Ok I wanna start by saying I love survival / crafting games A LOT. I thought this was gonna be another grounded, even though this was in development first. This game is pretty awesome so far. It's like valhiem with better graphics and elves.
Build your base on top of one of the 10 Big trees around the map. Once you do that when you are exploring and are far from your base tree go find another one of the trees nearby this new area and go to the balloon landing spot of that tree. Talk to Owl effigy and claim that tree and your base will move to that tree. Handy way to move your base of operations and cut down on travel time.
I was going to mention this. The foundation is more than just a floor-looking piece. It has four supports under it that clip into the ground when you place it in the default position right on the ground. However, as @t4lltexan95 indicates, you can raise the foundation by looking up as you are placing it and place it so it is sitting on the supports. Just place it high enough so that you can walk under it. When you are under it, you are considered sheltered, so, as he mentions, you don't need walls and a roof.
It has Structural Integrity like Valheim, but I haven't figured it out completely. Waiting for these videos. Had to take an entire floor off my base because I couldn't close off the tip of the roof. - Doc

@@Revenant483 it's also good to note that the different tiers of building materials weigh different. What I could sustain with the wood and fiber, required pillars to hold up the middle section of roofs made out of the Wood and bark. Same height. - Doc

6:19 I am actually glad FireSpark didn't make the videos he wanted to make for this game due to him thinking no one would care and therefore not watch them. Mainly because I am having fun exploring and figuring stuff out beyond what I saw on the (unlisted) 7 hour live stream. I really don't remember much beyond getting the wings from the Bee lady and the constant dying and of course the convo about cannibalism.
I died yesterday and my spawn point was in my tree base, the lift was at the bottom of the tree. Instead of trying to get down from the tree log out and back in and it's back up top.
Loving the game I found the bottle cap but Dont where giant artifacts is 🤣🤣 died to some ants lost all my stuff. Can’t wait to play some more after work
How can you get anything done? I can’t leave my base because it storms non-stop. I’m talking every 2-3 mins. Even in winter. This game needs some serious rebalancing
There is only one kind of storm you need to hide from and that is the one it gives you the warning for. If you don't get the warning it's just raining and you dont have to hide. If it is telling you seek shelter every 2 or 3 min then you may want to make a new world cause its sounds like something broke.
Seems more fun than Sons of the Forest but "Worth a buy" gave this game a rather bad review, what´s your take on the quality of the overall experience?
Just bought the game ive been looting fibers and wood then forgot to save i dont even know how 5onsave the game so ill juat exit lol impretty sure im gonna have to start all over again ahhaha
I wish early access just meant early, not sloppy. I'm so sick of every game just being placeholder animations. And you KNOW they're never going to bother updating them once everyone's used to them. Early access is just a convenient excuse for devs to be lazy, encouraged by the playerbase.

One raised foundation can protect you from the bad storms. No need for wall and roof 👍🏻

Even faster shelter is just using a foundation raised up so it's barely in the ground. just stand right under it and don't worry about the storm :)
Target poppy plants, largest amounts of seeds in a small area, with bonus nectar & petals.
This looks way more interesting then grounded.

You can call it using the gnome effigy at the top or bottom if it's not there.
