Hiking Tips in Nesbyen: The two highest mountains on Nesfjellet

Two Classic Peaks on Nesfjellet 📍📍🚶‍♂️
This circular hike is a classic and particularly beautiful in the autumn! Here, you'll ascend two of the highest mountain peaks in Nesfjellet, namely Åkrefjell at 1209 meters above sea level and Trommenatten at 1176 meters above sea level. From both summits, you'll have breathtaking views!
🧭 Approx. 14.5 km | approx. 550 meters elevation gain
🥾 The hike begins and ends on a gravel road, but most of the journey follows hiking trails. The route is marked with posts and signs.
🐟 The hike passes by the lakes Midtre Båtstjern and Øyvatn, so feel free to bring a fishing rod or a swimsuit.
🚗 Starting Point: The hiking parking lot at Båtstjernlia or Nystølkroken Café (adds approximately 2 km to the total hike length).
