@@Plainview-tu7xnyes, apparently the inside story is that Fincher delayed Seven’s release on 4K because he wanted to get rid of the obnoxious collectors editions and wanted be involved with the packaging of this specific film. Both the steelbook and standard (digipack) releases that we got were Fincher’s ideas and most likely his own designs.
I love Digipaks in general, and prefer the art on this one over the Steelbook, but I HATE sleeves. Based on the pre-order pictures, it looked like the Digipak might use sleeves. I'm glad I stuck with my Steelbook pre-order! Can't wait for it to arrive!
Was looking forward to an ATMOS track but I'm satisfied with a 4k release. I wonder if the supplemental contains the blooper clips that the laser disc edition had? Guess I'll find out soon enough. I ordered the steel book edition.
This packaging looks cool, bit the disc storage is horrible. I cant even get the disc out of mine originally, it was basically stuck in there. I have to put my fingers on disc and forefully pull it to get it out. Im not one to really care that much about packaging but this was a horrible choice.
I remember watching this many years ago when it was shown on tv and it affected me! I bought the blu ray steelbook but will never watch it so I won't be geting the 4k version.
Buy “Se7en” on 4K from Amazon: amzn.to/4fIDRQL
That packaging sucks. The discs are in side holders? Pass. I'll get the steelbook.
Steelbook is even worst..smh
Yeah honestly I like this packaging way better, it’s got cooler artwork then the steelbook
Digipaks (even gatefold) > steelbooks
get the japan release
a standart release is on the way, from what i heard.. no cardboard or steelbook shit for me!
Oh dear! Cardboard sleeve disc storage?! 🤦♂Why oh why do companies persist with such an inappropriate and disc unfriendly storage method.
Yeah, makes no sense. Pretty frustrating.
@@TheBluRayCritic Music CD's have been doing this crap for 20+ years now, and they are very susceptible to scratches and marks from it.
It sounded like this was Finchers idea.

A card board mess.
5 out of 5 for a 5.1 mix😳
glad to hear the transfer looks good have the steelbook coming from Gruv
was unsure on if i should get this digipak or the steelbook but after seein how the disc is stored i went with the steelbook

Thanks for uploading this, I canceled my preorder and I’ll wait to see if a standard release comes out. I HATE cardboard slide out packaging
Sadly unlike Panic Room no ATMOS remix happy new year and greetings from Germany
Actually quite like the packaging. Surprised at the lack of Dolby Vision/ Atmos though.
I went for the steelbook but I love this one too, I didn’t know it was basically a photo album! May have to find it.
Thx, for showing the subtitles
Love the art but the sleeve holder is no bueno. Gotta go with steelebook.
Agreed se7en and the game are his best films. Tends to be the opinion of film buffs who aren’t fincher fanboys
Looking forward to checking this out. Should be getting mine by Friday from Gruv
I'm going to see this new transfer in IMAX then might upgrade to the 4K BR

Great film shame it's not in a amaray case though. I preordered this
Where's the slipcover version??!
There isn't one.

I heard David Fincher used AI for the 4k remaster is that true 😊
There's no title on the left side of the spine so it will just be blank on my shelf. Baffling design decision next to the cardboard sleeve.
Yeah it’s annoying. Personally, I would’ve prefer a standard edition with the original artwork and call it a day.
It’s on the other side of the box
Yes it’s awful
Nothing beats the criterion laser disc of Seven. It’s hand down superior. the 4K version is fantastic though.
No bluray disc for this version? Tks!!!
The blu ray looks pretty solid for me. I'm sparing my wallet.
Garbage packaging
The game is your second fav fincher film? haha what?
Color grading is very stupid
I remember watching this many years ago when it was shown on tv and it affected me! I bought the blu ray steelbook but will never watch it so I won't be geting the 4k version.
Blue ray steel book is dope! I found the blue ray/with the box slipcover brand new and it was amazing
An AI upscale unfortunately. I can’t support it
Grain? No thanks.
Thanks for your moronic contribution.
To bad that warner don't give this great movie a Dolby Atmos sound for the 4k😡
Big pass No ATMOS
Cool story bro.
Nobody cares!
We don't care 😂
Not all movies need an Atmos upgrade. But a solid 5.1 remaster for movies like this I'll accept
Why exactly does this movie need atmos?
