As an organizer of For 'The Love Of Dance', we could not have been more honored that these talented ladies came to share kpop with people who are not familiar. Most have never seen kpop before, and that is the precisely what our show is all about! We invite many different style of dance to the show, and the audience and other groups get to see something new! (For example, this year, along with kpop, we invited groups who performed Urban Street Dance and Fusion Asian Dance.) These ladies of MKDC were STUNNING, and not only are they beautiful dancers, they were gracious, open and friendly, lovely inside and out. Smiling, I will say in dance studio culture in our area, we are trained not to vocalize during performances-it is considered to not be respectful of the dancers. It's opposite, I know!! MKDC is a class act, thank you so much for coming and sharing your talents! We can see why you have so many dedicated fans. MKDC, thanks again!

As a reveluv I reacted like the audience. I was immersed on the performance, just watching intently and concentrating on it. But let me tell you, I was enjoying it as much as you were.

오랫동안 아시아권에서조차 비주류였고 외국에는 항상 일본에 가려 제대로 알려지지도 않았던 우리나라의 문화를 미국 아이들조차 즐기고 있을 정도로 파급력을 가지고 퍼져나가고 있다는게 포인트다. 쪽팔리다고 말하는 사람은 뭐냐? 진짜 쪽팔린건 아무곳에서조차 우리에게 관심을 안가지고 한국을 일본의 하위호환정도로 취급하던 시절이 오히려 쪽팔린거다.
내가 보기에는 반응들 아무이상도 없구만... 단지 커버댄스일뿐이고 솔직히 노래를 처음 들어보는 사람들이 많아서 그렇지 노래도 그렇고 안무가 괜찮으니까 다들 집중해서 보고 있구만... 관심도 없는거면 애초에 노래나 댄스 나올때 다들 딴짓하고 떠들고 있지... 근데 다들 집중하고 관람하고 마지막엔 다들 박수를 열정적으로 쳐주고 있는데 뭐가 문제란거지??

True but at comp (which is where they’re are now) you aren’t allowed to look at your phones. If the judges catch you, ur team can get points deducted. They do this because they want people to be respectful towards the people who are performing. And since the judges sit at the way top of the bleachers, they are able to see the whole crowd so no dancers risk going on their phones
I absolutely LOVED this cover! my only thing while watching this was 'oh no they're losing them :(' which is horrible because why would you want to miss out on such a master piece? However, dance is all about keeping your audience entertained and enthralled. Psycho is a very hard song to keep people that aren't familiar with kpop entertained. You guys did a FANTASTIC job, I will forever praise you for it, but I do wish you chose a different song, especially when presenting it in a room full of other dancers. You guys have so much talent and can tell you'd be fantastic with other songs as well! I feel like good songs to start a crowd out on are the poppy songs with upbeat choreo. Still, you did wonderful, never doubt that!

결국 이러한 노력들이 일본해 표기문제 라든가,위안부 문제에서 국제사회 인식변화가 이루어지는 하나 하나의 초석이 되는 거겠지요.국뽕 유투브에 취한다면 한국이 강대국 같이 느낄수있지만..아직 일본에 비하면 한국은 미미한 수준입니다.허나 앞으로 3,40년후엔 k-pop을 듣고 자란 세대중에 un사무총장도 하고 미국 대통령도 할수도 있습니다.고단한 환경에서도 이러한 활동을 해주시는 분들이 진정한 애국자입니다.응원합니다.

True but at comp (which is where they’re are now) you aren’t allowed to look at your phones. If the judges catch you, ur team can get points deducted. They do this because they want people to be respectful towards the people who are performing. And since the judges sit at the way top of the bleachers, they are able to see the whole crowd so no dancers risk going on their phones

I absolutely LOVED this cover! my only thing while watching this was 'oh no they're losing them :(' which is horrible because why would you want to miss out on such a master piece? However, dance is all about keeping your audience entertained and enthralled. Psycho is a very hard song to keep people that aren't familiar with kpop entertained. You guys did a FANTASTIC job, I will forever praise you for it, but I do wish you chose a different song, especially when presenting it in a room full of other dancers. You guys have so much talent and can tell you'd be fantastic with other songs as well! I feel like good songs to start a crowd out on are the poppy songs with upbeat choreo. Still, you did wonderful, never doubt that!

관객들 반응이 어휴 따분해 관심없어 이런 느낌은 아닌데? 약간 축하공연식으로 한거 같은데 저기서 뭔 노랠 틀고 춤을 추건 그냥 보기만 하지 일어나서 춤추고 소리지르고 그러나..? 콘서트장도 아니고.. 한국에서 해도 비슷한 반응일거 같음. 비슷하게 비유하면 농구장에서 치어리더들 와서 팝송에 춤춘다고 광적인 호응이 나올까요? 보통 그냥 앉아서 보거나 딴짓하지 않나? 딱 그런 느낌인듯. 오히려 저정도면 많이 집중해서 봐준거 같은데 ㅋㅋ

우선 선곡에 관한 댓글이 가장 많은데 저희는 이날 이 한 곡 만을 공연하지 않았습니다. 그리고 저희는 이미 수많은 방탄소년단, 블랙핑크와 같은 유명한 곡을 공연해왔습니다. 모든 공연에서 매번 같은 가수의 곡을 공연을 하지 않고 저희는 저희가 하고 싶은 곡을 공연합니다. 그게 비난을 받아야 할 이유라면 어쩔 수 없는 거지만 애당초에 이 팀은 저희가 좋아하는 것을 즐기기 위해 만든 팀이지 KPOP을 미국인에게 알리는 단일한 목적으로 만들어진 팀이 아닙니다. 그리고 무엇보다 미국인의 눈치를 봐가며 이거는 그들이 좋아할까 안할까 매번 전전긍긍하며 공연하고 싶지 않습니다. 저희는 그저 역사를 기록하려는 목적과 시대의 변화를 보고자 이런 영상을 촬영할 뿐입니다.
다음은 주최측의 해명에도 끊임없이 관객 반응에 대한 비난이 이어지는데, 분명 관객의 문화가 다르다는 걸 이해하시기를 부탁드립니다. 이런 식으로 관객에 대한 비난의 목소리가 높으면 결국 주최측은 각 장르별로 댄스팀을 공연에 초청할 때 KPOP에 대한 거부감과 부정적 인식이 생겨서 결국 초청 장르에서 빼게 됩니다. 그게 우리가 궁극적으로 원하는 바인지 다시 한 번 생각해보셨으면 합니다.
마지막으로 인종차별과 사대주의, 특히 동양인과 한국인 및 자국 문화 비하에 관해 깊은 유감을 표합니다. 다시 한 번 말씀드리지만 이 영상은 단순히 미국의 어떤 커버팀이 어느 지역에서 단 한번 공연한 영상일 뿐입니다. 이 한 개의 영상으로 KPOP 전반에 대한 모든 걸 뭉뚱그려 단정 짓거나 성급한 일반화를 하지 않기를 바랍니다. 특히, "내가 잘 아는데 KPOP은 미국에서 단순한 너드 문화"라는 식으로 까내리는 글도 지양해주셨으면 합니다. 미국 내 KPOP 인지도에 관한건 그 누구보다 2013년 부터 미국 전역을 돌며 KPOP관련 공연을 수도 없이 한 저희가 가장 잘 알고 있습니다. 근거없는 국뽕도 문제지만 주체성 없는 사대주의도 눈살이 찌푸려집니다.
