Please don't get trapped in endlessly improving and developing the game. It has to be released at some point, early access can provide a lot of feedback
@@doctorpliha9992”technically” is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, you know they meant they can’t wait for the game to be finished and released out of gated preview or Early Access 😊
The only thing wrong about this hippos being chill. They are normally agressive af. But this is so beautiful. You have a great art direction for sure. And enviroment looks natural despite having supernatural elements. And mushroom trampolines that would be fun we can make our own 3d platform game inside the game
The one thing I really wish to have in this game is the wand system of Noita. I'm actually thinking about trying to mod it in, if the current fighting system gets to the full release. The game looks already super polished in all other aspects, but the fighting still looks very basic so far...
I saw some comments about multiplayer and how it would be huge for this game, and while I can see that being the case, I don’t think the game has to release with multiplayer or even ever HAVE multiplayer, it's already such an amazing project and being able to create single player worlds looks super fulfilling and magical. Also, multiplayer is understandably difficult and costly to incorporate which is just not feasible if the resources aren't available. In my eyes, as long as the vision of this game lives on, and you're having a good time making it, that’s the best case scenario, multiplayer or not
This game blows my mind every time I see it. It has the potential to be one of the greatest games ever created. Awesome stuff, really inspiring to see. EVERY feature in this video looks absolutely amazing, so polished. I love the bouncy mushroom you added! You ever think about adding like a Grappling Hook or clingable moss for walls and ceilings or something? Maybe even ziplines? Maybe they’re already implemented, I don't recall! Either way, amazing video and I’m just flabbergasted by your stuff
I love the direction you're taking in implementing "unconventional" stuff like biomes or mobs which you don't often see in games like yours. I can't wait to try it!
Today I am doing my version of a traditional Brazillian dish called pântano com cogumelo. It is a very sticky dish made with strechy mushrooms on top and it may look good but some people dosent like the smell. What I added was glowing mushrooms they lessen the smell to make it more appetising. It is a marvelous dish although needs to cook for weeks.
Use ceiling trap doors and mushrooms to go out of the house by jumping like Mario. It would a fucking bother everytime doing it but it is a damn fun idea. Even better just do water trenches around it to make it feel like an underwater base. You can put thin lava layer (acid is also feasible) between two glass panels to protect your house and tint the water color view red put some pet sharks there too so it looks like bloody water from inside all the time.
A question, Tooley, are you going to add character progression? Like basic tools from flints to minerals and more advanced crafting with ingots, and what plans do you have to add more fauna in the future? Caves?
@@Tooley1998 I'm glad that the project is growing even more. I'm going to follow you on Patreon. Do you have a planned date yet? Why don't you release the early plan?
@@shinog1006 Its only one dude I think working on the game. Its gonna be a good while before its released. As long as theres still backers, the scope will increase and will take longer. Just be patient and play some other things for now. I like to forget that a games being developed, makes it go by quicker.
Absolutely gorgeous. One small thing I notice is that at 1:01 you can see that the stone texture looks a bit too much like a repeating tile set. But all looks amazing and I am stoked to get a chance to play it
It's a small detail, but can I just say, thank you so much for making your water shader's resolution match the voxel density of the world. It adds so much cohesiveness that something like a minecraft shaderpack would just throw out the window.
GOODNESS GRACIOUS, this is absolutely stunning. The sheer technical achievement on display here is jawdropping-I can't imagine what kind of optimization techniques you've had to invent to make this possible. I've dabbled just enough in game engines to know just how much sheer work this is, my gosh. And, on top of it all, it's not only physically functional, it's positively gorgeous! You continue to amaze.
Awesome Job again! I am so happy you are working on this project and not leave it unfinished! I also really love the atmosphere your game give. Maybe with some flying bugs, dragonflies and amphibia the mushroom biom would feel even more alive. Also maybe interactions between animals or animals and Plants would give it a ghibli studio feeling of a living world!
What an awesome new biome! I also like all the other additions and improvements you've added. I can't imagine how amazing this game will be by the time you declare it worthy of version 1 status! This truly is a labour of love and it shows. I continue to enjoy each of your updates on this lengthy project.
Hey Tooley! I'm from Brazil and i've been watching your progress with Lay of The Land and i absolutely enjoyed the game! I don't have money for Patreon or Ko-fi but i'm excited to see more content! You are the best dev i've seen in a long time! Stay strong bro
Very easy improvement! Especially with the improved flora, updating the forest ground texture to include spots of dirt or darker mud or otherwise non green texture variation would greatly enhance the forest biome. Whether that's just updating the texture or creating a blend layer, having essentially a solid green ground texture behind the very similarly colored green vegetation detracts from the depth that the foliage provides and reduces visual clarity. I think having something for the plant life to contrast against from the angel its viewed from would really make the biome pop!
Every video you release makes me want this game more and more. I really hope the release is soon, but if it's not that's okay. Take your time to make this a good game.
it would be nice if the floor of the mushroom swamp was different, like a brownish purple with leaves. And probably some spore particles for the mushrooms?. It looks good, but to be honest it looks like a normal forest biome with some mushrooms and ponds.
That's how it's done, hypixel did a whole blogpost explaining their launchpad and you just showed an improved, cooler version without saying a word, straight to the point.
Beautiful, great job as always ! The immersion is on point, except for the walking sensation, it feel slow and weird imo but i'm sure this will be fixed one day :)
i genuinely have not been so excited to play a game sine i was a kid. the wait for release date is the equivalent of looking at the game box on the car ride home. looks amazing
The game is looking better and better with each update! I think some mangrove like trees dotted around would really hit the spot in that new biome! Perhaps some trees could also have mushrooms growing out of the trunks, to really sell that its a mushroom covered environment. Some persistent ground fog would also really sell the swamp vibe, if that's something that ever gets implemented. Could even be reused for morning fog effects!
You should have a weather percentage function per biome so that every biome gets all(or most) weather types but some get more than others! For ex: This biome would have a higher rain and fog percentage than a plains biome. You could also raise the percentage based on the time/season for seasonal weather or things like morning dew/fog.
Is the Mushroom jump feature an indirect inspiration in the Mushroom Hill Zone from Sonic and Knuckles? hehehehehehhe Loving the updates on this game. Can't wait to try it with Proton.
You totally have to make a benchmark mode where it renders out scenes like this. Would look so good and provide some useful data as there’s not many voxel benchmarks available.
looks really promising!! i really hope you'll add fancy creatures as well! like mountain biomes where the dragons sleep. where you can fight against them, or set foot in their dungeons await with big treasures and maybe hatchable dragon eggs! (i dont even know if this is part of your vision, just a silly wish haha)
this would be absolutely insane in VR (you may have heard this before and it would require a ton of changes that would be extremely tedious to pull off but just saying the visuals and sounds are absolute cinema and it would probably fit very nicely with the building and crafting system)
Great trailer...oh, I may have commented this same thing on another of your videos, because whenever I look at a steam game, I always look for a demo first... but you need a demo, this is absolutely stunning work!
I feel the hippos need to be larger, or maybe those are baby hippos. Many people seem to be confusing them with capybara so I think scaling them up will help. Maybe playing with the colors to make them a bit more purple. I like the direction the game is going and its been fun to watch it grow, I am most excited for updates to crafting :)
I love this! The new animals are wonderful. I wonder how dangerous are the hippos? If I recall correctly they can be quite dangerous and fast if provoked. The anteaters deserve anthills to feed on! Please make this a thing. Are you thinking about adding a crystal-biome? I would love to see that done right. Maybe trees infused with crystals power and a connection to an underground biome of dangerous crystalstructures that leak power everywhere with goodies to find. I will keep following the developement. This is becoming really nice!
Cant wait to see how you do weapon/tool progression. Would love something in the sorts of terraria with finding artifacts/weapons that you cant craft along with combining them. Great Job
