That pilot sure knew exactly where his 3-point attitude was!
I believe this was testing the new "no bounce" landing gear that the Army required for the L-16 series. The testing was done to make sure it was up to Army specs.
You can sure see the "no bounce". They're really slamming that thing down, and it sure sticks to the ground!

You mean those aren't normal? Mine all look like that.
The no bounce and regular gear look the same when all retracted. You can only really tell when they are extended. The no bounce really hang low.
