And on the long term it doesn't fix anything cause rrod is just solderballs underneath the gpu-cpu that cracks or didn't make good contact anymore with the motherboard, only good solutioon is reballing it.
I hate to be that guy but that's wrong. The RROD issue is the connections under the flip chip (Silicon chip) itself. The glass transition temperature of the underfill (under flip chip) is too low and does not stay solid at normal operating temps. It's all on the wiki on what specific gpu's are good and bad. But basically all bad ones can and will fail eventually no matter how many times you reflow or reball. Also, Josh Davidson has a good video on his channel explaining why not to do this bolt mod as well. It will literally bend the board and substrate.
@@reacteclipse8107 my 360 red ringed 15 years ago. I had the extended warranty on it and Microsoft sent me back an HDMI model, which I think was one of the last revision models. supposed to have better heatsinks or something. I don't play it that much anymore.
Do you know with the 360 slim, is it true that fun duct foam affects the temps? I've been told the foam that's stuck on the fan duct for the slim and e models is necessary for better temps. I think mines worn down so I might replace. Cool restoration vid by the way! Excellent 👌
Dear god he's bolt modding! Also if this has any GPU earlier than a Rhea V2 GPU don't even bother as these have a known manufacturing defect to do with the GPU underfill material.
I had to try it out. l only came across this method. l never had the Xbox l was always playstation and seen this and the Xbox l had was still not working thank you for watching 😀
Xbox 360 xenon model no HDMI if memory serves me correct these are the original 360 models that were launched and these are notoriously notable for the red ring of death
that's not a good solution it could bend the motherboard during gaming and damaging the whole board bro i've repaired a few of these but the best solution i've applied is using heat gun
Alright buddy yeah l repair it before with a heat gun it did work for a bit, then l seen this method and wanted to give it ago. Thank you for watching it's much appreciated 😃
The bolt mod is not recommended, the board is going to bend at some point with all the heat
could have used this 18years ago
Looks like you have to replace one more capacitor, next to the coil under the GPU.
