Okay you like to make stuff out of leather You remember the old western movies with the wide gun belt with the line of shells that were in loops I would like to have a cross draw holster for a 1911 with two mag pouches with spare cartridges of 16 - 45 ACP that would give me a total of four magazine
@@oldmountaindawg4593 yeah well I'm 61 I remember the old westerns but you going to have to have a modern twister with mag pouches a 1911 and a row of bullets one day soon lol 😀
Thoess little zip lock bags can be used to make fire.. fill the bag 3/4 of the way with water lock it shut, and you can magnify sunlight like a magnifying glass to start a fire...
This is a good knife! I've had one for many years and it's never skipped a beat. I also have one of their old 18 inch jungle machetes, but replaced the plastic handle scales with some Turkish Walnut handle scales. The sheath you've made is orders of magnitude better than the one it comes with. 👍
i have sp10 from okc 1gen had it for over 20yrs the sheath for mine the back is thick leather and nylon for the front. the new one really don't like, your sheath is crazy good that is wild beautiful work god bless
Wow great sheath ideas. I just made one myself. It came out good for a first one. It was for a very wide blade at the tip to the middle, chopping, then ground down to a strait blade into the full tang handle for carving. I wish I had seen this first for the leather moulding jig.
I've had one of those OKC bowies for a few years now. I snapped the very tip off using it to break down old furniture, so I had the back end ground down just enough to put a new tip on it
@@StepOneSurvivalLove the molding technique. I'm very much an amateur leather Smith, but I made a friend a customized shoulder harness system and doing the mold of the extra mags this technique would've been a million times better man thank you for the video.
I got mine about 8 years ago. It had a different sheath that I will never, ever give up. It's an awesome knife and seeing you unbox yours made me smile. Dollar for dollar it's one of the best knives I've ever bought.
Great ideas come from Great Minds. You're workmanship is "Spot On" and Amazingly Crafted. Good Luck to you on any other endeavors you may have. Bless You and Yours Brother.
That's a bad butt knife I like it. I looked it up it's under 75 bucks so it's affordable. I have a Benchmade BK 375 it's okay but expensive. Thanks for showing it. Enjoy have a great day. PS you did a outstanding job making that .that is pretty impressive.
Really cool idea. I do worry about bears when I hunt. We have imported wolves here in AZ. Came across one last May turkey hunting. It spoked and ran. Bears on the other hand will eat you here as we had a bear kill a man here in 23. Happy hunting and thanks for taking the time to make the video with your son.

Very very Nice!. I really enjoy the shared idea inventive approach to the design. Yes have an idea now for two knives I have . Also I have carried a Derringer in the past so I really like that holster very good craftsmanship obviously.
Hi Staff, would have loved to see this adapted to fit on to the strap of a bug out/day bag. Always found access to a blade on my Osprey mk2/ webbing or bergen. Easy reach as to speak. Not ideal while prone, neither were the plate carriers. I always loved finding new ways to simplify kit being a Staff you'll know just as well we were always trained that the lay out is tried and tested so fit it all and lay it all out the same as the man next to us sadly even as a nco I'd get pulled now and then for personal modifications
I like your style lol. Small force multiplier, large blade. Both easy access and fast, deadly , and useful beyond being a weapon. Ive used bullets to start fires , had to use my handgun for a hammer, it was a bad day lol
I'm a craftsman too, but a finish carpenter and tile setter. I appreciate others who take great pride in their work, as you do. It's admirable how you're mentoring your son. Well done! Like you, I'm also former military: U.S. Army Infantry Captain (prior enlisted) and Iraq veteran. I'm looking to acquire a fixed blade for Scout carry, right hand draw from the back. Do you do custom work for clients?
Right on with the leather work, i do my own and come up with neat ideas and the put them to leather, i never could afford others leather so I had to learn myself.
Need one for each side one a 45/70 /410 for snakes or for big game and the other a 9mm 357 .that be cool one a Bowie one a bolo for chopping. Yep I think that be kool
you can ad cotton for making fire fast in case of emergency, and add some fish line, a few metters, for catch fish o doing some trap for hunting or craf a night camp.
You didn't watch. Fishing line and fire tinder with snare wire is in the paracord. Cotton doesn't burn long even with Vaseline. Thanks for trying to out think me.
The first marine raiders got those but I know for a fact that later units didn't and my grand father a 4th marine raider told me that they often had to resort to sharpening the aluminum handled mess kit knives and using them as even k-bars were hard to get sometimes
Consumerism has killed man’s abilities to survive in his own. This harkens back to the days of real craftsmanship and ingenuity. To be honest with you all. Everyone should be practicing skills like this.
Awesome Work!! Love it!! Semper Fi! Served 88-94 Two Med Floats, Operation Sharp Edge, Operation Desert Shield/Storm! India Battery 3rd Battalion 10th Marines.
This is the one blade that escaped me. I started with the FF1 Freedom Fighter then the SP6, MK3 Navy, SP17, 499, SP42, SP46, SP49, SP51, RD6, RD7, RD9 and RD Tanto. Have to say the RD6 and SP6 might be my favorites. Eventually I'll add this Marine Bowie. Watch the destruction test that Joe X puts it through. Pretty damn impressive.
Firstly, great video! Love seeing the kids involved. Secondly, God bless you and your family!. Thirdly, there is a more pain in the ass way to do it! You can stick all the red capsules inside of the giant straw. And seal them with pliers and a lighter!.!
Hello, new to your channel, very nice craftsmanship and informative information. I was just talking about getting a newer Derringer and discussing different carry options. Great video Stay safe, and God bless.
You Sir, are the most American that ever Americould... I like your leather craftmanship. The big knife/small gun combo is genious.

Spotted a serious flaw. The only thing missing is Robert Conrad wearing that with a sporty vest on Wild Wild West. Too beautiful a thing.
