I can't imagine how much pressure there is at these events! I'd feel so uncomfortable playing in front of so many people, even if well practiced! Great run! :D
+MellowMythix That's kinda why I like these events over watching some silent speedrun online. There's a much larger human element to counteract and play off the abbreviated gameplay. its quite an effective entertainment venue.
You GDQ runners blow my mind. I'd be so nervous speed running a game in front of so many people. Hell, just sitting on the couch would make me nervous. LOL props to you all for putting on a good show every 6 months.
ya know, I really loved this game when I had it on ps3, and speed running it would probably be fun, sadly I feel like as one of the only runners this guy was under a lot of pressure to make the game look good, and he didn't do a super skilled run like you see from the optimized games, but I feel like he played the game really well, he did some ridiculous strats and quick kills. mostly I feel like his mistakes were mostly from nerves, he sounds nervous almost the whole time.
I think the problem here is that Devil May Cry is not made to be speedrunned. it's made to be expressive in combat. it's like trying to speedrun Minecraft.
Samir Malik it’s definitely made to be “speed runned?” There’s literally a timer for every mission and it ranks you on how fast you go. You get an achievement for getting all S time rank😅👀
I see an interesting conversation about DMC and speed running so I wanna chime in cuz I like talking about this game series. For the most part DMC as a whole was made with the idea of arcade games. Arcade games were known for being difficult to play, mostly because the machine needed to make money. Because the games were difficult to play, a lot of the time players would have to learn little tricks to extend their quarter AKA beating the game with as little money spent as possible. I bring this up because the discussion in this thread is whether or not the game was meant to be speedrun. For the most part it was meant to be speed run BUT DMC speedrunning has gone so far above what the devs thought would be possible.
Fantastic run, overall! I do notice that he was a tad nervous while playing, but, overall it was really well done. I wouldn't mind seeing him back for next year playing DMC4 or DMC3 Special Edition.
Pretty solid run I'd say, sadly. Slowed down by some unfortunate happenings, the commentary might have been somewhat underwhelmed. But certainly interesting and informative, i really liked it. Going strong and forth, no stop. The run must go on
Just Judgment cuts were always difficult for me to pull off since my weak laptop messes up both the input and fps. Seeing this guy do these cuts so consistently for an hour makes me so jealous.
Does any know the input on how he can rapid slash like crazy without devil trigger? That's freaking crazy! Everytime i do rapid slash, there's always a delay when vergil puts his sword back.
+Charles Ray Considering how poorly received DmC ended up being, and Kamiya being pretty busy with PlatinumGames, we might even have to accept the end of the franchise. But I really hope Capcom sorts this out in due time.
+Kaze Memaryu Kamiya only made DMC1 if I remember, but it's a shame that the old team from DMC 3 and 4 isn't here anymore, perhaps Capcom can find another studio, like Platinum Games, maybe not Kamiya as director, but someone else who knows how to make a DMC
David .Crimson Kamiya was still involved as an advisor, and I feel like his word kept most of DMC's style intact. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who could do the DMC franchise any justice - the guy behind DmC was a pretty obnoxious prick, so I wouldn't wanna see him do anything except completely new stuff.
+Kaze Memaryu Kamiya was not an advisor on any of the DMC games after DMC1. There was a massive amount of bad blood between him and Capcom and they wouldn't let him near it. That being said, it seems that the team who was working on it did mostly stay true to the world Kamiya had created, and even managed to surpass the game he made with DMC3, so kudos to them. Then Ninja Theory got their hands on the series.... Ugh.
The HZA He was no official advisor, but he didn't really hide that members of Team Little Devils kept contact with him, and they highly regarded his input on certain things until DMC3. By DMC4, he kinda turned his back on the whole thing, which might be why Nero became a thing (though I didn't mind him once it became clear he wouldn't replace Dante). If I remember correctly, he doesn't care about DMC anymore, but I really hope I got that VERY wrong.
I'm always a little bit disappointed when a runner just rushes through the game without telling the story while playing. E.G. "Know we are fighting Dante". But why? D:
DodoRebirth this would've been extra helpful for me because for some reason when I played this game for the first time I had the volume turned down and for all subsequent play through I skipped the cutscenes.
Great run, but I've always felt that dmc4 was the worst one. The areas felt large and boring, and you fight the same 3 bosses 3 different times, that's so boring. Dmc 3 had a different boss for every fight.
You ever played DMC1, because you are required to fight every boss at least twice, a couple of them three times with jankier controls. And DMC2 has WAY more open and empty areas in addition to only having one sword combo through the entire game.
I guess you can say these guys Run DMC
And that it's tricky

Absolutely fantastic run PvtCb!!! Under pressure and still aced it . Well done mate!!!!
Finally DMC4 without audio issues, thanks for upload!
Thank you so much for fixing the audio!!!!!!! Love the work you guys do.
I can finally see this video! Im motivated!!!

@@InterstellarClouddit's different from speedrunning, notice how he's getting C's for style points almost all of the time.
Sunnydoe there’s literally a turbo option too like wtf there encouraging you to go fast 😂

Awesome run! Super entertaining too watch, hope we see more of this guy at future GDQ's
Fantastic run, overall! I do notice that he was a tad nervous while playing, but, overall it was really well done. I wouldn't mind seeing him back for next year playing DMC4 or DMC3 Special Edition.
oh by god, that awesoe GOLDEN AXE 2 music at the very beginning!!! YES, I also grew up with that sacred gem, side note: LOVE DEVIL MAY CRY
Gotta go -fast- MOTIVATED!
Thx for fixing the audio. Nice run, PvtCb!
wait, how did he do the move at 12:15? Just rapid slash and hold down atk, then right as you finish RS, you release atk for judgment cut?
This run was awesome! I remember when the chat just went crazy! ONE PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCH!
Carcinogen is thinking about playing the dmc series quickly as possible so he he's in GDQ
He starts at like 8:48 UwU
Damn that opening 8 bit got me groovin’!
46:42 WOOLIE SIGHTED
Can sombody tell me where I can find the song that starts playing at around 03:13min ?
Holy shit this was an amazing run.
Wish this was an Legendary Dark Knight Vergil run, that would've made this more interesting. Good run
34:50 yes they are specially if youre doing a "hell or Hell" run
Donguri needs to speedrun this.
He's taking a break from gaming apparently atm, but something tells me that killing stuff as fast as possible isnt really his style.
@@SufferDYT emphasis on. ahem. "Style"
1:07:20 for Mission 16 Skip
I saw whole first upload :P I can call myself like a true Speed demons fan ^^
I didn't know you could speedrun Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3!
Isn't the coffin already broken in mission 5, regardless of whether or not you broke it in mission 3?
I did not know about distortion, thats beast
I see this run admired my POWER
Why didn't he get the holy water at 26:00?
29:50 "Please kill the animals."
D:
Save the frames!
Animals are useless and take up time.
That is a reference to Super Metroid where you can take about 20 seconds to save some animals, or you can kill the animals and save 20 seconds.
the real fight was going on behind the runner on the couch. That dude was fighting Mr. Sandman so freaking hard towards the end....
a new character is Vergil and I'm going to show how powerful he is
me: one does not simply show how powerful Vergil is
Pretty solid run I'd say, sadly.
Slowed down by some unfortunate happenings,
the commentary might have been somewhat underwhelmed.
But certainly interesting and informative, i really liked it.

I hope someone do DMC 3. This would be epic.
Did someone say "careful" at 1:12:17?
1:13:40 damn son that mean that time is not that important for these people.
Beautiful
1:03:00 The pronounciation of Blitze is simply "Blitz-eh"
a question how i measure the time on dmc4????
i want to do a speed but the loading time count?
the menu between mission count??
Yes it counts. Everithing from start to killing the last boss.
i dont get what the pc version vsync issue is. Cant you just turn it off or on in the settings menu to suit your needs??
Does any know the input on how he can rapid slash like crazy without devil trigger? That's freaking crazy! Everytime i do rapid slash, there's always a delay when vergil puts his sword back.
just judgement cut or trick to an enemy to end the sheathing animation.
ONE PUUUUUUUUUUNCH!
Vergil is so cool
How long would it take without being rediculously OP? Reminds me of permenant devil mode in dmc 3, but even more unfair
what's the name of the first song that played at the beginning of this vid? it's so damn good.
This game visually looks great but having to replay all of the prior areas from backwards sucks
I would be showing off combo's while trying to speedrun. XD
I know but Boss Rushes on Donguri's videos are always sick looking .
49:10 is he pretending to moan to take some kind of a pill?
Юра Стецький it's called "yawning"
Anybody know what that 8bit music is?
thank god no more echo.
is there a full hd version of this run ?
its ok taking damage when you are speedrunning because you have to focus only one thing
Amazing
i thought talking and playing the game is impossible. nice speedrun.
Is there any game where Vergil is not OP?
arashi618 Devil May Cry 2 because he's not in it. Lel
this guy just like “one punch man”
THINK YOU STAND A CHAN-
Virgil = One Punch Man
I feel like the guy could have been a better player, but his speed was great, really good run all together but the fact its not dmd is unfortunate.
I play with standard controls always.
Wow nice
Bereil? Baal? DMC4 shares boss names with the Diablo games, and other games that name bosses after aliases of the devil.
Welcome to dmc platforming lmao
MvC3 Vergil confirmed.
Cá estou eu novamente
I am actually kind of disappointed that they rebooted Devil May Cry, because I wanted to know more about Nero.

dude, I've beaten every difficulty but hell and hell
Dove Chaser yeah, that is the question. Maybe my problem is I don't care. I only tend to worry about story in jrpgs and halo
wtf how u can play vergil in dmc 4 ?!
Michał Skoworn if you watched the video you would know.
Decent speedrun, could be faster if he stopped losing time with those cutlass and lesser Faust (I don't remember the name)
wish this speedrun wasnt just spamming JC :/
Nice
3 2 1 go. Oh wait nvm. LOL
The original DMC was amazing, every game in the "series" since sucks, but I still gotta give it to this guy, he is damn good.
you're very weird most love dmc 4 an 3
