I use Nikon D3300 with 35mm f1.8 for wider real estate shots. I have a G85 for which a 45mm f1.8 will be a perfect combo for tighter outdoor shots of details. But in low light will the apsc camera work better than MFT.

Hi Germaine. The larger sensor of APSC cameras means they tend to get better results in low light. However, if you are using prime lenses, I find that MFT cameras still do a great job in most low light situations.

@@CameraGeeks Thanks for your response. My Olympus 45mm f/1.8 came yesterday. It is really a fabulous lens. Can't believe I can take such good pictures. Now I need a wide angle lens for real estate shoots (including interiors with challenging light). Will Panasonic 8-18mm f2.8-4 be good (G85) or Tokino 11-16mm f2.8 (d3300). Tokino is half the price of Panasonic but I don't want my clients to feel cheated by low quality pics and videos.

Great video Ben. 2:48, that's some serious primary and secondary audio recording, lol.

Haha! Three sources you can see in this shot plus I think had a Tascam dr40 close to a speaker, just in case! 🤣

Great stuff.. what profile are you using? Natural? Also do you ever shoot vlog?.. I like the grading options it gives but if I want to shoot 50p I need 10 bit then I need to shoot down to 1080 rather than 4K.. losing the options of Better resolution and cropping options!

Hey Mark. I tend to shoot natural with sharpness and contrast knocked down a bit. I like it because only a light grade is needed. I've never really shoot in v log... It's something I should definitely play around with though. Rather than applying a strong grade, I normally just try and get it looking authentic to how I remember it.

😂Clearly this guy took a Klonopin before making this video.

Hi! How is the focus ring on the lens to use for manual focussing? We have the Panny 35-100 but only use it for ceremonies as we can set focus and largely forget it. The focus ring is horrible to use with the focus by wire system so we tend to only use touch screen or back button autofocus to set it for the shot. Is the focus ring similar on the Olympus? I'm comparing the new Voiglander 60mm (with mechanical manual focus) with the Olympus lens - that focus ring will be the decider. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't have personal experience with the 75mm but all the autofocus m4/3 lenses use focus by wire. You can adjust the settings in the camera to fine tune speed and acceleration but there's always going to be that disconnect there. If you're manually focusing anyway I would go with the Voigtlander plus you'll get more flexibility with the larger aperture.

Yes, as Feddler mentioned it's still focus by wire. It's a shame as all of the Olympus Pro lenses have the amazing manual focus clutch for a much better experience. I'd probably go with the Voigtländer if manual focus control is important to you...it's just a shame it won't have quite the same reach. However, I suppose the ex-tele photo mode will get you a bit closer.

@@speddyfeddy1234 thanks! I have the Olympus 40-150 f/2.8 and that has the option to switch between focus by wire and proper manual focus by clicking the focus ring forward or back, which is a really nice feature. I was hoping there might be something similar here.

Got my 75 1.8 recently and it makes quite a loud noise when changing aperture (on video it’s silent). The lens makes a noise when taking a photo and the manual focus ring is also somewhat loud. Is this normal? I use a GH5. (Tested on my olympus pen and the aperture change is always silent)

Oh no, that doesn't sound right. Just tested mine and it makes a noise but on a very similar level to changing aperture on other native lenses. It was actually silent in photo mode when changing aperture but made a quiet 'flicking' sound in video mode. The focus ring makes a quiet noise when in video mode. Almost like some tiny cogs turning. Hard to know if your sound is normal or not without being there. If you're worried, maybe you could take it to a camera shop and ask their opinion?
