very excited to see your new space come together. thanks for bringing us along through the process.
Thank you for joining us
I was so happy to see you guys posted. I can't wait until spring so we can all go along with you during the whole process.
Spring will be here before you know it!
Sounds like it’s going to be wonderful. Can’t wait to follow the process.
So much to come!
I loved seeing this view of the new garden bed, this really is so helpful to see. I’d also love to see this view of the existing garden beds as this kind of walkthrough is so helpful when still in the planning phase of gardening. Thank you all!
We had planned on doing a lot of of the planning outside… but mother nature had another idea with all that snow
Excited for your new garden area . I love rocks and water features
Me too!
Welcome back, guys. Good to see you, and I’m looking forward to seeing how you develop your garden this year!
Us too!
I wish I had more time. It’s already 80° here. I’m also planning my garden out and I’m loving seeing how you guys plan things. Helps me out a lot.
You’ve got this!
I always love hearing gardeners future plans. You guys take it a step further with detailed plant materials and combinations. Excited to see things materialize!!! Can't wait for spring🤩🤩🌲🌳🍃
Spring can't come fast enough!
UNDULATING, STONE, oh my gosh, you guys are artists using your yard as your canvas. I am sooo impressed.
I like that! haha
I enjoyed listening to the brainstorming and planning conversations, but I, especially, enjoyed seeing the photographs of the plants being discussed. Thank you and good luck!
Thanks, it's a lot of fun to see it all come together!
Welcome back. You were missed. Can't wait to see the new garden go in.
Thanks! This is going to be a fun year!
Missed you guys. Plans sound amazing, can’t wait to see it come to life
Us too!
Oh how I have missed y'all! Certainly one of my favorite gardening channel, I just love how you two work with and interact with each other. About that Norway spruce, I pre-ordered one! So you can come mesmerize at mine in a few years lol.
I'm so glad you're going to have one. I can't wait!
Nice to see you guys. Been missing you. Your plans for the new garden space sound so exciting. You have introduced me to so many new varieties; I pause your video, immediately search for the plant and take screenshots to add to my ever-growing wish list of must haves for my garden (the majority of which are hydrangeas). Thank you for sharing your simple design method. I hope to use it as I develop my own garden spaces. I especially love the idea of water in the new bed. My vote would be for a pondless waterfall - lower maintenance but with the benefit of the sight and sound of moving water, hence, no mosquitoes. Anxiously awaiting the installation of your new space.
Thank you so much for watching. We are so happy when a viewer is able to take so much from a video.
Hi I garden in Zone 7b NJ. I have pondless waterfall which I love. Little maintenance and it attracts birds to my garden. I keep my running even through winter
I love this!
I'm ridiculously excited about this project. 😄
I can't wait until you get to come see it!
Good to see you two and also, can’t wait to see this new garden come to life.
We're excited to see it come to life too!
So exciting. All for new hydrangea varieties!
Can't wait!
Love you guys. Agree that Water is a must. We installed two pondless waterfalls and love it. We had a contractor that specializes in waterfalls to install it and we love it.
We would definitely be enlisting help!
It’s going to be gorgeous guys! So happy to get a video this morning! Can’t wait to come along!
We're so happy you're along for the ride!
❤ love your videos!!! You guys are so joyful… we missed you! So excited for your new space 🌻🌺🌸🌹🪻🌼

We’re excited to get started too!
Very exciting. Will be fun to follow along!

@@growformegardening It shows and it is so inspiring! 💐
This was great guys! Can't wait to see it all come together! Lots of great ideas! 🪴🌻🌳🌷🌱🦋🌾
We're excited to bring it all together too!
I am so happy to see my friends again!
Back after a much needed break and happy to be back at it!
MISSED YOU GUYS , would love to see some boulders? And some water feature of some kind it would fit in with your theme. So well welcome back.
I think the mix of materials will be awesome
Hi Christopher and Eric!! I’m very happy to see you two again and am excited to watch your newest garden bed grow ❤
Thank you!!
Nordmanniana… say that five times fast 😂Excited for your return and ps. You both look so handsome! 😊
It is a bit of a tongue twister! 😂
glad you're back! Spring is on its way ....can't wait.
That's what we have to keep reminding ourselves as the icy winds blow across the backyard
Great ideas. Thanks for sharing. I'll tell you that in my experience a pond is high maintenance and it attracts wild life - raccoons, skunks, possums - if your area is inclined to have critters, think twice. Now boulders - whew - a few of them would be breath-taking. or even a few giant cement pots. They add such year-round interest. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be beautiful. I can't wait to see it come together.
I'm really excited to see what ends up in the spot!
Welcome back, it's good to see you two again!!! Can't wait to see this come to life.
We are happy to be here!
I missed you guys. I'm so glad you're back on RUclips. I hope you guys have a show again this year. I would love to see the new bed. It has been a really weird winter in our area. Last year, it felt like we didn't have spring or fall. It was really warm.
This one has been a doozy! I don't mind the cold...I'm just hoping for an early spring!
Welcome back, excited to watch the new garden come to life!
Thanks!
I have two Campania Fountains as of now, looking for my third….so excited to see actual placements of the wonderful new border.
You're going to love this one
ooooh, boulders and water feature. sounds amazing
I think it would really set it off
Thanks for sharing all your upcoming plans. I was pleased to see your limelight hedge go, it was beautiful, but agree that it didn’t fit with all the other layers you had in your garden, which is beautiful.
It was a tough call for sure!
Good to see you both looking so well. Excited to see your new garden area come together. I love the sound of water in the garden and have had several types of fountains and waterfalls. Since you already have fountains, I would suggest going with a waterfall. You might also consider going with one with a reservoir rather than pondless, which I’ve found produces a better sound. The sound can be heard from a greater distance and also provide a sound barrier and privacy to your garden (minimizes sound coming in and going out:) Would not recommend a reflection pond. As a human mosquito magnet, I’ve found moving water to be more of a deterrent.
I currently have a waterfall that has a reservoir (hole dug with pond liner covered and surrounded in rock) in which the water recirculates from. There is a river rock bed that flows from it, but only serves the function of draining the water away with a heavy rain. It does not capture the water at the end of the stream and recirculate that way. Doing it this way was less complicated and less expensive but still beautiful.
Also love the idea of boulders around your waterfall. You can also dot a few in the surrounding area to give it a more natural look. Whatever you do, I’m sure it will be beautiful as is everything you have done so far.
Lots to consider! I do think there is an appeal to a pondless option. Way less maintenance!
Very true, especially if you have a large pond area. Ours is rather small and easy to manage. We just net out the leaves and add water as needed.
Sounds exciting. Can’t wait to see it in progress!
We're going to have a blast!
Happy to see you again !😊
Thanks!
Oh the deer will love your new water feature....lol....love you guys, I am loving your new garden...cant wait to see it come out of the ground!! Love love love your channel. Still wish we were neighbors.. Cheers!
Thank you so much! We are glad that you are here
I have a home with heavy deer pressure and have numerous deer in my yard most evenings. I don’t encourage them by putting out feed, but they’re going to pass through whether I do or not. They do not drink from my waterfall, but they do occasionally drink from a large fountain, which I’m happy to provide them fresh water. It’s funny to watch them because I can see this fountain from my kitchen window, and they will look up at me as if to ask, “Is this OK?”
haha ...silly deer
🌟Looking forward to this new season and seeing your vision unfold. Bright spot in turbulent times.
That's the plan!
Can't wait to see what you guys do - missed your, videos you both look fantastic and Eric you are looking great hope you are well. Missed you guys
Thanks! Much needed winter downtime!
I was just wondering when we would see something from you. This new garden space will be spectacular, as is the rest of your garden. I really love your style.

It will be so much fun to watch it come together
No doubt that the new bed will be simply amazing! You have curated a beautiful and fantastic & complex retreat for the senses.❤
Your Limelight Hydrangea hedge was magnificent......
Thank you so much! The limelight hedge served its purpose well, we learned a lot from it.
I'm so excited for the new garden to get underway.
Us too!!!

Go for it!
This is so exciting. Can’t wait to go along for the ride. 🌲 🌳 🌹 🌱

Hello! New subscriber, good timing, going to creating a new garden next to a new shed. This spring.. prob 20 feet long and also a bit curvy, and depth 14 and less.. Thanks for the great ideas!
Welcome! We are so glad that you are here
Welcome Back! Looking forward to the new garden! Thanks for taking us along with you!
We're excited to share the journey!
You are just talented and have great vision. Beautiful gardening.
We try! It's what we love.
Oooh, I love the texture of the sawara cypresses! I look forward to seeing the Blue Moon.
It will be incredible.
I am so excited to see how your new garden bed transforms! It's going to be so fun to follow along and see everything come together. Have the best time designing and planting!
Thank you! We are so glad you're here
My vote is for a pondless waterfeature! That would be beautiful!
Once the snow melts someone is coming to walk the area to talk about it!
So glad to see you back can’t wait to follow this journey of the new border ❤🎉xx
Thanks!
Yeah you’re back!! Now to sit back and watch the video 🤩
Thanks, I hope you enjoy it!
Great to you two again 😊 looking great Eric. Hugs from Australia 😊
Thank you!!
Really missed you guys. Sorry to see that hedge go, but glad it lives on somewhere else! Just started seeds yesterday, can't wait for spring.
It will be missed, but we're happy it will find a new home!
So happy to see you both. I’m so excited for your new adventure. I will be sipping my morning coffee while you gentlemen work , I’m so exhausted already, lol. While you were discussing your plans I kept on wishing for you to mention a water feature, thank you! Keep on dreaming….
Thanks for watching! It’s going to be a busy season!!!!!
l love the snow!!!! So great to see you both. l love everything you have planned for your garden. The water feature? you may want to consider mosquitos, they will not lay their eggs in running water. The reflection pondrá may be a magnet for those annoying little creatures😂😂😂 then again l really don't know what your mosquito situation may be! ❤❤
Thanks so much! We’ll definitely take the mosquito factor into consideration.
Hello Christopher and Eric 🌞wonderful to see you again, I have been checking and missing you! Looking forward to all the wonderful ideas, looking forward to follow you along this new path.
It's great to be back!
It’s good to see you guys again. You have been missed. 😊
Thanks, we've missed you too! 😊
Love your musings on the new garden. I am eager to see the progress.
Thanks! We are excited
We are so excited to see how your project develops. Evergreens are an important part of the mix in any design.
100% We can't wait to share with everyone some of the incredible varieties from Iseli that we are adding
So glad to see you both. I always look forward to your videos. You’re going to be very busy, albeit a good busy.
It is going to be a whirlwind of a spring!
I LOVE your background guys!
Thank you! We are in love with the plants inside. Should we do a video talking about how we care for them?
@ yes please!
ok!!!
Omggggg, I’m 3 min in and I can’t believe it! Scared yet excited! I can’t wait! Good luck guys xo
Haha yay!
Glad to have you back! January is definitely a much needed time for rejuvenating REST and to begin dreaming, planning for the season ahead! Looking forward to seeing that west garden develop! 😊
Thanks so much! We definitely needed it.c
Hello!!! I live in the woods in a reproduction saltbox about an hour southeast of Buffalo. In fact Letchworth is less than 10 minutes away. When we built the saltbox, we realized we would need a sump pump. Our sump pump feeds our 10x12 foot pond which has a waterfall feature. The moving water keeps mosquitos from taking up residence as well as the goldfish do. The pond after 17 yrs is self supporting, I do not need to feed fish, and it's balance means it is clear at all times, unless after a rainfall. Standing water, makes me nervous and so I have never featured it. Love your vision and your courage as you mature your garden. Way to go!!!
What a great way to incorporate some infrastructure into something beautiful. Its sounds wonderful
So exciting, Eric and Christopher! Can’t wait to watch this garden evolve!
Thanks so much for watching!
Picea orientalis Firefly is by far one of the my most favorite recent intros from Iseli. Great color and can be tucked into the border because it grows so slowly. BTW We decided to go with the hybrid Korean maple Alpenglow - can’t wait for it to land here in the late spring Zone 6 New England
Alpenglow is incredible. It may happen in the future!!
I can't wait for the new videos! You guys give me so much inspiration.
We can't wait to share them!
So nice to see you back. Your new plan in the garden is going to look beautiful. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me to start thinking about my garden. ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks, it's going to be fun to see it come together!
So excited to see you fill the new garden space. I'm going to add some Luminary Phlox to my garden this year, thanks for the inspiration!
They really are so beautiful in the garden!
I’ve been waiting for your video🎉 so excited for your new garden area!!! I’ll be patiently waiting. Glad your both are healthy and enjoying your winter. Happy planning.
Thank you!!!!!
Thrilled to see you two again! I’ve been checking your YT channel weekly. I’m so excited to hear of your plans for 2025! Can’t wait for this growing season! 🌲🌿🌷🌺🌸🌼🌻 and don’t forget your veggie beds! 🍆🥬🫛🍆🌶️🫑🥕🍅
Oh we have LOTS to come!
Thank you guys for such a comprehensive planning discussion, and an excellent reference for my own garden planning!🥰🌸🌲🇨🇦
Thanks! We're happy to share!
Can’t wait to see you design come together! Your garden is so beautiful.
It is going to be a lot of fun to see it come together!
Paperbark maples are beautiful and deer resistant, I think your yard needs one or three 😁
We have one!
@ Oh! well I need to pay more attention 🤦♀️ I’ve been trying to figure out what to add to my yard and stumbled up that and thought about you guys lol
@@bonniemccormack1361 well thanks for thinking of us! Our paperbark is in one of the two square beds in the middle of the back yard. It's still small, they are so expensive that we started with a tiny one
I've missed you! What a wonderful way to make a comeback.
Thank you for giving us a peek at your design process. Even though I've been casually (compared to you and other content creators) gardening for 30+ years, I have so much to learn, especially about design.
I'll be referencing this video often. It's a tad early for me in Minneapolis area. I only started to think about annual color themes.
Eric, whatever you're doing you're looking good. I've been following carnivore for 1.5 years and feel my progress is slow.
We are trying to get ourselves organized early because the project is so big!
Hello, from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 zone 5b & talk about cold ❄-22 night we had 😮 Sick of winter & love the design.
That is incredible!!!
This is so exciting! Thanks for sharing your vision! I can't wait to see it!
Thanks for watching!
Glad to see you guys!
I don't think there was a microphone. I had to turn you boys up to the max. haha
We actually had two! I swear RUclips adjusts the volume sometimes
Great to see you! Anxious to see the new additions,
Very soon!
I love your videos. I would love sometime to see the cover on the sitting area around/above your firepit. Have you made a video and I missed it? Share any info you have would be appreciated. I can hardly wait for you two to start planting.
Hi there! The top of the pergola is louvered so it opens and shuts, nothing too interesting on top!
Great to say hi to you after Gypsy in NYC! Sorry if we startled you!
Oh my goodness that was so fun! I’m so glad you said hi…and what an INCREDIBLE show!!
Oooh. Very exciting stuff. I'll be interested to see this progress and am curious to see how many of your plans shift as you work through it. If you're at all like me, you start with a fairly solid plan of where you think plants will go until you place them and then it changes. Regardless, it's going to be beautiful.
Oh absolutely...it will be shifting all over the place
I have a special interest in growing food in a nice manner and have gotten some great ideas from you.
That is awesome to hear!
So excited to see your garden plans become reality this year! Love all your ideas. Definitely fence in your phlox. We were under 8-12 inches of snow for the whole month of January, and the rabbits and deer have eaten and gnawed on shrub structures like they never have before. Hopefully, I haven’t lost too many items. But, from know on, almost everything will be planted with its own protective shield. Ugh. Great work guys!
I definitely think I am going to do it. They are just too beautiful to mess around!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. As a beginner gardener in zone 6a/ West Michigan, I have a ton to learn as I work on refurbishing my 20 yo garden beds. I will be stealing a few ideas from your video. 🌲
I'm so glad you found things to take from the video. So much more to come!
I’m so happy to see you
We have excited to get back to it!
First of all, the pondless water feature is a game changer. Mine runs year round and I love hearing the sound & watching the wildlife. Second, your garden ideas are very appreciated- especially your thoughts on the evergreen interests- something my garden lacks. And last, I ordered 6 Dannahue roses from David Austin last November and just got told 2 was ago that ONLY one would be coming. They told me the others were not up to their standards. I AM NOT A HAPPY camper about this as my newly refurbished beds were designed around them. I hope you have better luck.
Honestly I think it's a sign of a good company...the weather has been so strange and David Austin's are grown in Texas for us.
Hi guys, great to see you. When you mentioned the pondless waterfall my mind went immediately to your berm garden, and how it would be backed by a natural open space. But I liked your vision as well in the new bed. I also love the still pond idea for that new bd. To me it fits in better with the aesthetic of your garden and the contemporary touches. But I hear you re: mosquitos -I don't always consider that issues since they aren't a big problem in my garden (zone9 norcal-no summer rain) an I put mosquito bits in my collected rainwater in spring just in case. I seem to remember that Erin (Impatient Gardener) has a still gazing pond of some sort ? Maybe reach out to her and see what she does for skeeter abatement. Assuming I'm remembering right concerning a still pond in her garden. Anyway whatever you do looking forward to following along.
Mosquitoes 🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟
are Minnesota's other state bird. 🥴
Thanks for reminding me about Erin. I'm going to check it out!
haha
🎉excited your back and looking forward to following this process with you.
We are so glad you are here!
