Before Sunny, he was on a television show called Taxi in the 70s and early 80s. The role fits him perfectly, -- typically cast as a sociopath and devious character.

Yeah, I see no reason to hate on the first season at all. It was really fun! Especially the last two episodes. But if this is what "grounded in realism" looks like, that worries me 😂
True. Season 1 rocks. The production value is lower, and there’s no Danny D, but the narcissistic issue writing is top notch (using the abortion issue to get laid, being anti-gay until someone strokes their ego, racism, faking cancer for sympathy, faking a molestation claim for money, etc.). The characters develop well until about season 8 or 9, but then they kind of become caricatures by exaggerating certain traits too much. The last 3 or 4 seasons (13 - 16) are weaker for that reason, but “peak Sunny” is seasons 6, 7, and 8.

They are narcissistic, sociopathic people from the start, but the characters start getting so bizarre in the later seasons that it becomes too unrealistically absurdist. After season 11 or 12, they become caricatures and stereotypes, instead of simply deeply flawed, selfish, sociopathic people.

Basically a puff pasty filled with pizza sauce and cheese (plus other potential fillings, like meat or veggies). They puff up super big while they're baking, then deflate a bit once they come out. But my goodness. So soft. So crispy. So gooey and flavorful. Mmm.
