Adesina: I Launched a $25 Billion Programme to Turn Around Agriculture in Africa

  • Africa possesses 65% of the world's uncultivated arable land, which will be crucial for feeding 10 billion people by 2025. How Africa approaches agriculture will determine the future of food globally. We have made significant progress thus far, with countries like Ethiopia, to which we provided drought-tolerant varieties of wheat, now becoming net exporters. Additionally, we have initiated special agro-industrial processing zones, developing new areas across the continent close to farmers to create a new ecosystem of wealth in the rural economy.
    Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President, African Development Bank Group

    Dr. Adesina is a typical role model young Africans both home and abroad should emulate. Despite been privileged in working in several international organization and the temptations to forget his continent, his passion for the development of Africa is legendary. I believe if we can get enough of his like minds in the positions of authority in Africa, Africa would be world delight and beautiful bride.

    Oh, it's Mr. Fertiliser Adesina!
    Please kindly ask Mr. Adesina what plans he has to solve the massive health problems that will arise from his planned agricultural revolution. The current "modern" agricultural system has already killed so many people and disabled many more. I'm one of the lucky survivors. With all due disrespect, capitalists like Adesina and Co. should keep their itchy hands off African agriculture. We don't want to end up like the United States where cancer and diabetes are commonplace diseases and 93% of the entire citizenry are metabolically unhealthy!
    We don't want any more deadly fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides and heavy machinery. Leave agriculture alone! Our forefathers never had pesticides and tractors, but they produced good food that didn't cause cancer and ALS!

      Life expectancy in America is 77 years old, in Nigeria, it is 54 years old. Don't be too bitter or afraid that you cannot copy that which will give us a longer and better quality of life, whilst making sure we discard the part of development that is harmful.

    • @masterlightjames950
      @masterlightjames950 28 минут назад

      @aipboess7138 oh, ignorance. Western medicine has simply learned how to make corpses look alive for as long as possible! Most Americ@ns are already dead in their childhood. Just because they seem to still be alive by 77 doesn't mean they're actually alive! There's nothing to copy. You can't copy failure and claim to be sane. My great grandmother's generation didn't copy America and yet, their life expectancy and QUALITY OF LIFE were much higher! It's not about how far but how well. Quality of life is the most important thing. Just because it looks alive doesn't mean it's living.
