In addition to Bobby's "Don't Be Cruel" album being nominated in that category, the 3 other nominees included: Bobby McFerrin for his album "Simple Pleasures, Al B. Sure! for his debut album "In Effect Mode" and Luther Vandross for his album "Any Love" The awards aired on April 13, 1989.
P.S. Bobby's song 'Rock Wit'cha' on the "Don't Be Cruel"' album is my favorite on the album....

I must admit that hearing the song snippet in that category seemed a little off. I do remember the song doing very very well on pop radio and the Billboard Hot 100 charts, but I can't recall hearing it on R&B radio??
