for this year at least since its scuffed, should probably be before champs start.
from the next year upcoming, I hope they make the map changes after masters and champs, with the assumption that teams might have a week or 2 to prepare after Masters for the new maps.
What I think could help a lot is if they announce which maps would be rotating out before each masters/champs start so that teams would know what maps they shouldn't over prep for while also giving them time to practice on the rotating map
Good job hitting 20k Sliggy!
2:22 why phoenix animation matching with sliggygy voice lmao
Fuck it, just put Haven and the new map straight in.
The teams can play the with new rotations in the Live server, The tournament server will be 3-4 weeks delayed.
Some team which are certain to go to champs like PRX, GenG and Others can practice scrim in the live server well before the patch is allowed in pro play.
I need one of the mods to take one for the team and teach Mr. Steamer how to turn dark mode in windows
We had the same exact discussion in the mod group. Best would probably be 1 week before playoffs and tank it for the last week rather than playoffs.... but it will probably be playoffs. Somehow the planning for this year is getting worse.
i think they might keep it the old pool, or only switch 1 of breeze or split for haven and add the new one for champs
Zach Galifianakis Math meme vibes
Exciting to see a new map in rotation right for playoffs that'll be fun. Also tbf they'll have had 4 weeks to practice, just no stage practice.
Stage 2 NEEDS to be delayed. Pacific literally starts 5 days after Shanghai Grand Finals like what???
if they do what they do with league, putting out a patch for pro scene only before the split starts, they might change the map pool at the start of split 2 but i highly doubt that this will happen. they probably will prefer more chaos cause its "more fun to watch" just like the trash format we had in split1
can't wait for 9 map rotation
I assume they will stick to the old map pool for Champions though, but then again this is Riot
8.11 😮
they should just update the game but don't touch the pro play stuff at the moment until the end of the tournament.
Best thing to do imo is to delay it past playoffs and only have it for champs.
Honestly just sounds like the schedule team and the content team are not on the same page. Don't like the cadence of content either. They seem to have painted themselves in a corner. Squished pro schedule, they can't do big changes after a lan because the next split starts, and they don't want to cannibalize league viewers/stage crew since its all in house so it can't be extended either. Spread themselves to thin with this one.
The new character into new map cadence seems like its primed for bloat as well. It raises another problem of long term player base, no one in NA is playing league. Barrier to entry is to high with so many champions. The only proof of concept I can think of is R6. R6 has a planned a yearly content cadence of New Character > Rework Map > New Map maybe even a systems rework for when things get chaotic. Honestly though R6 got a lifeline with jynxi injecting a new wave of player base through his popularity.
Player would have to just bite the bullet this years schedule kinda seems set in stone. The REAL solution is a schedule that works WITH content cadence. It as simple as big changes only after tournaments. If that means gutting one Masters so it feels right so be it. Shorter season or a Longer one to match with big content releases.
Easiest prediction ever: Fnatic permabans the new map

I think they will keep the 8.10 patch (without the new map and Haven) until end of playoffs and then champs will be where we will actually see the new map. I think stage 2 will be all about clove and her integration into meta and clove has been out for a while now.
the focus really shouldn't be pro play and this is coming from someone who watches every vct and bought 2 team bundles. 99.99% of people who play this game are NOT pros and the game should revolve around them, not the .001%
The topic of the video has nothing to do with casuals though? Like how is that relevant at all? It’s not like they’re gonna delay putting the map in the game.
Even if the maps are delayed to be dropped after a masters event every time I couldn't care less what i do wonder is how new agents will be affected
The focus for agents being balanced around pro play is fine I think because literally anything is viable in ranked. For maps it seems like they’re leaning towards the players anyway
this specifically only affects pro play? it gets put into ranked earlier this video is literally just about when the comp scene switches to the new map pool, it literally is something that ONLY effects pro play
I mean the game should be designed from top down. It doesn’t have to be based on any group of people but whole. It’s like saying “buff yoru because the average player base has a terrible winrate” but that could destroy the higher Elos and the pro meta completely. Things have to be balanced at the highest stages of any game for it to be balanced at the lower ends. So no, they should focus pro play then the rest of the game.
These rules are a minimum. In my opinion it would be the only reasonable decision to play with the old map rotation in playoff and bring the new map in for Champs.
i hope they just scrap the 3-4ish week rule and either put the maps in at the start of split 2 or the start of champs. Teams shouldn't have to swap maps mid split/tourney
They just announced it now and its old maps so they can probably scrap the 4 weeks rules
champs 22 had pearl and LCQ didn't, why wouldnt they just stick to that rule? i think you're heavily overthinking this.
Same as 2021 with Fracture. But its not the same, LCQ always finished within or just after the 4 weeks. Waiting till end of playoffs would be 6 weeks. Riot normally stick to their own rules very strictly. But you might be right maybe I'm overthinking
@@SliggyVAL its a good discussion nonetheless since people like me dont really use twitter or reddit to talk about the game that much, keep up the content man dont get overworked tho 👍👍
