I follow her and watch her channel. 3 years ago she moved across the country away from friends and family. She’s never been alone until she made that personal choice. To be honest that’s made her changed in the best way ever. She’s glowing. Naz never got ti experience that because she’s never been alone to learn about herself. As independent as she likes to come out to be. She’s never been alone and then jumped into motherhood which is already a whole different of emotions. Hopefully she finds herself

I feel like she spoke about that jn episode 1 when she basically said she shut herself off from everyone (even her family) and just needed to zone in on herself. I'm not saying that works for everyone but I personally went through a *period* (as in it ended) of isolation and I grew so much in that time. But that's what worked for *me*

For those interested in college but are unsure of their major I highly recommend accessing the Career Services Department available on your campus. I am currently a Coordinator in a Career Development Center at a University and I completely understand that sometimes it is early or difficult to decide. Your career coach will work with you to assist in determining what occupation fits your interests, strengths, values, etc. There may even be a thorough career assessment available for you to take. Some institutions will let you have until you complete your basics to decide on a major which will typically take 1-2 years which gives you a little extra time. There may even be externship or internship opportunities that can help in the decision-making process if you want to explore an interest.

I've been watching Naz since her zebra room days but I'm a silent fan. However, I had to comment because I am trying to leave a toxic 8 year relationship and it's been so hard for me mentally. I'm hearing y'all's podcast while getting ready for work and I hear Yaz say "I will not set myself on fire, to keep you warm" and idk why but wow those words really stuck to me. Thank you so much for sharing that quote. I needed to hear that. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Love you guys!

Naz is so real for talking about just needing to brush your teeth and put on clean clothes before having to “clock-in” to motherhood. I get up 2 hours before my son and sometimes it’s still not enough 😂

In ethnic cultures, hair removal is one of the many rites of passages women go through for a man, ie - marriage. Other examples are wearing makeup, dressing up; wearing heels. These things are all viewed as ways to adorn yourself for your husband/soon to be husband. So for young girls wanting to do it to fit in or out of insecurity or even just to feel pretty is a nonsense argument to authoritative figures in the family circle. It is seen as a threat of a young girl's innocence, chastity, purity and worst of all - virginity.
I totally agree with Naz in that it is very unfair and can be traumatising. I would escalate it further to say it is oppressive and rooted in sexism.

I've been working in childcare/ babysitting for 9 years going on 10 years. Mom and dads but more moms need THEM time. I see SO many moms burnt out and when that happens, it hit the kids as well and a lot of parents don't see that. I 100000% agree to still take time for you, a child doesn't "end your life" they add to it to make you a better person in my eyes

I do look back and wish that I put my all in finishing high school , because children look at that and follow your footsteps . They follow by example , but I know it’s not too late for me to get my diploma . ❤I want my son to one day say that his mom had him very young but that didn’t stop her from following her dreams . As a mother I love how passionate Naz is about motherhood. I feel like we get shamed if we have help and we get shamed if we don’t have help. And usually is other women talking down on mothers. I do understand how some women w children take advantage of having help and going on w their lives and not prioritizing their children but there’s women out there who have healthy help.

I will say that me personally, ive had my alone time like Yasmin and now have kids. I know myself more now than ever! Everything you do after having kids is selfless. It’s for others. When you’re on your own, everything you do most of the time is for yourself. Sometimes being too much in yourself gets you stuck and always feeling like something is missing. I have been watching u 2 for such a long time. I really admire your family. I have 2 kids both on the spectrum and to see u with ur village is great. I don't have that help. It's just hubby and myself and my cup is so empty and im trying to refill it. But it's difficult. Not impossible but one if the most difficult things I've had to do and learn
With my husband's help I am now making time for my myself. Working out. Meditation, breathing exercises. And once and a while going out on my own to just have a coffee and listen to a pod coast or just stare off into the sky and be in my own thoughts. That has helped. I don't have a tribe but I have my hubby who loves and helps so much. Just difficult the 2 of us.
Thank u for touching on that.
