Adesina: I Launched a $25 Billion Programme to Turn Around Agriculture in Africa

- Africa possesses 65% of the world's uncultivated arable land, which will be crucial for feeding 10 billion people by 2025. How Africa approaches agriculture will determine the future of food globally. We have made significant progress thus far, with countries like Ethiopia, to which we provided drought-tolerant varieties of wheat, now becoming net exporters. Additionally, we have initiated special agro-industrial processing zones, developing new areas across the continent close to farmers to create a new ecosystem of wealth in the rural economy.
Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President, African Development Bank Group

Mr. Adesina got 54 percent in his exam due to hunger. I hope Nigeria government is listening. Thanks a lot sir for your transparency in this special interview.

But see how cool he is now when he sit with transparency and well thinking man

He knows his mate and he’s local champion
Because he knows when he meets an honest person. Someone talking sense. He'll listen and digest
@florenceucheignatius4911 by and large true
#fact @@florenceucheignatius4911
OBJ scouted this one too. That man is underrated 😊
This is a life-transforming interview. A million thanks to Prof. Adeshina for all he does for Africa and the world. Sir, we need your kind in Nigerian political leadership
With all this beautiful story,we are only going south, with all the progress in career Nigeria is going down every day. Africa is dead Nomatter what is being said here. As long as Nigeria is bad we are all illiterate (Odumeje) said it all.
If this man is contesting for Presidency I will leave my country Gambia come to Nigeria do whatever it takes to vote for him as president. I have been following him for years now and know very well his achievements throughout the continent. I wish Adesina the very best, he knows the secret codes to getting things running not only Nigeria but Africa. Respect sir.
Dr. Adesina is a typical role model young Africans both home and abroad should emulate. Despite been privileged in working in several international organization and the temptations to forget his continent, his passion for the development of Africa is legendary. I believe if we can get enough of his like minds in the positions of authority in Africa, Africa would be world delight and beautiful bride.
Dr. Adeshina is brilliant , very honest fellow.
The next president of Nigeria after Peter obi and Nigeria would be on track to greatness!
Peter Obi???😅😅 does Peter Ob havei the brain capacity lead Nigeria..?? A man that can not read properly
Olorun maje
What level of education or exposure has Obi got for him to be a President.
I'm so pleased to hear that. Glory be to Almighty.
Mr Adesina is a hero, respected and l will wish him to remain an adviser and minister to Government and can also be a governor and above all he is more than all l wish compared to his achievements and experiences please sir you are needed to help the government and Nigerian youths and the poor, your goals, five or more goals are all needed in Nigeria and Africa, thank you so much Mr Rufia for this great interview from a great man
True Nigerian talking. Thank you Dr. Adesina.
God bless you bro Akinwumi Adesina and your purpose for Nigeria will be fulfilled.
Rufai I must confess, this is true journalism (No emotions, no aggression, no interjections, respect for guest). kudos to you and pls keep it up in all your appearances on TV❤
He’s calmed because he knew he was engaging intellectual personality
When you interview a man like Adeshina, the only thing you do is listen attentively 😂😂😂
Adesina, one of the most loved men in Nigeria ❤
Integrated vision! To incorporate such is a remarkable achievement.
God abeg touch my life the way you Dey touch other people life 🙏…
There is hope
Nigeria have great, intelligent and wise, men
Brilliant man. Exceptionally brilliant.
Rufai should learn better sitting posture. Interviewing at that level is serious business. The station should have posture training. Sit upright, straight back, like Dr Adesina. Slouching is bad for the camera.
All the same, great interview.
This is the kind of bright minds that should be ruling this country not these old recycled thieves and thugs.
God be with you all the way. The real panAfrican.
Great minds. Is profitable listening to prof. Adesina
What an amazing story. Very inspiring.
Rufai is so smart
(''MR. ADESINA WE THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, FOR YOUR POSITIVELY ADVANCED AGRICULTUAL THINKING OF AND FOR YOUR AFRICAN NATION'').
Funny and ignorant.
Great interview ... God bless Akin 45 and Yemisi 55 ... What an inspiration
Great interview, great mind, great brain. When will Nigeria get this caliber to lead our nation
Never as long as we keep listening to people like the current political class across all tribes
Wow, sixty-five years! Impressive?
Trust God, Be kind, and do the right thing
Very intensive
There should be a way for him to continue at the bank. He’s done very well!
These zones are designed to create economic hubs near farming communities, equipped with essential infrastructure such as power, water, roads, and irrigation systems
Well spoken.
If somebody like Akinwumu Adeshina decides to run for the seat of Presidency in Nigeria, who will mind tribe? The man is a revolutionary leader...
D north will mind....de don't care about the success of the country but just dem to be in power always. De keep dragging d country back , just observe anytime der is innovative to drive the country forward de will try to drag us backward
Oh, it's Mr. Fertiliser Adesina!
Please kindly ask Mr. Adesina what plans he has to solve the massive health problems that will arise from his planned agricultural revolution. The current "modern" agricultural system has already killed so many people and disabled many more. I'm one of the lucky survivors. With all due disrespect, capitalists like Adesina and Co. should keep their itchy hands off African agriculture. We don't want to end up like the United States where cancer and diabetes are commonplace diseases and 93% of the entire citizenry are metabolically unhealthy!
We don't want any more deadly fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides and heavy machinery. Leave agriculture alone! Our forefathers never had pesticides and tractors, but they produced good food that didn't cause cancer and ALS!
Life expectancy in America is 77 years old, in Nigeria, it is 54 years old. Don't be too bitter or afraid that you cannot copy that which will give us a longer and better quality of life, whilst making sure we discard the part of development that is harmful.
@aipboess7138 oh, ignorance. Western medicine has simply learned how to make corpses look alive for as long as possible! Most Americ@ns are already dead in their childhood. Just because they seem to still be alive by 77 doesn't mean they're actually alive! There's nothing to copy. You can't copy failure and claim to be sane. My great grandmother's generation didn't copy America and yet, their life expectancy and QUALITY OF LIFE were much higher! It's not about how far but how well. Quality of life is the most important thing. Just because it looks alive doesn't mean it's living.
Professor Adeshina is saying the same thing Mr Peter Obi has been saying. Including global development statistics and data. I hope Moka will not attack him or APC saying we no go chop statistics. Nigerians enter one chance with the kind of politicians we have today.🎉
Never bring your obi to this conversation,,,who’s obi?what has your obi done for Anambra where he was governor for 8 years without conducting local government elections for 7 years?if Anambra was really good for his eight years in office, where is he living in ikoyi Lagos? Obi is part of corrupt politicians in Nigeria, only the gullible will believe in his lies of data’s everywhere
Rufai is star-struck.. 😂😂😂
CAN HE COME AND BE PRESIDENT NOW
Imagine him and Peter Obi in the same government.
The government in your dreams.
President of Presidents.....love your style. Unquestionable intelligence and my second admirer after Obama.
You have some very sick choices when it comes to people you admire.
"We launched" not "I launched" you don't work alone.
He did use the word "we" throughout the interview.
Criminal Tunibu is blind to this experience expert, he works with fellow criminals that encourages corruption in every field.
This "expert" flooded our country with chemical fertilisers, further destroying our farmlands and worsening malnutrition.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Obj is trying to bring him to come and run against Tinubu
50 mins well spent.
Proof of God's grace
Whatever u do look twice gmo side effect, India is dealing lot medical issues now
Arise News! Do better. Read the caption again and check your spelling of "available".
Did i just here him said " Islamic Bevelopment Bank
25 billion $ in agriculture n we are still unable to buy a bag of rice or foodstuffs, scam loading
All the speak is good English. This guy, okonjo iweala, and many of them make no difference in their country future, with their phantom global positions. Kemi is teaching them how to be patriotic
I think you need to do your findings before you start making assumptions. Adesina has make tremendous difference in Africa and Nigeria
some people are just chatty overall my brother. all noise and no substance, and will criticize without doing research @tunjicollins3677
Will you stop deceiving yourself, you hear them speaking big grammar and calling big money but there is no improvement in the life of common Nigerian, you just imagine if they have not been to other countries in the world and see how things work. Nigerians are great people, but the country is a piece of shit
He hasn't made a difference in his country because he refuses to denigrate his country and call it a zoo, abi? I see.
You rightly read his mind. He's Obidiot member@@Ade93111
Wasted education, talent, and opportunities. Along with okonjo iweala, etc, all acclaimed book intellectuals and elites, Nigeria is still snooring, not desiring totaled off. Shameful and not at all emulating
Stop accepting peopke like Tinubu as your president then you will see progress. Look at what Traore is doing in Burkina Faso with much less than Nigeria has.
These guys are students of the criminal West. They know NOTHING. We need real Africans to lead Africa, not confused slaves.
Wasted???? Farfetched bro.
AfDb is like USAID huge money talks with no results on ground
I can bet if Adesina stands for the presidential election in 2027, the Emilokan gang won't vote for him.
They prefer their Lagos lanlord no matter the hunger he inflicts...😂😂😂
😂
