RDirected by Kenneth Branagh, the epic adventure "Thor" spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

It's weird that at all the premieres there's never a Loki's posters despite him being the main antagonist. It's always Thor, Odin, Jane, and Heimdall. There isn't much on Loki in the DVD/blue-ray specials either.. hum.

I liked the movie alot. Its very likable & entertaining.... but being a child of the 1980s.. i just couldnt shake the fact that this was just a larger version of 1987s MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. Soooo many similarities across the board.
great movie...just watched it today. cud have used more actions but the audience need to know the story..so it was great! so hopefully Thor 2 coming next

@thefirstwhiteknight Natalie Portman was playing Jane Foster who originally was a nurse in the comics, eventually other sources gave her other professions but always something professional, and she worked under Thor's human persona. Sif was someone that Thor was with as well, but he always went back to Jane Foster as I understand it.
That was a great movie.

@jmlew haha true but my twist was that loki had no intention of ruling asgard as we were thinking that he did when he was first introduced in the comics ( afterall they follow on what happnd in the comics in tha beginning)

Ok i just developed a extremely big crush on Jaimie. She's a beauty that is for sure but what really sold me is her love for comics. Particularly choosing a slightly obscure comic book hero like X-23 shows she isn't just paying lip service to the fans.

You know on the guy in suit without mjolmir he is......... pretty tame.
This movie was so good. All the actors and actresses brought their A game, and Jaimie being a big nerd... I could definitely see her play X-23 if that was to ever happen, even though she plays Sif. Kat Dennings character wasn't as bad as I imagined, so that's good *plus she is SEXY*. Easily ranks up there in my favorite superhero/comic book movies.

I think they mean movies made by Marvel Studios. Nonetheless, I thought Spider-Man 2 was epic the first time I saw it, but after several rewatches, I found it to be a bit too silly (logic flaws).

@jmlew It wasnt a bad film at all. It just isnt great is the problem. Its got flaws as a movie and as an adaption of teh comic- they held back a heck of a lot regarding ASGARD. Heck even Thors speech patterns were watered down to basically an English chap .
I think people are so desperate to embraise a movie after 2010s worst year EVER in the history in cinema. ( plus the fact that the economy is so depressing) people need to feel good at the movies again. America needs HEROES--like THOR

Why are people over-hyping this movie? I'm a huge fan of Marvel and DC comics and I don't understand how people nowadays are so easily pleased with mediocrity. I saw it and it was only good-to-okay at best. The plot was really straight-forward and predictable. The director could of at least thrown in a few twists.
