You both are fast becoming my favorites on YT for guitar playing. Tim is brilliant and I dig Papa's attitude and appreciation for other quality players.
Tim is a "sound designer" who creates a sonic reality with his experience, fine taste and refined technique playing a guitar and pedals. Like finding a gold mine. Dig deep. And many thanks.
Dear Papa Stash, I love your videos! I am conducting my own symphony orchestra. And am teaching myself the amplified guitar, step by step! lol Growing up in the UK, I grew up with the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Status Quo etc. So to be able to play all the bands I so loved as a teenager is so FUN, AMAZING. I would love to mail you a concert recorded for TV, scheduled for next summer in AUGUST, in Spain, where I will publicly perform for the first time together with my symphony orchestra on the electric guitar, will rock the socks of my all too STRICTLY classical colleagues around the globe, in my orchestra play several instrumentalists and soloist from several countries all around the globe! lol FEEL like a teenager again!!!!!!! As a kid we just imagined to play a soccer match, more popular here in Europe than the Super Bowl! giving us the names of the "stars" of the game, then!!! Living outside of the box is always very inspiring! And offering many lessons to learn! Maybe you can imagine what it means to perform like a pop/rock guitarist in conditions where we so far only performed in a tuxedo on special occasions, famous concert halls etc. A very few friends, who I told about this idea/plan quite frankly speaking call me "Andrew Gaga" --- but if that so thats fine with me. At the end of the day, WE ALL LOVE music in one way or the other! Bless you, both of you, for making this video!!! Andrew
Watching you and Tim just reminds me of how much I don't know.....fortunately it motivates me to continue learning. Thanks to you both for what you do to help us basement rock stars get a little better every day.
Yep, it's the good stuff! I have done some products with him as well on my site you should check them out! They go great when paired with the masterclass.
Funny I was noodling w/ ‘wicked game’ and Vast’s ‘don’t take your love away’ last week. And here we are again. Think I might play some more tonight- great vid!
Don't stop playing the into jam! That was amazing! Dang Tim, you make everything sound amazing and so tastefully full. Should I not mention, the PRS sets the mood!
Thanks for these videos! I learn so much from you guys. I've been playing my whole life (self taught) and it's amazing how many doors these simple ideas can open. Thanks you a million times over
AWESOME - I asked Tim about the playing in ONE position when I got to meet him(and Marty!) at the GLC a few months back. Thanks Papa! Hope meet you sometime to thank you in person!
This was a great one! That "Over-ring" is a great term for what I think Tom Bukovac does so well in his playing. He has little chord fragments ringing all the time... as he moves to other bass notes or melodies etc. That's what I'm working on. We need a whole course on that kind of stuff! There's not much out there.
OK - So - you guys should consider working together like this always - individually you are great but the combination of the two of you is amazing! Don't know how that would work out for you guys but it would be great for the rest of us. Simply fantastic collaboration!
And over 1,000 more like Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Adelle, and on and on. Check out this link for some more www.allmusic.com/artist/tim-pierce-mn0000593316/credits
The continuity of events that brought me to this video, reinforcing things I had heard since childhood (like you better get off of them barre chords, boy), thanks for this
Rowen170 E F# G# A B C# D E Or you can vary it a bit based on what chords you’re playing over. Basically it’s an E Dominant Chord (E G# B D) and you fill in the notes from the A major scale since E is the dominant chord in the Key of A. So it’s an A Major scale starting on E. Also known as E Mixolydian. Hope that’s what you were asking and makes a little sense and helps out!
@@BrettPapa Just subbed your channel as well(was subbed to you before but that device broke)Good stuff! Just got done watching your video on the caged system... Seems to be the direction my guitar playing is headed...I look at the fretboard as patterns, but I'm am trying to figure out and fill in spaces, it all makes sense to me...Just gotta memorize....I recently learned the modes of the scale and that is helping for sure. Thanks for the informative videos, and I like the way the play rhythm!( Love the Hendrix isims...)He was such a big influence to me that I don't even notice all the isims anyone when I play but people point it out to me sometimes....
Oh man. What a beautiful sound. Could someone tell me what the settings are. I don't normally ask, but even on this mobile the tone is warm but also crystal clear without being harsh
He is using a Divided by 13 RSA23. Settings are usually somewhere between 4-7. He uses that amp in almost all of his videos and sessions for that matter.
You guys are great together! I just watched you live on Erich Andreas' channel--very good! Are you aware of Mark Zabel's channel? He's another excellent RUclips guitar instructor doing some cool, different kind of stuff (as well as song breakdowns). You should do a video with him!
Sometimes I get too wrapped in technique, then I hear something like this and am reminded that it is ALL about the music - about melody- emotion and atmosphere.
Thanx again Mr Pierce & Papa Stash. These techniques are sooo useful. As usual I will be "Heavily BORROWING" these techniques! & telling every who asks. That I came with all this stuff!? Haha! If only I had youtube when I was starting out! Well, I'd still be watching you lession & gettin MoBetta!!

Can we get a detailed lesson on that muted single note funky rhythm technique? That was too good!!

Tim may not be the fastest or the most technical guitar player, but every note speaks volumes. He just has a feel of what sounds good.
Agreed Douglas! Tim is amazing!

Holy Cr*p! How tasty are Tim's solos in this video? (as always)!
No kidding right!?! He always is awesome!
Everybody comments on how great these guys both are. Very true. I just need to comment how great that PRS of Tim's is.
Haha thanks! Tim has some amazing PRS Guitars.
Sometimes I get too wrapped in technique, then I hear something like this and am reminded that it is ALL about the music - about melody- emotion and atmosphere.
Well said and so true!
Is that a Santana model PRS?
No, not sure what one it is but it is not a Santana.
is what tim played at the beginning is a finished song ?
because i want to listen to it
No we were just messing around. Chord progression is a lot like Wicked Game.
ooh, yeah right it sounds like it xd
Tim, you are another planet> I mean that in a nice way
He is pretty amazing!
'Papa Stash'? sound's like a geriatric marijuana dealer
Haha, the name was given to me by Marty Schwartz a long time ago and it just stuck with me ever since.
You are welcome!
is that the PRS you were choosing the woods for at ?experience PRS?
Hit Tim up on his channel. He is really good about answering questions.
pedraw That’s what I was thinking too.
Where did Tim get that truss rod cover on his PRS???? I neeeeeedddd!!!!!
Not sure. Ask him on his channel he is very good about answering questions.
Anyone hearing "Wicked game" the whole time ?:)
Yep, same kind of progression. That was the idea, how do you come up with parts like that.
I was hearing Candlebox around 0:31....
Tim works magic with a guitar. Heavenly sounds.
Yes he does! More coming soon!
Too damn good.
Haha thanks!
Cool musical RockPod
It's fun watching Brett take guitar lessons, lol!! (just kidding!)
Haha!
Awesome. URock!
No you rock!!
❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Tim Pierce is the balls
He is pretty freakin' awesome :)
worth it for 13:30 alone
Thanks for checking it out!
Who else picked up on what Tim was playing in the beginning? Hungry Heart by Bruce Springsteen
i thought it sounded more like "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak
check out Ross Bolton’s funk guitar vids
Yep great. stuff! Was fortunate enough to have had some lessons with him! Killer player!
Cool Chris Isaak vibes.
Yeah, I love that song and style of playing!
This is so accurate...i play 3 strings at a time ...max.....that gives me 2 guitars....at once...lol....
It looks like Tim is missing an Index Finger Digit on his Right Hand, it is this correct?
Craig Browning No it’s there, constantly holding pick.
Nice Private Stock Tim
It's good to be friends with the owner haha!
Ok. It’s simple. God made the guitar, then He made Tim Pierce. Case closed
Haha! One of his finer creations perhaps lol!
