Honestly I’m a huge Strokes fan, but Jules lyrics are mostly simple and vague. It’s the melody writing that adds a ton of meaning to it.
I heard he doesn't focus too much on the lyrics. That its much more of a secondary thing, and he focuses on the instrumental as top priority. He probably does the lyrics like a "meh" you just have to. Most of his writing sometimes doesn't make a s sense, but yeah he is still good at it.

@@thedeans6247 I was gonna say the same thing, putting his melodies in a stripped back context with a nice clean voice really shows how strong he is as a melodist. Should probably thank Inés for that too
