General Hospital - Apr 97 Emily is rushed to GH's ER

April 21, 1997. Part 3/3. Reginald tells Alan and Monica what happened to Emily. They rush to the hospital. Meanwhile, Emily is rushed into an ER room where Dorman is the attending ER physican. Ned and Jason want another doctor but there isn't one. Jason tells Ned that when Sonny finds out who is selling drugs, they'll be stopped.

I did like how Ned was here. How supportive and protective he was of Emily. I hated how much he put AJ down about his drinking and the accident with Jason in the future, though.

Well, they had their own problems with the Dorman trial. As for AJ, he's actually off doing somebody...ummm...Carly specifically. LOL. These are the same people who didn't notice that Alan had a drug problem either...until it was way too obvious and way too late.

yeah the soaps where much better and also in a better place but the decline has been slow but comparing GH now to even 97 is just mind blowing but that's the situation GH finds itself among the few other remaining soaps.

I would agree, Cam, from what I"ve read about GH. I do think their downfall started with Carly came onto the show back in the mid-90's. After some time, for some her character appealed so much to so many people. I still don't understand that one. Then Guza started killing off all the moral characters and families (like the Quartermaines) on the show.

@@brynne77 Because all Carly character did and still does is show how low a person will go to get whoever and whatever they want. GH doesn't have characters with morals anymore just characters that can't act. They don't have a clue on how to act with a serious storyline. So, they try to make people think Carly, Sam and Liz are good actors and some people buy it accept the people that watched GH when it was on top of it's game.

@@trish72010 Ok. Really disappointing. I'm really glad I was watching it when the show and characters were in their prime and actually had characters that had some decent values. I'm really sorry about what viewers have to watch now.

@@trish72010 Rebecca Herbst did do an incredible job with the rape storyline but 2000 on all they did was turn Liz into the baby making machine and SJB was great when she was on weather or not you liked the character. Can't speak for what they do now since I stopped watching in 2013.

when Wendy Riche left in I believe 2001 is when the shift started in earnest although it had its roots starting as far back as 98 or so. By 2001 the hospital among other non mob aspects was becoming less significant that was also the last year of the Nurses Ball as well. By late 2004 Sonny,Jason and there current love interests where firmly locked in as the leads and its been that way ever since.

I think that 2001 GH was still good. It did show a shift in the show, but at least the vets still had stuff to do - ex: Endgame storyline. It was 2002/2003 where things really started going off the rails IMO.

Tuc Watkins initially played David Vickers on One Life To Live in the mid 90's when he and Tina tried to pass him off as Victor Lord's long lost son.
