This channel has had it rough with the jack situation, but I'm honestly so impressed with the quality that came out of the whole debacle. I will admit, I really enjoyed the way that the content felt with jack narrating, but it is completely understandable that he's not doing it anymore. Recently it feels like the channel has been going back to its roots, and I really hope it continues.
My parents have a few trees tapped around our house here in Nova Scotia, and let me tell you, maple syrup is WORK. An entire season's worth of collecting usually results in less than a dozen mason jars of syrup at MOST, and that's only if we don't accidentally overboil the sap and lose some. It's a delicious reward when it's complete, though.
Thank you disrupt for not adding fake black bars on the top and bottom and uploading it in proper ultrawide aspect ratio. I have an ultrawide and this is one of the reasons i love your videos because i can actually use my full monitor.

@@ziwuri Okay? People understand my point. Being grammar police about it doesn't make you any cooler. It actually makes you look silly. Don't be silly on a video about maple syrup
Couldn't be happier that the channel is releasing more videos. But post-Jak, the stories are all on events that everyone already knows. I miss discovering things through the Disrupt style of story telling. That was what made this channel extra special.
Eh, I knew a decent amount of the older stories whilst this was completely new to me. What's missing for me is the different parts of semi-related stories with these heavy cuts/transitions between them, which always was the style of this channel
I miss the old story telling techniques, that used to be used. Their was more suspense and build it also used to feel I was watching 3 stories that would be come one at the end. Man i miss that soo much.
This. It just feels like the new format is trying way too hard now and while I can see this appealing to some, its just half the quality of the previous technique. They should start rewatching the old content and actually let the feeling in to recreate it instead of trying to ape the way the old guy talked.
The problem with the previous method imo was that none of the videos ended up making any sense because they never told you which story was which and you always expected things to be connected somehow but they werent
@@xSouthWindx But thats the good part, you werent fed the information, it was layed out to you and you could make it out for yourself, making the experience feel like youre discovering and looking at the puzzle pieces together with the narrator and leaving the resolve open to the end. Its what it made it so suspenseful too
I'm really starting to like this new style of videos. I was a fan of the old format, but wow is the quality off the charts with the new stuff. You guys are doing great!
Just for reference, an Abraham tank is over 10 million, 1 million gallons of lemon juice is roughly 15 million, 40 thousand gallons of mayonnaise is 1.3 million, and an Apache is roughly 13 million dollars per chopper
It sucks that the channel lost a LOT of momentum due to jack's actions Like you resolved the situation almost immediately but if theres one thing i know is that channels with controversies that are resolved almost never fully bounce back Like projared for example even after he proved all allegations false and proved that his ex wife was lying his channel is still a fraction of what it used to be It really sucks
as a canadian with family back east i'm so happy people will understand what maple syrup mafia means. liquid gold doesn't begin to start to describe it. it is amazing tho find a can of it if you can
If you want an other heist check the 1972 Montreal Museum of Fine Arts robbery. 18 art pieces were stolen, the thieves also stole 38 pieces of jewellery and figurine, for a total of 2 000 000$ (around 14 200 800$ today). The three robbers entered the museum by a skylight that had been covered by a plastic sheet in the course of some ongoing work. One of them was armed with a pump action shotgun and another with a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun. All three guards were overpowered and taken to a lecture hall where they were bound and gagged. The three suspect were never found.
If you want to avoid the FPAQ, there's a considerable maple syrup production industry up here in New England speaking CT through ME, VT being the more famous state for its production.
i work in a winery where we have about 300 bbls (small boutique producer) and i cant imagine draining 3000 damn barrels. I stopped at 3:15 to speculate because it is fun. The inspector guy must have been tired due to the large count. It's generally easy to tell when your typical 225l bbl is empty. Especially if you are climbing them. It is odd to me that he did not notice the second he grabbed one. Even on a stable bbl rack (iirc none of your imagery depicted them on barrel racks) you would notice the lack of heft to them. Barely touch one and you'd easily hear it resonate in a quiet bbl room. After watching. After they abandoned refilling with water I don't understand why they took the barrels remote to just siphon them. A basic siphon hose is small, siphon on site. It doesn't take that long and bring 1 hose per vessel you're siphoning into. Hell, even a barrel wand with a long hose and nitrogen tank or something is easily transportable and not cost prohibitive to acquire. Coming in after hours they could have driven in there with empties on the truck and siphoned directly from the warehouse barrels into the empties. Then driven away. No heavy lifting in the warehouse, just awkward climbing with the hose. On second thought, their lack of experience might have made siphoning too messy to try it in the warehouse. The spills would have been challenging to clean. Kinda makes me wonder what they actually did in more specific terms than just "siphon" which the video here used. They could have afforded a beast mode waukesha pump a few weeks into the heist. That could drain a barrel in like 5 seconds if they really wanted to save time.
