I found Goose House like 8 years ago and fell in love with Kei's voice from that AKB48 song where she sang with Johnny and the other guy... it was a trio, but their vibes and harmoies were immaculate. I listened to that cover a least 100 times. I probably forgot about them for the last 2-3 years.... and now stumbling upon this video.. watching the whole then, THEN to read that it's the same girl from Goose House. Mind is blown. It's very difficult to explain what ChillCow's lofi music channel means to others, but I think... I will try to explain for myself. In 2015, I was still in my 2nd year of college, times were very tough. I doing pretty badly in school, work was draining, and studying with others was very distracting as I am a very sensitive person. Cars buzzing by, the chatter of disparate groups, and even butterflies dancing across the library window would jolt me out. I remember I started studying a month before my new semester in August; I was silently dreading the school term and had a mountain of material to catch up on, so that I would not fail higher level modules. The monsoon rain of August was never more despondent. By then, I was sort of resigned to my fate. After all, most people in my country spend their entire youth studying and somehow eking out a meagre living after graduation. I felt then that such would be my life. But it was also during those cold dreadful rainy days that I started discovering more and more musicians on RUclips: The Piano Guys, Lindsey Stirling, Alex Goot, Kurt Hugo, and so many more. Their music couldn't really be used in accompaniment to studying, but they were a bright spot in a very difficult and lonely time. More than any ordinary youtube subscriber, I always looked forward to their music uploads and would listen to them on breaks or commute. Then, I found ChilledCow. Somehow, the channel's idea and concept had not yet become popular, but that did not matter. In our common humanity, ChilledCow's music provided a ceaseless, unending calm; a sort of pocket dimension that I could carry in my pocket and retreat into a magical lake of lofi beats and blended melodies. Later on, ChildCow's chatroom took a life of its own and became a place where kindness could be shared amongst weary strangers across space and time. Your rendition of ChildCow's lofi study girl - in song and visual reproduction - will share that special spot in this pandemic. ありがとう。

And has helped an entire generation of students study, pass exams and graduate. And helped untold millions of people like me who never studied and work for a living unwind, refresh and relax - ready to face the world and the daily grind to help drive society forward. I owe a lot to Study Girl and Chilled Cow. Lo-Fi music is life.
