I remember when my children were young and I wanted to do the best for them but you also need to look after yourself too. Make things as easy for yourself and hubby and do the best you can. Don't beat yourself up if you can't do everything right. I learnt that this can lead to burnout and then you aren't any good to anyone so give yourself some slack. You are doing a really good job. Take care😘

I just found the apple and mango high juice in Sainsburys (as well as the orange and summer fruits) they do a sweetener free one and one with sweetener in, so you just have to check the label x

Aww Claire bless your heart. I don’t suffer with anxiety but I can’t imagine it is easy. I do get fed up though but that’s because I have serious health issues , disabled and in constant agony. I am currently waiting on 3 surgeries 2 of which are very major. I don’t sleep I am awake until 4-5 am every morning and it is draining. I feel you lovely and I hope the CBT helps. I am a qualified counsellor and know this therapy is particularly good for anxiety, so I do hope it will help you. Your certainly not going mad thought lovely and please never, ever thinks that.
Your a lovely mum and doing a great job with your beautiful kids so be kind to yourself. Make sure you allocate some you time too as I know your always rushing about with the kids and working, but remember you matter too. It can be so easy to not look after ourselves when we have kids to look after. I have a 16 year old daughter and been supporting her through all the stress of her GCSE’s right now. She has one exam more on Tuesday then she’s finished. She’s so excited and has prom next week too, then we are off to Kos for a week in 9 days. Looking forward to that and that’s her little incentive for working hard with all her exams.
I hope your feeling better soon and if you ever want to chat please inbox me. Sending you love and wishing you all the very best xxx

Claire the other sweetener that gets added to food is acesulfame K, it's as bad as aspartame. There are sweeteners that can be added as a sugar alternative these can be, agave, carob, erythritol as well as others. These will sometimes show up as a chemical name. Daughter has PCOS so, have to check a lot of stuff prior to buying.

Some tonic does have aspartame so still check, sparkling water mixed for a natural cordial is good. Belvoir and Teissiere are pricey but no nasties. Look at msg too in crisps etc, I've just had to break it to my children I won't be buying doritos or monster munch anymore! 😂

Don’t know entirely what you are feeling financially as we are fine but my husband and me spend different, have different thresholds when it comes to spending. It’s very stressful especially around the time of trips, replacing highly expensive items like appliances or tech or having a lot of medical bills suddenly. Obviously I’m American. LOL. We can’t get our internet down or our phone bill down. Usually after the contract ends you go to the place and they sign you up for a program at half the price and then it keeps inching up over the next two years and you repeat. This time that did not happen. We must be on some list? Or our credit rating is good so they figure we do not need a reduction? Even my husbands new car we usually are 0% interest. And it was 1 1/2%. Just no inventory to try and clear the lot. And the amount of the payments are double our first car loan and longer term. Now income is up dramatically. It’s not that we can’t spend that much. It just seems a crazy amount to spent on that. Anyway one thing that keeps my calm about money is every month something goes to savings, something gets donated and most get spent. It’s automatic savings. So even if I need to go into savings to pay for appliances I don’t really think on it cause I know something went into savings. Feeling okay financially and calm isn’t really about the total amount in the savings or retirement account. If we saved something, shared something and spent during the month I feel safe. Even if it pulled out more in savings to pay the car insurance an amount automatically goes into savings each month, so that process of saving month is what matters. I do not stop the savings in a month I need to pull out money. So if I put 100 a month in and need 200 out of savings 100 still goes in and I take out 200. I do not not save anything and pull out 100. A number of bills for us are every 3 months, every 6 months, etc.. So there will always be times we dip into savings. That is what it’s for. You need to find your calm about finances. And work around your spouse. Maybe a trip is more important for the next five years than retirement? Maybe you just improved a bunch of items and just putting 20 a week in an envelope will have a sum saved the next time a repair is needed and there won’t be stress cause it’s already in the envelope? Donation does not have to be a huge amount. It was 5 a week in the church basket at first. Then it was 20 after a raise for the both of us. Giving something away is very psychological. It means you believe yourself to have more than enough. That can be very calming. Or maybe for you it is a number in the account you feel fine but if lower you panic. Then you need to talk with husband about that. Another thing you could do is go around the house and declutter items you are not using. Things that don’t fit. It will tell you you have plenty. It will tell you your closet is big enough, there is room for things. It may tell you there are plenty of pants but not enough tops so when you do accumulate more it’s the stuff that will serve you best. Have your kids retire 10 items in their room. Buy less for bday and Christmas now they have money to pick things out on vacation and have done so, maybe they need 5 new things at Christmas instead of 8? Maybe Christmas is for wishes and the clothing and book gifts just get added to them when they need the next size shirt or there is a book fair or vacation and having more books would be ideal then? You seem to be changing a lot lately. Work, trips, reading, new eating. It’s on you to put the cucumber on the kids plates. It’s not on you they eat it. There are foods we as adults do not like or don’t want to even try. Same for kids. One mom on RUclips suggested a method. Put one somewhat a large bite not teeny tiny piece of the food they have not tried, not tried lately or don’t like on the plate. Don’t tell them to eat it. Maybe they put on their napkin immediately. You may throw it out several times but at some point they may put it in their mouth. But no battle. There are smells and textures and maybe the one time they tried orange it was not sweet or too fibrous but another try might be sweeter. It hanging out the plate can let them touch it or smell it on their timeline. Maybe cooked broccoli is gross but the raw crunchy broccoli is a whole different story. My son refused plain water until around age 5. Even preschool pushing the option. It was after all sweaty on playground on a hot day getting into car I grabbed a fresh water bottle I kept in car, gave it to him and he chugged all 8 ounces. From then on water tied with milk for his beverage of choice. Nearly fainted. It was so abrupt a change. All the struggle ended that moment. I had watered down so much juice in his short life until then. Sometimes I didn’t bother watering it down. Water was a game changer. Actually once red grapes, apples and baby carrots were fairly counted on to eat I felt I could relax about food. He had a few others but those things would be the go in the lunch box items. We have quite the list of allowed and forbidden food here in the US. What made no sense is since he got the therapies at school they constantly gave him candy for doing his work. Fortunately he was all sensory and never ate it. So many smarties gone to waste.
