- In this video, I want to share with you what to do if you fall through the ice!
This year in Maine the weather has been wild rain and snow with sections of open water all over!
That doesn't mean you can't be on the ice if you know what your doing so I am heading to meet with the pros at Camden Fire and Rescue and they are going to teach me what I need to know when you fall through the ice and after they teach us we are going to go give it a try!
Stay tuned stay warm and let's jump in!!! Хобби
Thanks for doing this video. It’s great information, for anyone enjoying time outdoors. It is a very scary thing to be in this kind of position. Keeping cool and not panicking helps tremendously!
Stoked you enjoyed it! We love the outdoors and want everyone else to as well and to he a little smarter and safer for it
Excellent video. Thank you! One other tip I've heard is if you fall through, turn around and get back out in the direction you came from. The ice ahead of you may well be too thin. The ice behind you supported you. Also, wear "ice claws." Then you don't have to worry about not being able to get grip on the ice.
Your right bummed we didn't get one in there!
Thanks for watching Bruce
This was so helpful! We’re new to Maine and want to start exploring the outdoors. Thanks for doing this!
My pleasure thank you for watching!
I fell through the ice when I was like 11 years old at Blunts Pond. I felt that memory when you went in haha I didn't get the sled ride or that beautiful mermaid feeling tho 🤣
Thats wild thats terrifing at 11! Stokec you where safe and bummed you missed out on the sled ride and wonderful mermaid feeling!
Jeremy you're a nut! Educational for sure! Thanks
It helps lol
“I’m a beautiful mermaid” 😂
Lol
nice!
Nice, thanks for making me laugh this morning
My pleasure!
AWESOME SAUCE 👌 🆒️
Thanks Owen
Wow kudos to you! And thank you
My pleasure! Having fun doing what we love :),
Great info and some awesome shots!!
Thanks brother!
Hope you are doing well and staying warm brother!
Thanks for that, hopefully I won’t have to use those tactics, but I’ve been known to take a shortcut on the saltwater ice here in Burgeo Newfoundland , and have experienced folks plummeting through ice on skidoo with bobsled loaded with wood, can be tricky and fast to say the least. I usually carry extra clothing and ice picks around the neck just in case.
Excited i could share it with you up there! And I second that hopefully you never have to but sounds like you are prepared if it does! Stay safe might have to come explore up there soon!
Now you gotta come visit me so we can go through what to do when stranded on a mountain top lol
Now that sounds awesome
Yep,
Cold.
Yup cold lol!
That must have sucked
Lol the extra 50 lbs of clothes dragging me down was no fun but worth it!
