Easy way to remember what stars you can scoop: KGBFOAM

That is even easier than the method given on that site mentioned - thanks.

I sometimes wish the heat sink was a standard part of the ship with unlimited numbers of canisters. One thing I can say is that the method you showed to stop as soon as the scoop deploys works well and keeps heat down if done correctly, while trying to pass over the star is very tricky and often results in overheating. Your videos are a huge help, thanks!

    For the algorithm!
Thank you so much for your series. This game does has a steep learning curve, and the other videos I've watched or articles I've read didn't really help when you know *nothing*. Not knowing what to press to open your cargo scoop, for example, is super frustrating, and the menu doesn't really help, nor does the pilots manual. Your videos have made this game fun for me. I'll be sharing it with my friends that also started playing. Once I get to the end of the series, I'll post any questions (partially to help with the algorithm. )

This is one of the best tutorials for fuel scooping I've seen. Thank you!

I wish I had seen this before I ran out of fuel. Oh well, only 4 days into the game so I have a huge amount to learn. Your videos are very informative and easy to follow.

I will admit that I am fairly new to the game (74 hours total) as of this comment. I have reached 25% fuel at least twice.

You didn't get knocked out of supercruise because you weren't watching your heat. It was because you turned too sharply and fell below the "exclusion zone" of the star. You just needed to keep your trajectory above the line indicated around the star.

is there a way to how what systems have refueling?

Looking for help, I’m stuck by a sun and can’t engage super cruise as target is behind the sun. How do I do this? Fuel scoop worked though 👍🏽

    • @galacticbacon777
      @galacticbacon777  4 года назад +3

Thanks for the comment. You need to set target to something else first that is not behind the sun, engage supercruise til you are clear of the sun and then re-target.

@@galacticbacon777 [In my humble opinion] It is a MISTAKE to sugest "targeting".
      INSTEAD:
[At that moment of this instructive/tutorial]: When the ship goes OUT of Supercruise by accident (while Fuel Scooping), you should have explained WHY it happened [the ship entered the "dense atmosphere" of the star]; hence the NEED of pointing first to the "escape vector".
[Then] : Since not always there would be ~something~ else in the system to target in the correct direction (when the ship is overheating but NOT inside the Star´s atmosphere for the "escape vector" to act as a guide); the correct procedure is to VISUALIZE the star´s relative position using THE SCANNER.
. How the "Ship´s Relative Plane" relates with the rest of the objects around is not easy to understand for new players, but the BIG, GLOWY ball of gas is big & different enough that you can "play" moving around your ship and comparing how its orientation changes both in the scanner & the window of the cockpit.
-> Once you learn where "The Ball" should be positioned in the scanner *before* restarting the FSD Cruiser mode, you can avoid most of the heat damage.

This could have been done in 10 minutes or less. I also use KGB FOAM to remember scoopable stars.

Hey can you please make a video about equipping modules as per the ships for specific purposes I'm really confused and have no idea how to build a ship with available resources in the stations ?

Few things are explained in this game. Bit of a shame its so unsupported
