I always wondered why they changed the Fish animatronic. The one seen at the 7:45 mark was kind of ugly and didn't really resemble Cher (whom the Sole of Rock & Roll was parodying) all that much; the later one had a much better design.
JEHMSZ I think it's because the original design didn't make it clear that she was supposed to be a fish. Her pose was more contorted and her face was too small. With this one, you can clearly see the tail fin.
Her real name is Cher-acuda in the concept art that’s what she was supposed to look like. Before they decided to do a parody of Cher they made a Tina Turner parody her name was Tina Tuna and her song was What’s Meat Got To Do With It.
Kitchen Kabaret wasn't the best show, but it made the smart choice to aim more retro. It opened in 1982 and the most recent musical styles it used were from the 50s. Also, the songs weren't all just obvious parodies. This... well, I liked it the first time I saw it, but looking back on it, it was just trying too hard to be hip (chalk that up to Eisner, I guess). It just dated itself really badly. Also, the lighting effects failed all the time.
It's a good thing I didn't see this until I saw this on RUclips because it is just D A T E D *DATED!* However if they TRULY wanted to date this attraction, they must have had to spoof the popular songs from 1991 to 1994!
This new incarnation had way less motion than the previous kitchen Kabaret show. It's like only the eyes and mouth moved here and barely any other movement. Completely sold out to popular tunes whereas the original was more charming and refined.
Ok, this is the first time I'm seeing Food Rocks... it's no substitute for Kitchen Kabaret... but its it sad/pathetic that I like how grodey Excess look? I mean, you want to emphasize the point that junk food is bad, and they look the part... their song could've been more metal, though. Lol
I’m so glad I can watch this again! It was copyright struck for awhile. One of my favorite Martin vids!
I like how they had to put in applause sound effects in, as if they knew that no one would like it
If nobody liked it then why did people go to food rocks

I Like old version better

RIP Food Rocks
Did food rocks use to be the kitchen kaberet or where they 2 separate shows
Photongeitvemickeyftwborisftl Vcg chtd different show but in the same space
In January 1994 Kitchen Kabaret closed and got replaced by Food Rocks.
Food Rocks closed in January 2004 and got replaced by the queue line for Soarin
a big F-U to whomever put in a copyright claim
Thanks for this awesomeness! Just curious, what was that intro song when the Kitchen Kabaret clips were shown?
Innoventions, not sure the song title though
What happened to Food Rocks? I guses that Soarin was good but I alway said "Out with old,in with the New"
they demolished it.
Oh let me be your *high fiber!*
Can I use this as a pickup line?
No idea, but to be honest, Pita Gabriel is my favorite.

y did the old one close???
Disney decided it was too old fashioned and they needed a cooler, hipper update, so this one with the pop songs replaced it.
+IsItModern thank goodness it's gone now.......looks like it was a bad replacement.......at least we have soarin instead
I think there were also too many characters, so they seem too small.
less movement how?
Does anyone know if the eggplant (Neil Moussaka) have a mouth or not?
I think that it doesn't have a mouth, it's always hidden behind the piano
Not gonna lie; there's times I'd rather do this than go to Soarin'. Lol
you prefer soarin or this?
Agreed. Soarin' is so over hyped. It's for people in the middle of America who have never seen an IMAX movie.
@@larryhunter6384 But come on, you really wanna see THIS over one of the most AWESOME attractions that Disney has ever made?!

Old animatronics are better
