As someone who operates systems in Canada, it's fun to watch the process of other facilities around the world.

I work in Nashville, TN we have 3 treatment plants, I work at the plant that treats up to 120 MGD but we do have a plant downtown that treats up to 500 MGD on average that one does about 300 MGD. It's so interesting to see other treatment plants.

Depending on the process, you will want to maintain certain temperatures to "keep the bugs happy". By maintaining optimum temperatures you help with essentially improve the removal of nutrients in that stage such as five-day carbonaceous biochemical oxygen demand (CBOD5), total phosphorus (TP), total ammonia nitrogen (TAN).
