FYI - Nwaneri came on against West Ham last season so it didn’t take him two years for his next appearance. Moving on the actual topic, the point Dean the Arsenal fan is trying to make but not articulating very well, is why does Arteta have to had an ulterior motive?; maybe he just wanted to give Nwaneri his debut at 15 because he was doing well and possibly because he was showing him that he will make it Arsenal if he stays, but then so what? That’s his prerogative as the Arsenal manager and what’s to anyone at Talksport let alone Cundy. This hasn’t been a discussion when any other player has broke the record before but surprise, it’s when Arsenal do something that everyone else has done it then becomes a massive problem 🙄.
What a load of nonsense from Cundy. A 15 yo made his debut in a game that has already been won & at home to reward him for his contributions when training with the first team. If it was “all about Arteta” you wouldn’t have heard about him again like dozens of youngsters who make their debuts in other teams. Remember the lad from West Ham who people were waxing lyrical about him 3 years ago? I think he was 16 at the time. Real men apologize when they realise they were wrong. It’s stupid to say Arteta had an ulterior motive because he wanted to please the player. What a stupid statement!
Even when proven wrong, Cundy still can't apologise especially when now he's coming through to potentially starting games for Arsenal. Taking 2 years for a player of that age to finally break through is not indicative that his first appearance was a token gesture, it's very rare even for players to be playing top flight football at 15-17.
Yes and that’s why no one takes it seriously anymore.. we want punditry based in facts and truth , not slander and jealousy… journalism is supposed to be non-biased. Long gone are the days
@@Jim-jimminy I don’t tune in to the sports bar for quality analysis and facts, I tune in because it’s just mates having a laugh I don’t take it too seriously.
Cundy says he was right! Wtaf... Does he understand that Nwaneri was identified as a possible future England player since the age of 10 or 11.... but people in the scouting business for clubs and academies. He was absolutely a priority to keep at club as City and Chelsea were looking to snap him away. He was letting Nwaneri know he recognizes his talent and would do everything to give him every opportunity to fast track to first team. We lost Obi Martin to Man Utd subsequently. A player we really wanted to keep, but Arteta just couldn't do same for him at the time
Nwaneri had a lot of suiters as his contract was up. Arteta believed in him, wanted to keep him so had to show there was a pathway for him, give him a taste of what it felt like and to make him feel like he could make it into the team sooner rather than later. It worked as he stayed, he's kept him out of the limelight last season so he could develop and this season has made room for him in the squad, he's put him in games where he can show his talent he's kept the pressure off of him for now which shows he does care, so Cundy along with Danny Murphy were wrong. There was a necessity to play him to stop the vultures circling and prove he had a future at arsenal
The game was already won, it was the great chance to give the boy a run around. Do you expect arteta to throw on a young lad like ten hag did with toby collyer in the match against liverpool? Cundy you absolute sausage
Cundy arguing against himself. He said he was self indulgent while accepting that he did it to show there is a pathway to the 1st team. Which is it? his problem is, Cundy thinks he's a genius when he's actually a simpleton.
Arsenal were losing kids to Chelsea and others at the time. Tribunal amounts were low. If Arsenal lost Nwaneri to Chelsea, the fee would be for a PL player. Didnt get much money for Hutchinson, a player who didnt feature in the PL for Arsenal.
There’s many benefit from playing him then see now we all can see he’s ready because he’s already expose to the big moments now he’s on to the next phase of his career , that just want to blame Arteta for giving a young talented guy a debut and act like he’s right now Total BS
There’s nothing self indulgent about it lol. Before Arteta someone else was the manager to play the youngest player. Cindy just made a nothing comment that really means nothing. He played cause he’s good end of. That indirectly adds to his value etc etc, everything is a by product but he’d never see the pitch if he wasn’t good lol. It’s a pointless debate lol
If I was a young talent, I would want play for a club that gives me a chance like Dortmund or play under a manager that improves me like I dunno Unai Emery. He's the one who played Saka and Morgan not Arteta 😂
Cunty is absolutely wrong on this one. It’s embarrassing listening to him. Not a fan anymore.
Cundy is a troll! He just says things for clicks,… he even said VVD was average

Spot on
Exact points made. The worst thing Cindy said that day was, Arteta does not care about Nwaneri. Arteta was using the boy.
spot on!

He also came on last year as well so did not even take him 2 years to come on after tht debut.
The worst thing Cindy said that day was, Arteta does not care about Nwaneri. Arteta was using the boy.
DISGRACE button >>>
90% of these young players put in to game to show them to other clubs and get $10-$15M for them in a season
cundy so salty rival he cannot say when hes wrong
Cundy found out
It'll be easier for him to say "yeah I was wrong, completely wrong" respect we move on but he's coming off like a twat not admitting his wrong
Candy is not very articulate, childishly stupid show. He was less than average baller.
Where did arteta find him epsteins island 🤔
Cundy says a, lot of rubbish, he should go work for ESPN, like minded silly no football knowledge pundits
Just admit you got it wrong🤦♂
This is exactly why no one takes talksport seriously… say no more
It’s an opinion, it doesn’t have to be right.

You clearly said Arteta didn't care about nwaneri which is wrong. He's managed him beautifully since then
Cundy was caught. Atleast b honest and admit. But....
Nwaneri had a lot of suiters as his contract was up. Arteta believed in him, wanted to keep him so had to show there was a pathway for him, give him a taste of what it felt like and to make him feel like he could make it into the team sooner rather than later. I agree with Cundy
Well Someone has to start a 15 year old for the first time.
Cundy’s ability to read Arteta’s mind is simply incredible. Perhaps he should give up punditry and go gamble his life savings on poker.
The game was already won, it was the great chance to give the boy a run around. Do you expect arteta to throw on a young lad like ten hag did with toby collyer in the match against liverpool? Cundy you absolute sausage
How does Candy actually have a paying job at Talksport ??
Cundy arguing against himself. He said he was self indulgent while accepting that he did it to show there is a pathway to the 1st team. Which is it? his problem is, Cundy thinks he's a genius when he's actually a simpleton.

The score was 3 nil and Viera scored a wonder goal 😊

Wow! I hope you don't take the next day off when Arsenal face Chelsea. You were nowhere to be seen after the 5nil.
