Tikka masala is a dish made for British palates from the herbs and spices available from the East Indian trading company that ran India in the 19th century. Nothing authentically Indian about it. Still delicious tho.
Irs authentic British indian
As many people have said, Chicken Tikka Masala was developed in Britain. The legend, which may or may not be true is that a couple in an Indian restaurant somewhere in Britain ordered Chicken Tikka (a dry dish). When it arrived they complained it was dry (that's how it should be). It was taken back to the chef who had a pan of Masala sauce, so he poured some over the dish which was take back to the table and the customers were happy. It's as Indian as Chop Suey is Chinese (it's American).
Chicken Tika masala was invented in Bradford, England in the 1960,s and exported to India.
Chicken Tikka Masala is not Indian though. It was developed by migrants from the Indian sub-continent in the UK to suit the British palette. It's literally the most popular dish in the UK...
If you want to see the biggest dumplings come to the Caribbean. We call them cart wheels here lol.

Just to burst your bubble, Chicken Tikka Masala isn’t Indian food sorry. It was created by an Bangladesh chef in Britain. Try the Dansak it’s good. Try every dish before you decide on one, you could miss out on some great flavours.
Chicken Tikka Masala was invented in Glasgow, Scotland hahahah
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 I love it how American people think the chicken tikka masala curry is an Indian dish...... Its actually English (you can look this up)
I just completed the Google check and I just wanna ask one thing.
HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU HIT YOUR HEAD ????
Ofc the British ruled over 98% of the entire globe...
Ofc it originated under their rule.
Masala is an Indian word and so is Tikka. How can the thing be British if it's called by an Indian name. 🤦♂️
It's fairly disputed in its origins, but most agree the dish originated from Indian immigrant chefs who moved to the UK. Some claims are it came from Chefs in London, others claim from Glasgow. For example a curry known as Balti supposedly originated from Indian Chefs in Birmingham, few years back there was a movement to get Balti a protected status under EU regulations.
@Nihar Bendre Good one 😂😂😂😂
OK....... So chicken tikka masala was and will always be known as being an Indian dish which is meat marinated in spices. (no gravey FYI).... If you read my post which stated "chicken tikka masala CURRY" this is what was created in the UK as British people did not like the dry meat and waited it with a sauce....... So yes, I would personally say the chicken tikka masala curry is English 😂 😂
@@theghostofuchiha1496 Don't think you should be lamenting anyone for hitting their head when literally 1-2 clicks on Google reveal 2 things: 1st it's a recognised British dish and 2nd that it is also under dispute to the actual origins of the dish, one say there is a particular man from Punjab who invented it in the 70s, certainly after India gained independence while some claim it was from a Bangladeshi chef in Glasgow, no one knows for sure.
You sure you did a google check?
That’s a old video ..

Feels good to see your people make it big out there.
Nice, how to get all ingredients ?
If you pause the video at 9:30, the woman is pointing at pre-made jars of sauce you might be able to find. In the UK they're made by a company called Patak's. You can add fresh onions, peppers, garlic and chicken to it, fry it up, and hey presto. They're pretty good, although obviously a properly-chef-cooked curry will be better.
@@DrOneOneOne No i didn't pause i saw whole vodeo but some ingredients couldn't understand that why i asked you..I am from india Mumbai thnks
