  • Program 2722 ................... - Grace - Religion - God is Eternal .................................................................
Recorded at Texas - September 2021.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

The young woman at the end reminded me of a verse Jesus spoke in Matthew 7:6 "Don’t give what is holy to dogs or toss your pearls before pigs, or they will trample them under their feet, turn, and tear you to pieces." She is taking the holy gift of God's grace and treating it like garbage. I've listened to dozens of hours of Cliffe's videos and I appreciate the difficult task he undertakes of presenting the gospel to these students but I've noticed that eventually the conversation become reduced to dead end theoretical philosophical ideologies. I used to be a student like that but eventually in the real world (outside the bubble of university life) I underwent hardships that forced me to face reality and it brought me to Jesus. I pray that the seed that Cliffe planted in that young woman blossoms into faith in Christ but I also battle with the notion that there will always be people who will squander the grace of God.

@Frenchy J J. The sad thing about that guy was that he is buying into the fake idea that exclusivity and intolerance are inherently bad things. He doesn't have the ability to stand up for what is right if that stance happens to exclude a particular idea. He wants everyone to know that he doesn't disagree with anyone. While he was standing there sharing the fact that he rejected Jesus or the Catholoc faith, he refused to state a single reason why. Instead he kept reiterating the fact that he wanted to include everyone and that made him a better person than someone who rejected anything, which he unfortunately doesn't see would include things that aren't true.
So this kid doesn't have the spine to let people know when they are walking down the wrong path because he'd rather have the admiration of those people because he's "tolerant" or "inclusive". That's a horrible deception to fall under. It's evil disguised as good.

That concept comes from pride. Which I believe people have in abundance when they are fixated on proclaiming how tolerant and accepting of others they are. In reality, behind the veil, they really do believe they are better than others but they know that isn't right so they go out of their way to convince us of how accepting and tolerant they really are. That's what I've learned along the way. The people who are constantly reminding you of how tolerant they are usually aren't tolerant at all.
I'm glad Cliffe challenged Him like he did because when people claim to be tolerant, it usually makes the people hearing it to back off because they don't want to be seen as intolerant.

    .
There's just a huge, obvious problem with that: we get taught many things growing up, but we don't reject them just because that's what we were taught. We have to reject things we were taught because we find it is wrong and something else is correct or better.
    .
That's the problem... these folks run away from X without heading towards Y. They don't bother to look for truth. Rather, they find it inconvenient to accept that being a Christian will mean they have to conform their lives to biblical truth. So they do not reject Christianity because it is untrue: rather, they reject it because it is inconvenient and they're too lazy to find something that is better. That's when they fall back on "I'm too busy with my homework..." or "I just don't know so I believe whatever sounds good for now...." Intellectually lazy, which is scary considering this is a college campus where educated people are supposed to be doing to further their education, and yet they refuse to make anything beyond the barest token effort to discover what is actually true.
    .
I've never seen someone reject Christianity because they studied the teaching of the Bible in detail and found it to be untrue. Usually it's because someone who claimed to be a Christian treated them poorly (in which case the person is the problem, not the Christian faith), or because it doesn't line up with their politics or personal desires.

Hi, Jesus was against slavery and any other unloving form of practice at that time, which includes any kind of violence, emotional, mental or physical. He treated everyone with love, no matter who they were, what religion, race, gender or any other individual background. When anyone applies the golden rule, it is self evident that slavery is not ethical. In his time, there was no "Old Testament", only prophetic books and it is known that Jesus confronted a lot of religious and political practices at that time.

Jesus also didn't say anything about rape or incest, his focus for the limited time He had on Earth was to teach people the way to get to Heaven and eternal life. As He taught us to love, even our enemies, it's hard to make an argument He would have been for slavery. As evidenced by His apostle Paul who wrote in Galatians - "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

@@Generatorman59 @Generatorman59 I think to understand that verse, we need to understand that slavery was a way for people to work off debts in those days. So when Paul says - "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters", i believe he's speaking for all workers, that all we do must be done with integrity.
Paul did send a slave, Onesimus back to Philemon, carrying a letter in which Paul tells Philemon to stop treating Onesimus as a slave and to welcome him- “no longer as a bondservant, but more than a bondservant, as a beloved brother”. But Jesus didn't come to Earth to start His Kingdom here and make everything perfect, it was an alert to an eternal Kingdom that is to come and the path to get there. Jesus died for slaves, didn't love them less than any other person. Anyone using Jesus' silence on topics like slavery, rape and incest isn't being intellectually honest about the way Jesus lived, treated others and wanted us to treat others. if you're asking why He didn't specifically call out these issues by name - i do not know

And if u say you have faith and I hate poor people and I don't want to help them your faith is dead
    James 2:14-26
14 True Faith Is Proved by Works.[a] What good is it, my brethren, if someone claims to have faith but does not have good works? Can such faith save him? 15 [b]Suppose a brother or sister is naked and lacks his or her daily food. 16 If one of you says to such a person, “Go in peace; keep warm and eat well,” but does not take care of that person’s physical needs, what is the good of that? 17 In the same way, faith by itself is dead if it does not have works.
18 But perhaps someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and by works I will show you my faith. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble.
20 You fool! Do you want proof that faith without works is futile? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 Thus, you can see that his faith and his works were active together; his faith was brought to completion by works.

"Nothing comes from nothing" yes, the universe in which we live is not eternal, it had a beginning, therefore it is impossible to believe that nothing created it. Matter doesn't pop into existence without a cause. The universe didnt create itself. "But how is God uncreated?" The definition of Eternal is lasting or existing forever; without end or beginning. Therefore God was not created. God always was. The Bible says this clearly. God even calls himself "I AM." he meant he is infinite, he is, was, and always will exist.

They say that in the American armed forces there are men that are married to each other and women too married to women.
    O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
America America God shed His light on thee. But look at what that you’ve become I can’t bear the sight of thee.

I Chong, the dutiful and trusted student of Confucius have recorded his words while staying at Sue Chows Inn in the year 472 during a time of heavy rains.
“Do not judge a teacher by the quantity of his students but instead let your judgment be based on this wise. Is the teaching the truth. And are the students lovers of truth. But many have no appetite for truth because they are not prepared to align themselves to the will of the great creator. This involves relinquishing our will and accepting the creator’s will. You and I shall recognise the creators prophets by these signs. They will be lowly of heart. They shall point the people to the ways of righteousness. They shall trust and love the great creator. They shall reprove evil. And their prophesies shall come true. Let these ones who follow the great creator be your example but do not follow lovers of lies who flatter and deceive. “
“The stream that they see is Glorious,
Where beauty floats along. Their world is called victorious,
Where they sing a lifting song.”

The following is a quote from the 2000 Ency-clopædia Britannica, Volume 11 ; page 390."During the later periods of Roman history, sun wor-ship gained in importance and ultimately led to what has been called a 'solar monotheism.' Nearly all the gods of the period were possessed of Solar qualities, and both Christ and Mithra acquired the traits of solar deities. The feast of Sol and Victus (open uncon-quered Sun) on December 25th was celebrated with great joy, and eventually this date was taken over by the Christians as Christmas, the birthday of Christ."Notice how it says "both Christ and Mithra ac-quired the traits of solar deities?" Pardon, but are there any alarm bells going off here?

There's no free will. By nature, we are children of wrath in rebellion against God (just as all creation is) with our souls in bondage to sin. The heart is desperately sick. Our will is bent towards suppressing the knowledge of God in unrighteousness.
No one is disadvantaged due to their disposition. the question is a genetic fallacy and denies the power and reach of God. God says He will remove sin wherever it is to be found. God has provided sufficient knowledge to all people, at all places and in all times.
