So that there is no confusion, this week's episode is in fact a re-upload, as the previous upload had to be removed due to an error on our part. Thank you for all the support you give us, and stay tuned for new content in October!
I feel like before electronics, mythology and traditional rituals were the center of entertainment. Back when people used to actually talk to each other.
I think many non-tribal people not in Wyoming area would have learned of this from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, where it features in the last part of the movie. RIP Teri Garr. Thanks for sharing your time with us.
We visited Devil's Tower this summer. It was incredible to witness such beauty. I could feel spiritual presence as we hiked around the tower. I get goosebumps just thinking about itm It's a must vist to anyone visiting the blackhills.
my ancestors shared these stories. Nowadays I'm told they're myths and I need to follow the book where a man split the ocean and another man walked on water.......
Freedom of religion my dude, nobody can tell you to believe shit. Also, it's pretty common for bible stories to be called myths, I found this video googling "tower myth" which is just the tower of bable/egypt.
I've grown up in Wyoming and I learned the general variants here in school. The rendering at about the two and a half minute mark was in one or more of my textbooks. I've wondered who drew it and why it was given a much longer tail than bears have.
Since it looks like a giant tree stump, I wonder if there is a legend about a giant tree? It's interesting that both stories given say it rose higher and higher out of the ground. Since it's volcanic, that's exactly what it did.
God told them to cut them down and leave the Stump,,,,,,,anybody that believes that it was made by lava has Rocks for brains,,,,,,,,,,,,Its Giant trees from the Bible,,,,,,and they named it Devils Tower
Bear Lodge is where all the tribes put the criminals then the devil would come for them in the form of a bearcat. The Bearcat had black teeth inside of a black mouth as well as black claws and it had a great long tail like a cougar. But it's eyes burn white like the stars. It breathes smoke.
There is something very biological about that tower and the surrounding area. I visited this place. It looks like a severed ankle. Tendons, etc. Like something really huge got stuck (in mud or whatever), keeled over and died. Leg got snapped and this all that remains. The soil in that area is a deep red. Something bled out. While this might sound ridiculous, it makes more sense than the story of a large bear claws causing the marks on that structure.
@@tempus_164 nah you see I have a 11 inch petrified tree piece at home. The petrified tree piece does not have the pillar columns that come from igneous rock and crystal structures. (I’m a rock collector)

Your version was very close but just a few things left out
I know the background of Devil's Tower, an immense knowledge mystery, far from current Humans understanding.. All I would say is leave it for Indians and keep it sacred.

It's very interesting
I love our Stories ❤️
*Seven Girls:* "Thank you spirits, now how do we get down?"
*Spirits:* "I missed the part where that's my problem."
Funny
What an interesting and spiritual story/folk tale, glad the boys and the girls were safe from the bear.
The Indians don't tell this story. It's a BS white Man's story
I feel like before electronics, mythology and traditional rituals were the center of entertainment. Back when people used to actually talk to each other.
Fun fact: In Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Devils Tower is the location where Monarch contained a kaiju called Abaddon.
Note: No word on whether Abaddon resembles a giant bear or not.
Isn’t abaddon Hebrew for destroyer
how cool and amazing are these stories. ever since i was young i loved listening to the stories that the people of the land shared with us

Devil's Tower is awesome to behold in person. It's well worth the time and effort to make the trip.
Agreed.

I also felt the energy while walking around Devils Tower. Never felt more positive while visiting a place. This stone creation is sorely misnamed.
It’s a giants severed foot cut off during the war of giants shortly before the great flood

I just listened to Ian Munsick's song 'Seven Sisters' and wanted to find out what the song was about. What a great story!
I liked the first story. It was also sweet of the eagle in the 2nd story to bring the boys home.
💛 all your video's mate 👍.
Is it me, or do those volcanic columns look kinda like the ones at the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland and Scotland?
That it does
It feels like Atlas holding up the weight of the Sky (Uranus) to keep his 7 daughters safe from the Bear.
Is this a re-upload? I swear I've seen this video already
As have I.
This is definitely a reupload he already uploaded this before RUclips probably took it down due to copyright claim or something
I always thought it looked like a giant tree stump..🙃 can you just imagine, pretend that it was a big tree!!
what if it really was the tree of life?🤔🍻

I've been to Devils Tower. The picture in the Thumbnail for this video was on postcards in the gift shop.
This bear could have been a worthy opponent for King Kong !
That giant bear would defeat Kong.
@@PerceptionVsReality333 Really ? How so ?
That should happen in the upcoming Skull Island series (maybe Abaddon was the bear?)

Why is Devil being used as a name if it saved lives?
Trust me man I feel the same way I feel as if this is a re-upload as well.
Lol exactly what went through my head
i so want to go see this giant tree stump this summer🍻
This story is all just a myth. Everybody knows bears can easily grow up to 5,000 ft. tall, and therefore have no problem climbing this.
video idea: make a video on the mesoamerican god thaloc

I thought this video got taken down because bears are fantastic climbers, so it made the stories seem silly.

My cousin fell off this tower after he summited and tried to untangle other climbers behind him.

It certainly looks like a giant petrified tree .. but then how come there's no others around?
@@TGmrz There are more to the north just not as pristine and thousands more all over the world
The climbing videos with close ups of the rock take away that possibility. It clearly isn’t petrified wood.

It’s a giant tree stump. Look closely at the texture. Rock doesn’t look like that.
Yes it does. Giant's causeway is the same rock type.
