My first child was born in 1999 when this song came out. It’s such a beautiful romantic song, but I associate it completely with the love a parent feels for a child. It makes me sob every time.
I was so agree with you when one artist used his/her voice as instrument. It's hard to say but it's kind like it sounded so original unique and felt more than anything. It's sounded simple but the effect was stunning ❤💛love your reaction and expression on this song
My wedding song… fun fact Darren said he was approached by a advertising agency who wanted to use this song for a chicken food advert.. they offered him an obscene amount of money, but he turned them down, he said this song means so much to so many people that he would never let it be ridiculed
Darren has beautiful voice and beautiful soul. Anton you should watch this song performing live, its even better than recording version. Thank You for this incradible reaction ♥️
I bought the "Affirmation" album as soon as I saw the video on MTV back in 1999. By the way, the whole album is awesome and worth listening to. ("Two Beds and a Coffee Machine", if you don't have tears in your eyes while listening to that song...) Great reaction as always.
This song was played at least half a dozen times at my daughters 18th birthday party, many years ago. Everyone sang along every time . I smile at that memory every time I hear this beautiful song.
Despite what was said, it was Daniel who left because he hated the fame and being in the spotlight. Darren loved the band and never wanted to go solo. They decided to end it when this song was number 1!
Just to let you know that Darren Hayes new album came out today. He is back after being silent for over 10 years. His new music is incredible and I think it deserves your full album reaction. You will be surprised.
I like your comments! Darren is such a special human being! I love how emotional and sensitive he is and what a genius he is with the lyrics! I was just in NYC and he poured heart and soul into each of the songs for the tour! “I knew I loved you “ was amazing.
Yep that's Kirsten and I remember people were so surprised that she was featured in this music video. I think this came out either just before or right after the first Spiderman movie which she also starred in and was really popular at the time. There was even a debate if it was just a lookalike model but it was really her.
One of many things I love about savage garden is the raw but honesty of thier lyrics. I find there is a lot of one liners tjat hut really deeply! I don't know if that makes sense! I've been here to watch you, Anton experience a lot of songs. Ie Mockingbird to this, but I always look forward to a reaction to a sing I've known for a long time.
I just loved this song so much when i was a kid bcs of Kirsten Dunst wauhgsuygusygfssuyg now im adult, of course i appreciate Savage Garden hshgauygsfufs
I’m assuming which is stupid of me but I believe you live in the US?!?! Darren is going on tour next year you should definitely go. He’s doing all the oldies but goodies. The tour is called “Do You Remember?” Tour so should be good ❤
When I first heard them on the radio I thought at first it was Roxette. Their song “I Want You” reminded me so much of Roxette’s style music. Yeah for me if the beginning music doesn’t pull me in I find myself not liking the song doesn’t matter who the artist is I just like the music.
Darren is such an incredibly beautiful man. I melt just looking into his eyes. Very few men ooze sex appeal on such a level, and yes, I’m incredibly jealous. 😂😂😂
I associate this song with " Who wants to marry a Millionaire?" I remember Darva Conger dancing with Joe Millionaire to this song on that stupid show which aired on FOX 23 years ago.
Anton, It'd be interesting (for shits and giggles) to see you look back in your journal and see if your thoughts, @ 11:55, about the woman you would want to marry, expectations etc still remains true or if your views have changed. Darren is so Beautiful!! He has amazing talents and I really relate to his music/lyrics of these songs off this album. These songs from SG will never get old. I will always be listening to this album!! They are a part of my soul.
Fun fact I saw in a interview with Darren. He said when Him and Daniel wrote this album the record people said there wasn't a number one hit in the album so they had to go back to the writing board and made this beautiful song.
What you left out was that Darren wrote the cheesiest, lamest, most cliche song that he could on purpose as a sort of "screw you" to the record company. He was shocked when they loved it. It IS a great song though.
@@zerolsr2228 Yeah, he and Robert Conley wrote a song called Shit On The Radio for the album they made under the band name We Are Smug. They released it one year for free on Darren's birthday. It is full of unique and fun songs. My personal favorite is Hot Tub Blues.
@@zerolsr2228 No, Robert is not his husband. Richard is his husband. Robert played as a musician in the Big Night In show, and Richard can be seen in there as well, as a stage hand. Two different people though.
Fun fact. When Darren decided to leave savage garden, his co band member found out via media. Always felt sorry for him because he looked like he had no idea it was coming and was gutted
@@shaunanderson8491 “But perhaps the split wasn't as clean-cut as we first thought. Jones has revealed that the break-up felt like "a train wreck" - messy, painful and unexpected. "One particular journalist jumped on a small, passing comment from Darren [Hayes]," Jones said. "The press jumped all over it, and [the band] was put to rest without either of us actually agreeing what we were doing.” They haven’t spoken since the break up And yeah , because Daniel is a quiet man, he was embarrassed in public by Darren’s announcement
This song brings wonderful memories. Anton, during your reaction of a Lindsey Stirling and Amy Lee song, you mentioned that you realized that the voice is an instrument, that they can be interchangeable except that the voice is limited by someone's range. Has anyone recommended very likely the best vocalist on the planet? He's still in his 20's, his name is Dimash, and he's been honing his voice every single day since he was 5. His voice now covers 8 octaves. He sings in around 15 languages (he's still improving his pronunciation in some), in different genres (classical, opera, pop, rap, rock, etc), and plays several instruments. Almost all of his performance are masterpieces and showcase a different side of his voice and what the voice CAN DO! Please react to a relatively recent song that shows off that range, Stranger. You will probably need to put a filter over the video to be allowed to upload, but worth it! ruclips.net/video/lFsB5HVnmSA/видео.html
I never get tired of this song. Loved it for 20 years.
I was raised by my Grandmother, so I have a very broad range in my music taste. Fast forward and I am in my early 20s but I also love this song haha
22 years now if I remember since this masterpiece came out. I was 8.
Great song, great video !

Its so great seeing people still appreciating this music ❤

Yes! That's Kearsten Dunst and I've loved 😍 this song for 22 years! It went to # 1 on the Billlboard Hot 100 in 2000
Kirsten Dunst****
I absolutely love Darren, I'm looking forward to seeing him in concert in 2023.

A beautiful song that touches your soul if you let it.

Éste hombre tiene una de las mejores voces del mundo.

I remember not liking this song when it first came out but time and distance have given me an appreciation for it and I now love it
Elements of mj and Smokey Robinson in his voice and what a great love poem is this song
A gorgeous song. I loved this album. I probably listened to it more than the debut album. Great review 👏
Thank you for the video. I can't believe you've only just discovered this group)
Loretta Lyn passed away today at the age of 90. RIP

This is my wedding song 🥰
Like is good video from Savage Garden in your Channel ever loves this ❤❤❤❤❤
I love how you can hear Bono in those high vocalizations.

Definitely gotta check out Jason Aldean- Black Tears
Darrens the kind of person who I feel has been here a few times, if you get what I mean.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My wedding song. Met my wife on Facebook ❤
If you wanna get in chock you need to listen to Forestella singing Bohemian Rhapsody. You won't regret!!!
Savage garden was literally the roxette of the 2000,s
Get time, listen to So Beautiful by Darren/ Savage Garden... Very few male singers have such a spiritual moving voice!
I hope you will react to “ Insatiable”

Darren is singing this to a guy, not Kristen Dunst. LOL :)
Hey are you pulling songs off this 57 year old playlist?? 😂
Not like the movies by Katy Perry pls
Great reaction. You’re beautiful
