Thanks for the comment, and yeah! It's only natural that we'd want to play the systems we had when growing up. Amiga has always been something I NEED to install on all these emulation boxes. Nothing like a quick run on lotus, or a quick game of nuclear war on the bus.

But these are running fine on the miyoo mini or even old LDK's. Grrrr :)
@@TeamPandory Well there are many issues with this android RetroArch version: c64 and Amiga games don't appear in the list of systems even after scanning. Amiga games are running fine, but c64 games don't auto start, so it's basically unusable. Even the ultra cheap ps5000 Chinese handheld offers a way better c64 and Amiga emulation (with a custom firmware). So, very disappointing.

@@anbernicguy I don't think there's any easy path for graphical browsers as these don't use a normal graphics stack like X or Wayland or a window manager. Maybe a text mode one or if there's a libretro core that is a web browser but I don't know of one
I agree with you that this is the best value. I think the extra 30 bucks for the android version really isnt worth it and if you are going to spend the extra 30 you might as well save up an extra 100 for the odin lite which destroys the 353 in performance but is obviously bigger.
For $30 you get an extra 1GB of ram, a 32GB internal eMMC, and a touchscreen. That is an incredible value, and worth it for people who want to play DS or use Android. Show me where you can buy 1GB of ram, a 32GB eMMC, and a touchscreen for $30. The Odin lite is not a comparable product because the form factor is dramatically different. I specifically am looking for a vertical 4:3 device, and the V is the most capable device after lengthy examination.
This looks like it's the exact same size as the GPI Case (which I have), and the same layout with analog sticks added. This is a device I think I'd like a lot, if I needed another handheld.
I highly recommend this device but there are somethings did not address on this video. It does cost 100 but expect to spend extra 30 for SD cards. The ones that come with are so generic that their a high risk of going bad and not working and switching them helps with the load times as well. I got some SanDisk's and the loading of the games are a lot smoother, the program I use to backup which was a life saver was Win32 disk imager (Retro gamers channel have great tutorials how to do the backup). Adding the games with the new SD were smooth, the generic ones gave too much pain by giving read only errors. Performance is really good especially on emulators for PSP and Dreamcast I played from Sonic Adventure 2 to Parasite Eve 3rd birthday on those emulators. One last thing since nintendo are very highly protected in regards to Mario games, the original library will not have any of those games for any system, like they recommend build your own library from the one they provide.
Hey there, thanks for the comment. In pretty much every Anbernic review, we mention the poor MicroSD cards. Luckily, the VS we got didn't come with it so I didn't have to throw it out ;-) You don't need to spend as high as 30$, they are around 10$ for a decent enough size- but it depends on the games you're wanting to copy on. Wouldn't say it has "good" PSP performance, this is barely making it ^-^ - again, depends on the game
Does the screen protector that comes with it fit perfectly? No air bubbles on the side? I've read somewhere that the VS version has a 2.5D screen which is mostly not good with tempered glass protectors.
This one is the sweeter deal of the 2, now often on sale around 70$, it covers retrogaming needs same as the bigger sister, Android is nice but hardware is not there for much more than what VS can do with his own OS (except some basic Android games if someone cares), maybe analogs are not great in this form factor, I prefer RG35XX's look, but for some post ps1 games are needed.

I bought the 353vs on Amazon and day 1 started having g issues with it freezing after 15-20 minutes. Sent it back got a new one and I think im having the same issue already. Everywhere I look everyone seems happy with their 353vs and 353v but im having issues. is there something I should try and change.
Check our RG552 video regarding the microsd. The black unbranded we tested and seemed to be fake-spaced, whereas the Toshiba 16gb microsd we got with this unit was genuine.

We've not actually reviewed the 353PS yet, but AFAIK, PS for horizontal and VS for vertical... The specs are near enough identical so go with the one you like the look of or want to play more. Tbh vertical orientation looks a bit goofy on this, but is more comfortable to play than the horizontal units. We reviewed the 353P a while back which I'm quite sure uses the same shell as the 353PS.
When using the linux system, the only difference would be half the memory. That slows down N64 or PSP a little. Outside that, the V has Android and a touchscreen so you can install a better N64 solution.
I wanted a console with that cute GameBoy look, but I always hated the SNES pad, especially for fighting games... so.... shit :/ Gonna have to empty the wallet and go for RG552, I can't see a better option right now. Too bad it's both very limited and very unavailable at the moment. Sigh.
We got the cheapest one with a 16gb microsd. Only the OS was installed and a few homebrew games. Install other games by copying them over to the microsd with a PC
I am quite impressed with the battery life. Had it for 3 weeks now and I get the feeling that it is very low power consumpition. Even playing PSP and Dreamcast. I dont really notice any difference in power consumption playing SNES or PSP.

Check you have enough space on your card, and also if possible make sure you're not using a generic card. Cards that are sent out by Anbernic are usually very cheap and are prone to break / corrupt very quickly - Have a look at the guides by Retro Game Corps. He goes into things into a lot of depth.

353V you can use touch screen with Android. This is stuck to only using the face buttons, but should play games pretty well. Can't believe we didn't compare NDS.
I hope somebody comes out with a loaded image for the 353 linux version. I have all the game i want on various devices and pc, but dont have the time to spend hours setting up an image for 1 specific device.
@@ryecatcher25 It should. but regarding screenscraper, they've increased security which may stop a few people from doing so. Remember you can always use the software on your computer which is free at skraper.net - OR you could use alternatives such as skyscraper
i added a few n64 games to my rg353vs but the performance is bad for those game i added.. does anyone know how to get them to work? i’m so disappointed that i can’t get these n64 games to run :/
Which games are you trying to get working? Have you tried changing the core? (push select when a game is selected to change) Sorry to say that N64 is always very hit-and-miss when it comes to these handhelds that use Linux rather than Android.

Did you get a black generic microsd with games, or was it branded? Or did you use another one altogether?

Yes, provided you have the necessary nvidia card etc. I think there are a few custom firmwares available which should bump the versions somewhat.

Cards that are sent out by Anbernic are usually very cheap and are prone to break / corrupt very quickly - Have a look at the guides by Retro Game Corps. He goes into things into a lot of depth.

How does this do DS games compared to the 353V
353V you can use touch screen with Android. This is stuck to only using the face buttons, but should play games pretty well. Can't believe we didn't compare NDS.
I hope somebody comes out with a loaded image for the 353 linux version. I have all the game i want on various devices and pc, but dont have the time to spend hours setting up an image for 1 specific device.
It's the same as all the other emuelec / jelos devices. All roms in a folder separated into sections.

@@ryecatcher25 It should. but regarding screenscraper, they've increased security which may stop a few people from doing so. Remember you can always use the software on your computer which is free at skraper.net - OR you could use alternatives such as skyscraper

i added a few n64 games to my rg353vs but the performance is bad for those game i added.. does anyone know how to get them to work? i’m so disappointed that i can’t get these n64 games to run :/
Which games are you trying to get working? Have you tried changing the core? (push select when a game is selected to change) Sorry to say that N64 is always very hit-and-miss when it comes to these handhelds that use Linux rather than Android.
