I been tinkering with this list for a year. Boondocks has been on and off it more times I can count... But truth be told, I kinda like the animated series more.
Calvin and Hobbes is one of my top 3 favorite comics of all time. I actually didn't start reading the Peanuts comics until I was an adult. I didn't realize how it reflected the times and how depressing Charlie Brown's character was. I didn't know the Far Side had an cartoon. Not gonna lie I was expecting The Boondocks to be on here, but it at least got an honorable mention. Surprised Garfield wasn't on here. Another comedy based comic I've really grown to like is called Big Top.
Foxtrot and Get Fuzzy were my favorites to read when I used to read the newspaper. I used to love watching the Dilbert cartoon. Gotta love Doonesbury. Pearls Before Swan is great and I would love to see a tv series made from it:D
Fun thing shortly after you posted out the Endtown artist being on DA he also got onto FA! The is a really cool dude! Thanking every one for faving his work when he post it! XD
How come Garfield wasn't on the list? Are you ever going to do one of these for webcomics if so I highly recommend Sabrina online as an entry. It's definitely my favorite webcomic.
The next time RPG world updates eh? Well played. I'm surprised you didn't mention Cul de Sac at all, I'd say it's probably the only comic strip in the newspaper that holds a torch to what Peanuts used to be.
I actually should thank you for this list. to be honest I've already knew 11-2, but number 1 was completely new. I actually looked up the comic and read it all up-to-date, and I can already say that it's possibly my #1 too. I'm actually buying the volumes
The Doonesbury Flashback is wonderful. 50 episodes need to be made, starting from the beginning. I’ve been reading from day one…and there was a Kissinger this is your life thread in 1975 that coincided with his death in 2023. And Joanie is talking about when she left her sexist husband and went on to become a lawyer…. Pretty heady stuff for 1974 or so. Nice video though….i ❤ comics too. Good choices…..Piranha Club, King of ID, Andy Capp rounds it out
I do still wish you'd do a top webcomics list. (Especially since the #1 turned out to BE a webcomic, even if you didn't realize it at the time) Or if SOMEONE on TGWTG would. I keep feeling like I need to make one myself, but I have no means of doing videos. :V
I haven't thought about RPG world in years... thank's for reminding me... happy for the creator but I still would of loved an ending. Great list over all, I'll definitely have to check out end town now.
if i had to choose a webcomic for #1...it'd probably be dominic deegan: oracle for hire also...have you heard the theory about fight club being about an adult calvin and hobbes?
While I don't disagree with any of the picks here, and this one might be a bit before the maker's time, but I'd had fitted Pogo somewhere on here. It's one of the first to work in socal comintary and Sermen's Lagoon... but that's my prefs, what can you do.
Here’s my top ten favourite comic strips .1 Garfield like the art style .2 Calvin Hobbes .bill watterson story and art is beautiful .3 dilbert like the humour .4 peanuts by Schulz come on every loves Charlie Brown snoopy and friends .5 bloom county .it’s really good 👍 6 the far side it’s so funny 😂 .7 does this count .Matt groenings life in hell .simpsons before the simpsons .8 little nemo 👍
It's a shame we won't see a webcomic version of this list by CR. I would've reccomended he check out Kevin and Kell, VERY funny webcomic IMO, and one of the oldest!
Eh, I tried Endtown for a while, but it got too grim for my tastes. (Man, I need to get back into reading comic strips...) My favorites: 8. Peanuts 7. Garfield 6. Get Fuzzy 5. Pearls Before Swine 4. Bloom County 3. The Far Side 2. Calvin and Hobbes 1. Foxtrot (Edit: The Far Side is online now, apparently Larson changed his mind on the subject.) Update: ...that Dilbert one hasn't aged well at all...
slightly miffed that Garfield didn't at least get an honorable mention. I know it hasn't really done anything controversial, but its almost as well known as Peanuts and a staple of any newspaper.
HOW DID 'CALVIN AND HOBBES' NOT MAKE #1?!?!?!?!!!!!!!! AND _HOW_ IS 'BLOOM COUNTY' NOT ON HERE _AT ALL_?!?!?!?!!!!!!!! ... HONORABLE MENTION _ONLY_?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!
Can U re-post yer Fluffy & Uranus Eviserations Vid. I miss that one. 13:48 Eh, he's got a point. 15:01 to Lucy: "BITCH, YOUR HEART & SOUL ARE AS BLACK AS YOUR HAIR!!!!!"
I know it might sound petty but honestly I think I've always felt kinda repelled from Doonesbury not because of the humor but because of the design of the eyes. It's just... WEIRD.

Can U post a link to Endtown's Site?
Luann really does need an animated series.

Still waiting for that Endtown video
I watch this every so often such a great video
I am in love with the music choice for Non-Sequiter. One of my favorite songs ever.
When I was younger, I'd pretty much always get trade paperbacks of comic strips from the library and Zits and Lucky Cow were probably my favorites
I wish you would do a new list, I want more comic strip recs!
This video got me into Endtown & I love this guy for it, it is seriously a great comic strip :)
Foxtrot and Get Fuzzy were my favorites to read when I used to read the newspaper. I used to love watching the Dilbert cartoon. Gotta love Doonesbury. Pearls Before Swan is great and I would love to see a tv series made from it:D
Stephan Pastis actually made some animated versions Pearls strips.
Fun thing shortly after you posted out the Endtown artist being on DA he also got onto FA! The is a really cool dude! Thanking every one for faving his work when he post it! XD
Rewatching this during Corona and holy shit Endtown predicted 2020 like 10 years in advance.
...it just hit me...RPG World TECHNICALLY updated on an episode of OK KO...
I loved and miss Calvin and Hobbs I read the crud out of it as a kid.
How come Garfield wasn't on the list? Are you ever going to do one of these for webcomics if so I highly recommend Sabrina online as an entry. It's definitely my favorite webcomic.
I know this video is over a decade old at this point, but what the hell is 13:09 from? I swear I've seen this flash animation somewhere before
Honorable mentions. Calvin and hobbies, marmaduke, mother goose and Grimm, and blondie
But Calvin was considered a screw-up because in school, he'd never even try. It's implied that he could actually do really well if he applied himself.
I always liked the Dilbert cartoon. Shame it's not given the recognition it deserves nowadays.
I enjoyed the use of American Pie behind Doonsbury
I realized it's Doonesbury.
I love the dramatic reenactment jokes
The next time RPG world updates eh? Well played. I'm surprised you didn't mention Cul de Sac at all, I'd say it's probably the only comic strip in the newspaper that holds a torch to what Peanuts used to be.

Do you remember the song list?
I haven't thought about RPG world in years... thank's for reminding me... happy for the creator but I still would of loved an ending. Great list over all, I'll definitely have to check out end town now.
My dad has one of the original Peanuts graphic novels, so that was pretty nostalgic
Calvin and Hobbes is easily my favorite.
I also love Garfield and Azumanga Daioh which, while technically a manga, is a comic strip at the same time.
PLEASE put more of these on your channel, they`re fantastic!!! Also, where`d the Killer Klowns vs Killer Tomatoes one go?
8:30 There was no revolution, nothing changed.
Great review. Thanks! All new comics I should check out.
No Garfield or Blondie? Oh well, I liked that you put Foxtrot.
I would love a Dvd/Blu-ray collection of all the cartoon holiday specials based on comic strips.
The Freak Brothers was an instant Hit for me
That RPG World dig hurts, man.
I miss that comic.
Which flash animation is that Bill Watterson clip from?
My dad still quotes a certain strip of that comic where the dad gets a load of crappy gifts including a "Shiny Spoon".
Dinosaur Rob: Oh Gary Larson, I like cows too
My all time favorites are Bloom County and Pearls Before Swine.
Oh hey, Spirou, brings back memories
What song is number 2
Everything You Know is Wrong by Weird Al.
no Mother Goose and Grim? no Garfield? no For Better or for Worse?
Endtown reminds me of Scud: The Disposable's universe for some reason.
Is there gonna be a top 11 webcomics list in the future? I kinda have a hunch as to what'll be on it.
I need to get back into Endtown. I read and saved my place to a point and just..stopped.
3:12 PENNY ARCADE!~
I think Zits is a pretty underrated comic, it was especially applicable in the more recent years of my life.
... is tha--YES BILLY WEST as the cigarette! :D Guessed correctly 10 seconds before it was mentioned.
😎👍
I think I found out where the creators of Bioshock got the idea for Bioshock 3
wait you like pearls before swine .......... dude i love that one :-)
I did. At the end of the credits.
oh wow, missed that lol :P
For what it's worth, GASOLINE ALLEY did the changing and aging character thing long before DOONESBURY, and it did it better.
are you someday gonna make a top 11 webcomics? some of them are fucking awesome like thepunchlineismachismo and sinfest xDD
I just discovered Doonsbury by discovering there was a musical about it.
I suppose that's understandable, but an honorable mention would have been nice.
No Bloom County?
Same here. Calvin is my childhood.
if i had to choose a webcomic for #1...it'd probably be dominic deegan: oracle for hire
also...have you heard the theory about fight club being about an adult calvin and hobbes?

7. Marvin 6. Zits 5. Dennis the menace 4. Pearls before swine 3. Beetle bailey 2. Garfield and 1. Peanuts
Isn't Endtown more of a webcomic then a newspaper comic?
Here’s my top ten favourite comic strips .1 Garfield like the art style .2 Calvin Hobbes .bill watterson story and art is beautiful .3 dilbert like the humour .4 peanuts by Schulz come on every loves Charlie Brown snoopy and friends .5 bloom county .it’s really good 👍 6 the far side it’s so funny 😂 .7 does this count .Matt groenings life in hell .simpsons before the simpsons .8 little nemo 👍

I also cast a vote for Pibgorn.
Eh, I tried Endtown for a while, but it got too grim for my tastes.

I'm surprised Frazz didn't make the list.
slightly miffed that Garfield didn't at least get an honorable mention. I know it hasn't really done anything controversial, but its almost as well known as Peanuts and a staple of any newspaper.
I never understood Dilbert. Or Doonesbury. But I still like Get Fuzzy☺
And here I was wondering why Calvin and Hobbes never got a movie made.
I wonder if he's read Ozy & Millie?
GET FUZZY!
Sounds like a furry's battlecry
HOW DID 'CALVIN AND HOBBES' NOT MAKE #1?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!
AND _HOW_ IS 'BLOOM COUNTY' NOT ON HERE _AT ALL_?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!

I'm not the only one reading Endtown? Ok, this makes up for The Far Side not being #1.
When I was searching the web, I found a web toon of perals before swine. You can fine it on you tube or on watch cartoons
NO GARFIELD?
Can U re-post yer Fluffy & Uranus Eviserations Vid. I miss that one.
13:48 Eh, he's got a point.
15:01 to Lucy: "BITCH, YOUR HEART & SOUL ARE AS BLACK AS YOUR HAIR!!!!!"
Where's blondie?
....I forgot about Endtown. And I met the very creator of it too. Oops. Thanks for the reminder.
Shame that Pogo, Krazy Kat, and some of the early comics, which inspired most of these, weren't considered.
Drats. No garfield.
Calvin And Hobbes is the fashizzle man!
I know it might sound petty but honestly I think I've always felt kinda repelled from Doonesbury not because of the humor but because of the design of the eyes. It's just... WEIRD.
Think CR knows about Hobbes and Bacon?
Where's baby blues or Sherman's lagoon?
this makes my ps3 cooler, since it's on you tube now
