAT for traders/importers… regardless, Kenya’s consuming goods are too expensive when you compare with your monthly salary, saw your video so I’m assuming it’s 30k kes a month… here in American, a low skill worker that requires no real education pays around 240k kes a month & if your not picky on name brand, our consuming goods are a lot cheaper even if you factor in 25% import tax (average)…, your government is setting your people to fail, something needs to change or majority of the population will never be “rich” no matter how hard you try.

But when I came back to Kenya I was shocked to see online stores selling wallpapers for 2000ksh per roll and then they charge installations too!* 😬😮
My thought too...most of this staffs in china mall are way too expensive than here in midle east i can purchase good items in ikea,homecenter and some in day to day not necessarily the brand but like the wallpapers cost at 350ksh and in kenya its 650 that means the cost of living in kenya is way too expensive @Miss Wiro your vlog is very helpful still i will pass by china mall i might get 1 or 2 things though

I think the place has been exaggerated. Prices vary everywhere.
