I use Fox Blocks for my ICF Business.. I am wondering how you level your wall straight with the braces? I use the string method with 5 inch long 1x3 screw in all the outside corners and run the string all around the building.Then by each brace we check the with a peace of 1x3 if we need to level in or out to give us perfect strait walls..

My preference is exactly what you describe. I like to have a string in place prior to concrete so we are not trying to do it while the concrete is sitting. I also like to straighten the ICF walls long before concrete because the walls seem to have a memory. If the walls are only straightened just before concrete placement they will go back to the same crookedness during concrete but if they are straightened the day before concrete they stay straight during concrete.

What is the tool being used to vibrate the concrete from the exterior? Do you do this lower on the wall and slowly move up as you fill?
In that video we used a wallbrator which is no longer available. You are correct in your wording that external vibrators, which can be as simple as a hammer against wood placed against the formwork, start at the bottom of wall and chase any potential trapped air up to the surface while concrete is being placed. Ideally a wall is internally consolidated but when needed external is better than no consolidation.
How do you get rid of the air pockets under the windows?
If you follow the Fox Blocks training, simply create an opening in the sill to allow the air to escape during concrete placement. With that hole the contractor can visually monitor the concrete and ensure the wall is properly consolidated under the opening.

Not a tool for every job but when I show up to a job and they have nothing I throw this at them. All jobs need to be consolidation and this tool works well. Of course internal is always preferred. I do like the Makita 18V vibrator.

At about 3:21 seconds into this video, you use a cordless vibrating tool. What is it?
Hi Jim, that was a wallbrator which attaches to a cordless drill. There are 2 or 3 different brands of these I have seen on line. There is a great explanation of it at the 7 minute mark of this video: Building your ICF home - Concrete ruclips.net/video/Z8u3v4LdR5Y/видео.html. They are getting hard to find.
@@glenklassen779 You'd wonder why the concrete operators didn't use a concrete vibrator with a whip cord and didn't practice what the video you suggested said to do: To operate the walbrator from bottom to top, in an upward fashion. Not just at the top.
How wide is the ICF
13 1/4" out to out. 8" of concrete plus 2 5/8" of type II EPS on each side.
