I had no idea that was Bee Gees tune. Thought it was Yvonne Elliman. Either way awesome rendition.
The arrangement of this (apart from some of Shaun's guitar work/sound) and the female vocal harmonies remind me a bit of early 70s Supremes - the Stoned Love/Floy Joy era with Jean Terrell, Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong. All the way through I kept wondering what it reminded me of, and that's it. Co-incidence of course, but as so often with SingitLive videos it's sent me off on a musical journey. Last week the Hot Chocolate cover, got me looking back at their old videos (never appreciated what a great songwriter and front man Errol Brown was), and now this week, it will be post Diana Ross Supremes, which I actually prefer to the original line up. Another excellent, thought provoking cover. Thanks Darren and team.

A reviewer wrote of this song, when the Saturday Night Fever soumdtrack first came out, that the three princes of pop ( Bee Gees ) were clearly out of ideas how to fill the song with good lyrics with " if I can't have you " keep popping out in most part of it. But who cares, it's gone to the top of the charts and remains a classic after so many years. The Gibb Brothers are truly great pop composers and SIL has again done a great job in bringing back the magic of good old music. And it helps when you have Nikki and Chloe up front.
And Shaun as well.

Soooo the truth is, it belongs to Jaylena (my daughter) who is a fan of retro gear and I grabbed it on the day and thought… “this is kinda cool”. Nothing more than that really 🥰♥️
Wow, but of course... I remember the Soundtrack (2 long plays of 33 rpm vinyl) of the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever, it included this song that Yvonne Elliman sang and that I played over and over again that year . from Bucaramanga -Colombia- I admire you a lot.

I am a crazy fan of Bee Gees. It is almost impossible to make their version. I will say that I liked the musical part a lot and the vocals were good as well. I love all your videos so keep it up guys. Of all the remakes that I have heard, this is by far the best!

Very timely - Yvonne Elliman has only just had her 72nd birthday (Dec 29, 2023) - she performed this Bee Gees number for Saturday Night Fever - and went to #1 in US. Bee Gees released it a little later as a B side to Staying Alive. I like this very fresh approach to this classic. Well done!
