    Kudos to that A-10 driver for doing very well against a very dangerous aircraft. That pilot really held thier own.

      Its a testament to how unique and well-executed Enigma’s Cold War is, when a MiG-15 can be credibly described as ‘very dangerous’ in a scenario Tomcats and MiG-29’s are active.

    @4:11 The mig21 pilot jettisoned the bombs (discarted) instead of dropping them active. It's surreal how many people do that!

      Not jettisoned, he litterally ripped them off with over-G, the '21 has some constraints on how much G's you can pull depending on the loadout.

      @@algroyp3r The limit on the bomb pylons is actualy 6G. Its very easy to rip them, 6G in 21 is basicaly nothing. Lots of people also forget to arm the bombs (theres a separate switch for it).

      @@marduk87 Yes. I find the weapon controls in the 21 to be very unintuitive and complicated. IR/SARH, gun/launch, shoot/bomb, gyro/missile, pylon wheel with repeated options, the arm switch. This didn't need to be a million switches. But it does feel very Russian.

    6:56 I wonder what was that MiGs thought process with airbrakes out, full afterburner, not trying to mask by terrain when going over ridge... That makes no sense!

      @@coyoteeffect He way to far to try to scissor it, but either way, if brakes are out why is afterburner on?
      Probably he completely panicked, losing awareness of the state of the airplane.

    4:20 isn't a mystery, man pulled out so hard his racks ripped off under G before he could hit weapon release 🧠 Diving in afterburner is a real winner of a choice too.

      I didn't even know that was possible on the MiG-21. I guess it's because I never dive in afterburner lol

      Tanks and A/G stores don't like much G. Good reason not to arm your bombs until airborne (especially if it's a nuke, ask me how I learnt that one)

    The F-5 gets help section makes me wonder, what sort of skill level have you set the AAA on your server to so that they can still potentially kill people but they don't dominate everything that flies near them?

      Just maneuver, even with perfect accuracy, these AAA will not hit you if you fly correctly, simply for the reason that you can always move out of the way of their bullets. Don't fly straight and keep some distance.

      @@algroyp3r No I am meaning how do they determine what a good setting is, do they do testing or have they just gradually fiddled it up and down until they reach a happy "good enough" setting. And what is that setting? Is it like 20% of maximum possible AI difficuly or 80% or whatever.

      @@jimmydesouza4375 usually i set "good" for my mission, if you manouver you can 90% avoid it but if you fly straight one, max two low passes and you will be a flaming ball, especially the S-60 which is very accurate, i think enigma has at least veteran tho

      Not sure why you showed that MiG-15 v A-10 fight.. the A-10 player had no idea what they were doing.

    I’m not saying this to be mean or to be a troll, but after many months of enjoying your server and contributing on Patreon, I’ve stopped. Maybe it’s a side effect of your server’s success, but it seems that the worst players from the likes of Growling Sidewinder’s air quake server have migrated to yours bringing with them their worst habits. Taxiway launches are now common place, few if anyone talk and coordinate on SRS, and few of either side seem keen on supporting the ground war side of the server.
    It’s great that your server has become so popular, but for me this popularity needs to be policed more closely, as the players who used to make your server so good, now seem to be absent, probably because they can’t get on so have moved to Buddyspike 80s

      ECW is and never was a larper server, its there to have fun. If you take off from the taxiway, no one gets killed in the process Id call that a successful takeoff :) About the ground objectives, when I play I always engage something, because influencing the battle is most fun to me, but if people dont want it let them be.

      That is absolutely correct though Im afraid, but it has nothing to do with people's behavior on the server, Ive never had issues with it.
      It has one simple reason: The 50 player cap. When my friends and I want to play on the weekends we do not intend to wait 30 mins or more until 3 people can hop in, we want to play right away. So we simply went to either Tempest of Buddyspike, because you dont have to wait there. I mean, ECW has over 20k registered players iirc, and then having a 25 player limit per side is kinda .. weird. It was critical even with 60(30), but now with 50 (25) its just almost impossible for a group of friends to join with reasonable waiting times.

      Im pretty certain that taxiway take offs are forbidden and were listed so in the rules posted on the ECW Discord (which I can't seem to get on anymore to verify). When the server used to have regular GCI support, you'd be granted permission to use a certain taxiway if the main runway was cratered but outside of that scenario it was a big no no. Only last week I was killed twice by people going full AB on a taxiway and hitting me. No appologies followed in chat and this seems to be norm rather than the exception. I'm not claiming that ECW is was ever a larping server, but it at least used to be well stocked with simers rather than gamers, the difference being subtle but important, and right now it just feels like no one is driving the bus @@Spicysauced

      I think this is really just a reflection of DCS rather than the server. At the end of the day, the game has not really fundamentally changed all that much. Expecting the same people to play the same server after 2 years over and over again is not really something that most people will do. People migrate in and out. Multiplayer is completely broken in DCS right now. Most of the veteran players know this and are just waiting until the game gets fixed. I haven't flown regularly in about 2 months.
      In general, after 2 years of working with developers and the mission editor, I am of the opinion that DCS is really only built to handle simple multiplayer scenarios for large servers. The game simply cannot handle really complicated scenarios when you have a really populated server. So you either have simple scenarios that are populated or you have complicated scenarios that are devoid of pop. We are really pushing it to the limit while still retaining a large playerbase. If we try to go and make things more complicated then the pop will suffer.
      The other points you bring up I do not really agree with. In general, the state of the A2G is actually really healthy right now. We are continually seeing that both sides are doing a2g and the rate of kills from an a2g perspective is actually at the highest it has ever been.

      Those poor F1 are always on the receiving end in these videos. I actually don’t remember the last time we saw one get a kill. 😂
