Clearly showed the younger voters of SengKang have a little more idealism and willing to venture rather than always taking the same old roads. Every new entrance into the workforce faces the same obstacles as these young inexperienced team of WP. Everyone need to be given a chance and had to start somewhere, sometimes. Otherwise, how is one going to gain the experience? I thank all those who had voted for the opposition in this election, for the willingness to give the inexperience a chance to learn, grow, contribute, and also prove themselves. It is really difficult standing against the incumbent. Your vote for them gives them encouragement and I hope they do not give up and continue to fight the good fight for Singapore. The rest of us, we can do our part to donate and support all the opposition parties, and encourage them with our thank you and appreciation. With a changing environment, they can continue to actively fight to make Singapore and Singapore politics more robust, relevant, and make the lives of Singaporean even better thru social media.

I hope the oppositions keep up the good work and gives me another reason to vote for them and not of the current ruling party. I might not know much about the politics, but I can see who is passionate to help and who is not. PSP/WP/PPP/PV/RP/SDP/NSP and the other opposition party that I missed out. Thank you for pulling out such an amazing campaign this year despite of the situations that you were being put in and the cards that you were dealt with. Honestly, I think PV is a joke, at least this election. Even when they had to go against the sucky Jo Teo they couldn’t even get 35% of the votes. And they were the party who created a 3 cornered fight in Pasir Ris Punggol GRC because they believed that “they posed a bigger threat to threat to the incumbent than the SDA”, yet they still still got less votes than the SDA 🤣. With these sort of rubbish opposition parties around, the PAP vote share wouldn’t go below 60%. They should dissolve and let the bigger opposition parties pull down the PAP’s vote share.

GRCs were created by PAP so that they can have a supermajority in parliament with a few notable ministers in each GRC team. How many seats will they still win if they didn't have these GRC system ( which they created themselves)? If it was an SMC I am sure more WP or Opposition members would be able to go to Parliament. Actually I still cannot understand, we can see that there is a lot of unhappiness with PAP. What are Singaporeans unhappy about? I mean, I am not really into politics. Running a GRC is a teamwork and support from the grassroots supporters. They will also have the support and shared experience of running a town council from Aljunied and Hougang. This will shortened their learning curve. Let Janus focus on the policy debate in the parliament. Don't forget that WP have so many lawyers to debate policy in the parliament.

MRT Station was built but not reopened until PAP won.
Some Town are not being well contested such as in Tampines. If WP team were here I guess things will drastically change. I will even volunteer for WP. I have been an RC Secretary before, I see those PAP admirers or volunteers only work when the MP arrives and follow him/her like dogs.

Hougang has been the hope for oppositions. Then in 2011 Aljunied created history by kicking PAP George Yeo and Ong Ye Kung (who ran for the GRC back then) out and be the first GRC won by an opposition. In 2020 in the middle of a pandemic, WP made another historic win of a GRC again with Jamus Lim and his team. I hope Nicole Seah (though losing to a PAP DPM) will be an NCMP in Parliament.

I felt like Jamus was the secret weapon WP had all along and was just waiting for the right time to use it. The moment the parties had been invited on tv for a debate, WP decided to release its secret weapon and dropped its nuclear bomb on the PAP. You could see Vivian Balakrishnan was astounded by the debate he had with Jamus. It was also perhaps a foreshadowing of whats about to come in parliament later on over the years. By the time PAP had already discovered this gem, it was a bit too late, and they tried to do anything to weaken his team, but to no avail for course. If anything, the plan backfired even more. And by this point, there was nothing else the PAP could do to salvage Sengkang all for themselves.

I’m proud of WP and members having to secure another GRC. You have made us proud! Most important of all, the trust and support given by all Sengkang residents!

Thank you residents of Sengkang GRC, Aljunied GRC and Hougang SMC for moving Singapore towards a more balanced and democratic future. Most of us who have voted for the opposition parties don't necessarily want the PAP out of power. What we do want is a strong opposition that will help us ask the tough questions and hold the PAP accountable with regards to policies that affect us. The PAP will think twice about Singaporeans and our welfare before bulldozing policies that disadvantage us. The WP will have to fight REALLY hard for us all and prove that they are do indeed have the complete interest of all Singaporeans and Singapore at heart. Let us get Nicole Seah, Dr Paul Tambyah, Dr Tan Cheng Bock, Dr Chee Soon Juan, etc in parliament next. We want a ROBUST parliament, with a robust high calibre opposition MPs. As long as the PAP keeps the status quo - stifling freedom of speech, freedom of the press, an Elections Department Singapore (ELD) & Electoral Divisions Board linked to the PAP, million dollar salaries for PMs, HDB property devaluation, CPF money issues, suing opposition members, dirty, UNFAIR politics disguised and justified as necessary to prevent slander, etc. Suing and slandering opposition party members is so last century. It's distasteful and it shows weakness. We the younger electorate see through the BS and we are not standing for it. Singaporeans like me, will WANT to seek out and support the opposition parties. As long as these issues are not addressed AND RESOLVED in Singaporean's favour by the PAP, 'independent' voters like me will continue to support the opposition. All elected politicians (PAP, WP, etc) work for Singaporeans. Not the other way around.

Let's take a moment to recognize Mr Low for his years of dedication to Singapore without which today's success would have just been a fiction of imagination.
Next I need to say to the East Coast team - do NOT feel defeated. Take this coming 5 years to grow - as a person, to reach out (use your imagination & leverage on technology)to continuously engage East Coast folks and win new ones. I hope to be able to celebrate your victory in 5 years'time.
Before I congratulate the Seng Kang team - I hope all Singaporeans do NOT put unnecessary pressure on Jamus. It is unfair.
This will be a GROUP effort to dedicate in the coming years to reach out and help residents in the Seng Kang region.
Do NOT let them down by :
(a) not paying attention to process eg. get 3 quotations for any tender job.
(b) not keeping them updated on the change and progress that you are going to bring to fruition for Seng Kang.
(c) not informing them if there is a delay or there is/are obstacles encountered.
(d) not seeking suggestion/s from PAP ministers with portfolio as these ministers have been tasked to do for Singapore and Singaporeans.
If the minister with portfolio chooses NOT to help a Singaporean, let it be known above the board.
(e) by not capitalizing on every opportunity to present yourself to Singapore and Singaporeans alike.
I am referring to the missed opportunity to present the Workers'Party in Mandarin during the election speech/presentation.
In the commerical world of Marketing, there is no bad publicity.
(f) not upgrading yourself. I know it is a challenge to juggle your private lives; your newly won role in the Seng Kang GRC.
Do take a moment and ponder, the PAP has been constantly asking Singaporeans to upgrade and upskill - I wonder why nobody ever raise the question if MPs themselves have talk the talk and walk the walk. When you have achieve that, it is ammunition.
I shed a tear when the sample results were announced. My tears were tears of frustration on how the incumbent has mis-managed Singapore - in and out of the current crisis.
My tears were also tears of hope because I share the vision of a Singapore that is more inclusive; where it is not necessary to be #1 in material achievements only.
